Bollywood's reigning queen Kareena Kapoor will don the role played by Anushka in the Hindi version of Arundhati.

In the race for the role, where Rani Mukherjee, Kareena Kapoor and Katrina Kaif were contending for the role, Kareena seems to have emerged as the winner.

"I am excited to do Arundhati that had importance for the female character," Kareena was quoted as saying.

Sonu Sood plays the villain role in the Hindi version as well.

Though some of the Khans in the industry may not apparently be on good terms, actors Salman Khan and Aamir Khan continue to remain friends despite the outcome of their films at the Box Office. Salman, who is currently shooting for the romantic thriller, Ek tha Tiger with Katrina Kaif in Dublin has pushed the film’s release only to accommodate Aamir’s film.

Aamir, who is currently shooting for Reema Kagti’s film Dhuaan with Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji was slated to release during the same time as Salman’s Ek Tha Tiger. The film which was scheduled for a June 1 release, will now release in theatres on Eid next year.

A source from the production house says, “Since Aamir wanted to release his next film, on 1st June, he requested Salman and Aditya Chopra to shift Ek Tha Tiger to accommodate this release.

The duo share a close friendship and make it a point to watch each other’s films around the time of their release.

This time however, Aamir went to Salman with a personal request, asking him to postpone the release date to a later time.

Since Salman always has an Eid release since the past couple of years, he pushed the dates by a couple of months and decided to make this an Eid release as well.”

Incidentally, it will also be the first time that Yash Chopra’s production house will have three releases in a year. Apparently, Shah Rukh Khan’s next to be directed by Yash will release in Diwali next year, and Ek Tha Tiger in Eid, which will be followed by Aamir’s Dhoom in Christmas. Looks like it will be a good year for actor Katrina Kaif who is starring in all the three films.

Super sexy Karisma Kapoor is all set to make a comeback. As we all know she has signed Vikram Bhatt's 3D horror film Dangerous Ishq. Now the actress has also been approached by Sajid Nadiadwala for his forthcoming film Housefull 2.

According to a unit hand, Karisma wasn't the first choice for the item number. Rani Mukherji was approached for it earlier. But it seems things did not work out so the makers of Housefull 2 approached Karisma who is a close friend of producer Sajid Nadiadwala.

"Lolo's association with Sajid is very old. The duo has worked together for films like Jeet and Judwaa . Sajid and Lolo are still in touch. So after Rani refused, Sajid thought of Karisma who looks as sexy as she was earlier", informs a source close to H2 unit.

It can be recalled that Raveena who recently made her comeback with an item number in Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap received an outstanding welcome by her fans. Let's hope Lolo's item number creates the same magic for her.

For the first time in her career, Rani Mukerji will do a hot disco number

Rani Mukerji is certainly having fun. On the one hand, she has delivered a hard-hitting performance in her last film and on the other, she is gearing up for some matkas and jhatkas in the Housefull sequel.

Yes, for the first time in her career, the actress will be seen in an item song. Even though she is a fantastic dancer, for some reason, she has stayed away from item songs so far in her career. However, she isn't ready to talk about it. A trained Odissi dancer, Rani says, "As of now, this is hearsay and I'd like to leave it at that. I have really not done an item number in my career, but I'm open to it.

Doing it totally depends on how the song is being presented and if it excites me. I love dancing and I think such special songs have a lot of energy. It's fun to see and shoot." So will this number be choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant, who is a close friend of Rani and has directed her dance moves in Bunty Aur Babli and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic? We'll keep you posted.

Abhishek Bachchan is eagerly looking forward for his film Dum Maaro Dum to hit screens.

Talking about the film in a recent interview, Abhishek said that he wants to change audiences' perception about him being a non-actor with the film. Abhishek's last release Raavan, Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Se and Game have been box office disasters and he wishes to set cash registers ringing with Dum Maaro Dum.

The actor also candidly talked about how favourite co-stars. He said, "Rani is the best co-star I have ever worked with. She's beautiful and is a brilliant actor." When asked if he would like to work with her again, Abhi promptly replied, "Of course, I would love to work with her."

It can be recalled that Abhishek and Rani, who have worked in films like Yuva, Bunty Aur Babli, Laga Chunri Mein Daag and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, had been linked up with each other before Abhi-Ash's marriage. There were also rumours that the two are planning to tie the knot. Though audience felt that Jr. Bachchan and the bong beauty made an awesome couple, the two refrained from working together.

However, now with Abhishek's confession, we look forward to seeing Bunty and Babli light up the screen again with their amazing chemistry.
