Noted villain Rami Reddy died this morning due to cancer. He had been suffering from cancer and kidney related ailments from quite sometime.
Rami Reddy, who is considered as one of the outstanding villains of Telugu Cinema, acted in more than 250 films as a villain and character actor. With typical Telangana dialect, he created a separate mark for himself in the industry. He had also acted in Bollywood and other South Indian languages.
His film career began in 1990 as a villain in ‘Ankusham’ directed by Kodi Ramakrishna. His dialogue ‘spot pedatha’ in the film became so popular that it is being used even today. His popularity slowly rose over the next few years with films like Gayam, Peddarikam, Ammoru, Anaganaga Oka Roju etc.
He has created a separate niche for himself in Telugu cinema. His appearance (with beard and bald head), action, expressions, dialogue modulation and versatility are reference worthy.
Of late, Rami Reddy was not seen in the film industry. When he appeared at the MAA elections a couple of months ago, everybody was shocked to see him. He looked pale and lanky, compared to his huge personality and sturdy physique and strong voice in his films. Only then people could realize that he was suffering from serious ailments.
Tollywood personalities expressed shock on his demise.
