Reemma Sen is playing a cop and that of a sister to the lead in the upcoming remake of S.A Chandrasekar’s Sattam Oru Iruttarai.

Hearing this, many other directors have supposedly approached the actor to play similar roles in their films too.

Frustrated by the development, the Aayirathil Oruvan actor has said that she will not play any ‘sister’ roles in her future films, letting out a strong message to film makers that she hasn’t lost her youthful looks yet.

The remake is being directed by Sneha Britto and S.A Chandrasekar himself is supervising the young debutante. Thaman, Pia Bajpai, Bindu Madhavi and Radha Ravi are doing important roles in the film.

It’s known that Vikram is cool and easy going. But director A.L Vijay has an image of a serious person. But in a recent interview Lakshmi Rai revealed how naughty the director and the actor are.

After finishing a shot for Thaandavam, Lakshmi Rai had casually asked Vikram how many heroines he has in Thaandavam. Vikram took this chance to play a prank on the Lakshmi and showed her pictures he took with Reemma Sen and Shriya Saran in his mobile phone to answer her question.

After seeing those pictures, Lakshmi Rai panicked and complained to Vikram that she wasn’t even informed that there are so many actresses in Thandavam and that she would not have accepted the film if she had known about this earlier. Acting very surprised Vikram called Vijay and inquired about the issue very seriously. Taking a cue from the actor, Vijay played along. An upset Lakshmi Rai kept bashing the director, until Vikram and Vijay started laughing. That’s when she understood that the duo had played a prank on her and those photos were taken during different shoots.

Reema Sen is amazed at the response she has been receiving to her sensuous role of Durga, Sardar Khan's ( played by Manoj Bajpayee) second wife in "Gangs of Wasseypur" and expressed her thoughts about the size zero trend that she thinks is obnoxious.

"Anurag had told me that people were going to go crazy over my character but I never expected this. I never thought that people will be so ga ga over the character. People have found a cotton sari and a quarter second back shot so sexy - I am amazed," stated Reemma in a recent interview.

"Had it not come after 'The Dirty Picture', people would have said I looked fat. Vidya has made voluptuous look sexy and I really need to thank her," attributing her success to Vidya Balan.

"Everyone is so crazy over the size zero concept. I don't think fat is sexy but being skinny is not that great either. It's like their bodies are all the same and without seeing the face you don't know who it is. This is an obnoxious trend where people are anorexic and they try to look sexy," added the actor saying that she doesn't think skinny bodies make one look sexy.

Bebo, who is back to her size-zero avatar with Halkat Jawani, her Heroine song, has recently said: "Being fat is not sexy! Anyone who says that is talking crap. Voluptuous is sexy, but fat is out."

Sonakshi on the other hand remarked "People have told me they are happy that the full-figured Indian heroine is back. I have broken the size zero mould. I don't agree with the concept of being stick thin.

At the end of the day, Indian men want women who are well-rounded, voluptuous and curvaceous, someone they can hold."

Reemma, the latest entrant to the curvaceous league of Bollywood, wasn't quite chubby when she entered showbiz.

However, with Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha and now Reemma Sen prove their best with their hot voluptuousness, women with curvaceous, well rounded and voluptuous looks are back again in vogue in Bollywood.

Actor Shriya Saran, who was last seen in Rajapattai in a special appearance song alonside Reemma and Chiyan Vikram, will be back in a Tamil film after a long gap.

Roopa Iyer, the model/actor who recently ventured into directing films is best known for producing and directing her maiden venture 'Mukhaputa - The Cover Page'. The acclaimed filmmaker won 8 international awards for her directorial debut and is planning for her forthcoming film, a bilingual that will be made in Tamil and Kannada simultaneously.

Roopa has been working very hard for the script of thie bilingual tentatively titled 'Chandra' and has decided to rope in our very own Shriya to play the lead role in both Tamil and Kannada versions of the film.

"Shriya has accepted to do the lead role in my film. The film talks about the love story of a princess who lived post-independence and is based on a true story," said Roopa Iyer, confirming the news that is abuzz in the South Indian Film Industry.

Reemma Sen who married hotelier Shiv Karan Singh last month is still going strong on the career front.

