Actor Richa Gangopadhyay got a pleasant surprise recently when she was presented with a 'Fashion Diva' award at the Southspin Fashion awards 2012.

The hot looking actor was honored with the 'Fashion Diva' award for her unbiased ethnic look in the STR starrer 'Osthe' - a Tamil remake of the Hindi blockbuster 'Dabangg' that starred Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.

The actor will be next seen in the Goutham Menon produced 'Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum' and has been signed up for a couple of Telugu projects each with 'Rebel Star' Prabhas and 'Mass Maharaja' Ravi Teja.

Richa's next outing in Tamil is the Venkat Prabhu diet 'Biriyani' opposite Karthi in the lead. This biggie that is expected to release by the end of this year would feature newly married couple Sneha and Prasanna sharing screen space with Director Mysskin donning the grease paint to play the villain in the film.

Looks like Richa is progressing pretty good pace even on her career front.

Director Siva of 'Siruthai' fame is having a good time enjoying the success of 'Daruvu', the Ravi Teja starrer that his raking good collections at the Box-office.

Responding to earlier reports, Siva disclosed that his next project with Ajith in the lead will not be a remake of Daruvu. He said that it is his original script and that it will be a mass entertainer.

Having said that, Siva hasn’t given up the idea of making the Telugu super hit 'Daruvu' in Tamil or any other language. He admitted that he has been getting offers from both Kollywood and Bollywood to remake the film. But Siva hasn’t taken any decision on that front yet.

When asked about the rumour of Anushka not playing the lead in his next with Ajith, Siva said that there are few problems with Anushka's dates, but he is sure that it can be sorted out.

The film will go on floor after Ajith completes his shoot for the Vishnuvardhan project.

Ajith starrer 'Billa II' is scheduled to release on 15th June,2012 and the actor is all set to start shooting for his next project with director Vishnuvardhan, a yet to be titled film that would also have Arya, Nayantara and Taapsee in the lead roles.

The 'Billa' actor recently signed up for a film with director Siva of 'Siruthai' fame with Nagi Reddy's Vijaya Productions. With reports suggesting that the film will be a Tamil remake of the Telugu film 'Daruvu', there is a lot of curiosity surrounding this project.

'Daruvu,' a Ravi Teja starrer also directed by Siva is an out and out masala entertainer and falls in the socio-fantasy genre in the lines of Superstar Rajinikanth's yesteryear film 'Athisaya Piravi (1990)'.

Siva's last Tamil outing 'Siruthai' with Karthi in the lead was also a remake of Ravi Teja's 'Vikramakoodu' that went on to become one of the biggest hits of the year.

Clearly Ravi Teja is a lucky charm for director Siva!

Ajith’s next with Vishnuvardhan is all set to go on floor on the 30th day of May, 2012. The yet to be titled has already started making buzz boasting of Arya, Nayantara and Taapsee.

Recently there were reports that the team is likely to rope Arvind Swamy and Prithviraj in important roles in the film. Now the news is that director Vishnuvardhan is in talks with Telugu superstars Nagarjuna, Jagapathi Babu and Ravi Teja.

If everything goes well, we hear the Telugu stars will do guest roles in the film.

Along with the cameos by Superstars, the film would have Yuvan Shankar Raja’s ecstatic music, Vinod's topnotch cinematography and Sreekar Prasad’s flawless editing as other highlights of the film.

In an interview, Arya, who is featuring as the bad guy in Ajith’s next, has opened up about Ajith.

The actor started with agreeing that he is a great lover of Ajith films.

“Ajith is a thorough professional and has no ego that comes with the star status. He is very kind, humane and interacts very well treating everyone from co-stars to a bottom level technician in the sets equally,” said Arya who was all praises for Ajith.

"Every word that Ajith speaks will be filled with concern and affection. When I wished Ajith on his birthday, Ajith excitedly said that we will rock together in Vishnuvardhan's film."

“Vishnu is my very good friend. I wouldn’t mind even being a junior artiste if he asks me to be,” said Arya about director Vishnuvardhan, whom Arya worked with for 'Sarvam'.

The leggy actress who confirmed that she was doing her next Telugu flick with Ravi Teja is no longer doing the project.

According to sources, it looks like it's going to be a tough proposition for Trisha to be a part of Sare Osthare. "The dates are clashing and the actress also didn't see eye-to-eye with the filmmakers on many other things," says a source.

Asked why the dates would suddenly clash when the actress signed on the film keeping in mind her current assignments, the source says, "The filmmakers of that project had given different dates initially. But it looks like they now want the same dates that have already been allotted to Trisha's film with Ahmed opposite Jiiva."

Meanwhile, the actress is still wrapping up Samar with Vishal and her movie with Jayam Ravi is also scheduled to start in June.

With so many Tamil films suddenly on her plate, it looks like the actress has to push her Telugu flick onto the backburner.

Richa GangopadhyaySTR’s sensational film, Vaanam has delivered big time at the box - office and has been declared a hit. The Young Star is very pleased with its success but is not to rest on laurels as usual and is all set to begin work on his remake of Salman Khan’s blockbuster, Dabangg with Dharani at the helm.

The heroine of this flick is Richa Gangopadhyay who has already made it big in the Telugu Film industry having notched up hits with the likes of Venkatesh, Ravi Teja, and Rana Dagubatti. Others in the cast are Jithan Ramesh, Nizhalgal Ravi, and Revathy.

The Pooja will be held on may 9th at the Pillaiyar temple in AVM studios. Salman’s Khan’s brother, Arbaaz Khan, who produced the Hindi version will be present along with other luminaries from the Tamil industry to wish the team a good luck to recreate the same magic.

Though Shamshuddin Ibrahim AKA Shaam made his film debut through the Tamil film 12B, he shot to limelight after starring in the Telugu blockbuster titled Kick. Shaam had played an important role in this film and had earned name and fame enough to essay the same role in all of its remakes.

Kick was remade in Tamil under the title Thillalangadi and in Kannada it was named Kick. With both the remakes having done good business in Tamil and Kannada as well, it is now gearing up to go to Bollywood.

Recently, Salman Khan had met Shaam and assured him of the same role in its Bollywood remake and Shaam is happy over this development as it would be mark his debut in Bollywood. Sources in the Bollywood say that this remake would carry the title of the Original Kick and we just try and avoid saying, Not Again !

This remake is rumored to be directed by A R Murgadoss of Ghajini fame once he wraps up his '7am Arivu' with Suriya & Shruti Hassan in the lead. If sources are to be believed Deepika Padukone would be cast opposite Salman for the 1st time in a role preceeded by Ileana, Tamannah and Praneetha.

Who says Richa Gangopadhyay doesn't have a comical side? In Mirapakai she played Vinamra, a coy Brahmin girl who hides her mobile phone gifted by Ravi Teja, her love interest inside her half-saree blouse. She keeps it on vibration mode so her super-conservative family members wouldn't find out that she owned one. In the scene, she had to serve her family members food while her phone suddenly started vibrating. Though she pretends to act normal it vibrates at a time where she had to serve sambhar on her uncle's (Sunil) plate and it spills all over him!

Richa giggles, "My entire body had to shake in a peculiar way and I had to give this distorted, embarrassed expression..the action was followed by my uncle's funny remark, 'What's inside Vinamra's blouse?' and then a slap on his face from my father. I guess I must have done a decent job making people laugh since I got tons of appreciation for it!"