Reemma has been roped in for a powerful role in Vijay's maiden production venture for Ghilli Films, which is a remake of S.A Chandrasekhar's Sattam Oru Iruttarai.

Sneha, S.A Chandrasekhar's niece will be making her debut as the director with Vikram Prabhu and Karthika in the lead roles with Reemma Sen playing the cop in the story.

After Reemma's power packed performance in Aayirathil Oruvan, a lot can be expected from her with this role.

Reema Sen married hotelier beau, Shiv Karan Singh at a farmhouse near Vasanth Kunj in New Delhi.

The event was a traditional Punjabi wedding and was well attended by A-listed Celebrities, friends and family.

The bride looked resplendent in a red Sabyasachi Mukherjee creation and her trousseau included outfits from designers Suneet Varma and Shantanu and Nikhil.

The actress had earlier announced that she would be continuing her career in acting and is currently working on Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur and Society in Hindi.

Down South, she is doing newcomer Rajkumar's (AR Murugadoss's former assistant) film with debutant Bhaskaran.

Celebs Factory wishes Reemma a happy married life.

Reemma Sen was last seen with her best of friends Shriya Saran and Vikram for an item number in Suseenthiran's disasterous film 'Rajapattai'. Following this, the actor seems to have decided to enter into marital bliss with her long-time beau Shiv Karan Singh.

Shiv Karan Singh, the groom is a hotelier with chain of eat-outs like Mocha, Shroom, Smoke House Grill etc – in various cities.

Apparently, the couple have been in love for long but Reemma had denied it all along saying that they were just friends.

Shiv Karan proposed marriage to Reemma recently and the actress has agreed to it with the wedding and other ceremonies associated with it to take place at the groom’s farm house in Delhi.

Reemma and Shiv Karan’s high-profile friends from the film industry and other business circles will grace the occasion that is scheduled on March 11th.

Trisha is planning to celebrate the New Year’s Eve in Goa. She will leave for Goa along with her group of friends, report sources from Kollywood.

The actress spends every New Year Day with her band of friends and this year will be no different except the location.

Other than Trisha, Kajal Aggarwal and Reemma Sen are also planning to bring in the New Year at Goa. This year, Goa seems to be the hot favorite among the celebrities.

Vikram has made it very clear.

"I have taken the audience on an emotional journey in Ravanan and Deiva Thirumagal. Now I would like to make my fans feel good with my 'gym boy' persona in Rajapattai," said the actor.

Directed by Suseenthiran, Rajapattai is touted to be a powerful entertainer and has Deeksha Seth making her Tamil debut as the lead opposite Chiyaan Vikram. Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is composing the music for the film is also very upbeat about his first time association with a Vikram starrer.

"These days we read in newspapers about incidents of land grabbing and the police action on the wrong-doers. This is the basic knot of Rajapattai," revealed the makers of the film. With the plot revolving around the ubiquitous criminal phenomenon of land encroachment, Rajapattai has come to be seen as a potential action film as well.

Vikram looks very convincing as usual in his role and he has made the persona of the gym boy his own. To further reach the audience in a more effective way, the actor has released a string of mobile apps across all platforms. He is the second actor in South India to do it, after our very own Mahesh Babu.

Amongst all other highlights, the film also has a hot item song with actors Shriya Saran and Reema Sen shaking their legs with Vikram. Now if this isn't interesting enough, you just got to wait until the movie hits the big screen later this month.

Selvaraghavan has been toying with the idea of making a sequel to Aayirathil Oruvan for a very long time ever since the original was evidently wrapped with an open ended climax.

Although Selvaraghavan had said this long ago, his involvement in Mayakkam Enna kept him away from discussing the sequel for Ayirathil Oruvan.

"The sequel is still in its initial stages and the cast and crew have not been finalized yet," said Selva’s wife Gitanjali, who added that Selva may decide on the sequel to Ayirathil Oruvan Once Mayakkam Enna hits the screens.

Aayirathil Oruvan starring Karthi, Andrea, Reemma Sen alongside Parthiban released in 2010 to mixed reviews from critics, however it is undecidedly a milestone in Indian Cinema and the sequel is highly expected by one and all.

Actor Reemma Sen's been on a high lately, and not only because she celebrated her birthday in Delhi with her fiance, restaurateur Shiv Karan Singh, recently. It's also because she has two big films in hand.

Reemma will be seen in Anurag Kashyap's "Gangs of Wasseypur" next, where she plays the lead opposite actor Manoj Bajpai. "This is a hard-hitting gangster film. Unlike his projects in the past, this film will be completely commercial. His female characters are always bold and interesting and I play this fiery Bengali woman in the film," Reemma told us when she was in the city.

Another film that Reemma will be doing is "Parzania" director Rahul Dholakia's next venture titled "Society". This is a film in which Rahul has moved away from what he does usually. It's a comedy film and very light-hearted," says the actor.

But what about marriage? Reemma said that marriage wasn't something she was talking about at the moment. She also said that the reason why many people felt she'd been out of action for so long is probably because her films hadn't done well in the past. "I worked opposite Govinda recently and am also doing a film down South, but probably because these films didn't get that much mileage, I seem to have been out of action. I am now looking forward to these releases," she said. Let's hope for the pretty actress' sake that there are cash registers as well as wedding bells ringing soon!

STR's Osthi being the remake of the Hindi blockbuster Dabangg had a lot of speculation on who would do the popular item number “Munni” that the hot legged Malaika Arora had done in the original. Finally, it was announced that Mallika Sherawat has been roped in.

When all eyes and ears were on Osthi, curious to know who will dance to the item number, Vikram seems to have roped in two leading ladies for Rajapattai just for one item song!

Reliable sources reveal that Vikram’s Rajapattai will have an item song and director Suseenthiran had roped in Shriya and Reemma Sen for this. The song is touted to be the highlight of Rajapattai and is planned to be shot in Japan.

Reema Sen is one feisty actress who will not be exploited. A furor was created recently, when steamy posters of the actress appeared all over the town showing her reclining on a bed with her bare back turned towards the camera and her face half turned towards it.

This poster was part of a publicity campaign for a film called Ilavarasi, which was being promoted as a sleazy porno film.

When Reema heard about it, she was furious.

Apparently, Ilavarasi is the dubbed version of a Bengali film called Iti Srikantha which she had done in 2004, directed by Anjan Das.

Iti Srikantha does have some intimate scenes but the script which was a strong one demanded those scenes. The film was critically appreciated and even won two national awards.

Reema said that when taken out of the proper context even classy fare can come across as cheap and sleazy. She has decided to take action however and has threatened to sue the producers to the tune of several crores if they do not have the posters removed at once. The producers have given in and have had the offending posters removed.

Bollywood actress Reema Sen will be seen in Ilavarasi, the Tamil version of her 2004 Bengali film Iti Srikanta.

Reema plays a sex worker in the film who was sold off by her parents to a wealthy landlord.

The movie was in news for its explicit sex scenes when it was released in Bengali.

The film has also bagged awards for Sound Effects and Art Direction.

The pretty actress, who made her debut with Chitram, has done movies in various languages like Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada and Malayalam.

Ilavarasi, which has got an A certificate due to its bold scenes, is set to hit the theatres soon.

Reema Sen's last film in Tamil was Aayirathil Oruvan. Her bold performance was the talk of the town. Drained by the effort, she took a break from cinema and simply chilled out for a bit. After that she signed on a Telugu film with three newcomers and is currently shooting for it in Malaysia.

Bollywood also came calling and the feisty actress was roped in for Anurag Kashyap's Gangs of Wasseypur with Manoj Bajpai which will be released in two parts. The latest on Reema is that she will be acting opposite Mamooty and Suresh Gopi in the Malayalam film, King and the Commissioner.

We hope to see her soon in Tamil films.

Reemma Sen has been lying low for a while after the good response to her role in Aayirathil Oruvan. There was some speculation that she was going to get married and quit acting but the actress has simply denied it as rumors.

Word on the grapevine is that she has been roped in to do a big project in Telugu directed by hit machine, VN Aditya, and this film is to be produced by D Rama Naidu. This will be a heroine-oriented, breezy entertainer with three fresh faces who will be vying for her attention.

Reemma Sen is also in demand in Tamil and Malayalam cinema and top producers are approaching her hoping that she will green light their projects.
