Close on the heels of winning her first-ever Olympic medal, looks like Indian boxer M.C Mary Kom now wants to have a taste of Bollywood as well.

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali recently announced his plans on making a biopic based on Mary's life. And now we hear straight from Mary that she wants to have a brief role in the film to be helmed by Omung Kumar Bhandula.

Speaking exclusively to media, Mary stated: "I would love to do a small role in the film. Maybe like that of the old lady from Titanic who comes back to tell her tale."

Last there were reports that the makers are busy hunting for an actor who could step into the Olympic winner's shoes.

Sonakshi Sinha's act in a red saree in the song 'Chammak challo chail chabeeli' from Rowdy Rathore has forced people to draw comparisons with Kareena Kapoor's Chammak challo in RA.One. However, the actor brushes it off as mere co-incidence and insists the two not be compared.

"I am not just Chammak Challo, I am also Chail Chabeeli. I would like to say that Ra. One had not released when we had shot for this song and we had not seen that Chammak Challo in a red saree. It's just a co-incidence," said the 24-year-old belle in an interview.

Sonakshi insists that the two songs are completely different.

"Both the songs are different, it was westernised but our song is full of Indian melody. So you should not compare the two," said Sonakshi, who made her Bollywood debut with Dabangg.

Having said that, 'Chamak Challo' Bebo had agreed to sizzle for a hot item number in ‘Rowdy Rathore’ as a friendly gesture for producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-producer Shabinaa Khan.

The diva is reported to have raised the oomph wearing a glamorous black outfit to dance on the song.

Directed by Prabhu Deva, Rowdy Rathore will hit the silver screens on June 1. Besides promoting Rowdy Rathore, Sonakshi is also busy shooting for Joker, Lootera and Dabangg 2.

We all know how Vijay impressed everyone with his dancing skills on the sets of the Akshay Kumar starrer 'Rowdy Rathore' directed by Prabhu Deva. The director of the film recently revealed some interesting details about the same in a recent interview.

Akshay, The Khiladi actor who intially didn't believe of Vijay's consent to dance with him received Vijay with a warm hug. He was so amazed to see Vijay and asked Prabhu Deva, “What’s he, just 17”?

"Initially, I was a little apprehensive to ask Vijay about doing the dance, but when I asked Vijay about it, his immediate response was ‘why not?’ In an hour’s time Vijay, who was in Mumbai for the shoot of Thuppakki, was at the sets of Rowdy Rathore," said Prabhudeva.

"I'm not trying to provide a Bollywood launch for Vijay. He doesn't need anybody to recommend for him. Bollywood will welcome him with its hands wide open,” he added.

Prabhu Deva is currently shooting Rowdy Rathore with Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha. Once this is done, he will begin his next film with Salman Khan.

Both Prabhu Deva and Salman Khan met during the opening ceremony of IPL and finalized on another project to work together after their previous venture 'Wanted' became one of the biggest hits in both their careers.

Expecting their second venture together to be a bigger hit than 'Wanted', both Prabhu Deva and Salman are planning to rope Kareena Kapoor to play the heroine in the film.

Kareena, the Bollywood Queen is reportedly a big fan of Prabhu Deva ever since he choreographed some of her dance moves in the S.J Suryah directed 'Kushi' and from what we heard, the sexy belle is keen to work with him again.

Prabhu Deva said an official announcement will be made soon once he is done with Rowdy Rathore.

Actor/Director Prabhu Deva and Vijay share a good bond as both actors and dancers after working together for 'Pokiri' and 'Villu' together.

Prabhu Deva, who is presently filming Rowdy Rathore, the Hindi remake of S.S. Rajamouli's Vikramarkudu with Akshay Kumar in the lead, had asked Vijay if he could shake a leg for a song in the film along with him and Akshay.

Vijay, an esteemed actor that he is, has given his nod without any hesitation. Prabhu Deva observed this as a gentle gesture for an actor of such a high stature.

So, we will soon be seeing Vijay and Prabhu Deva shaking a leg with Akshay Kumar for a small part of the song. It must also be noted that Kareena Kapoor has also danced for a song in the film, without taking any payment.

Rowdy Rathore, now being touted as the most anticipated film of the year is being produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and UTV Motion Pictures.

From the looks of it, Akshay Kumar, Sonkashi Sinha starrer ‘Rowdy Rathore’ seems to be a hell of a masala flick.

Rowdy Rathore, a remake of Telugu blockbuster ‘Vikramarkudu’ is being touted as one the big releases of this year with the trailers of the film creating ripples across the globe.

The makers recently released the trailer of its new song ‘Aa re Pritam Pyaare’ and by the looks of it, it is surely going to top the charts very soon.

Known for his passion for dance, Prabhu Deva has roped in not one or two but three dancing divas for the song. The result, of course, is simply splendid. The song ‘Aa re Pritam Pyaare’ features veteran item queen Mumaith Khan gyrating her hot body with Iraninan actress/dancer Maryam Zakaria and Shakti Mohan, winner of Zee’s Dance India Dance II.

The three gorgeous ladies are seen shaking their Jatkas and Matkas to the hot item number composed by the fabulous Sajid Wajid. The song is sung by the uber talented and perfect vocals of Mamta Sharma!

Have a look. We bet you would want to shake a leg or two as well!

The first trailer of Rowdy Rathore was released yesterday amidst much fanfare in an open ground where Akshay Kumar in his rowdy look entertained the media with his dance moves and dialogues. However, as the original trailer was leaked on the internet over the weekend, the surprise element of a new trailer was certainly missing.

Nevertheless, like we promised you, here’s the first trailer of Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited film Rowdy Rathore, directed by the Wanted director Prabhu Deva.

The trailer of Rowdy Rathore starts with a boom -- Akshay Kumar as Rowdy Rathore is introduced to us as someone who is “unstoppable” and “unbeatable”. Akshay picks up fights with goons in the style of a typical south Indian action star, aptly emulated by Salman Khan in his recent action films. More than the hard-to-believe stunts, the entertainment lies in the punchy one-liners.

Akshay Kumar indulges in some heavyweight dialogue delivery in the film: Apun Ka Fatka, Chaar Sou Chaalis Watt Ka Jhatka. He fears no one, Naam Rathore, Vikram Rathore.

The three-minute trailer also has Sonakshi Sinha oozing oomph in desi clothes. The scene in which she makes an entry is quite unique. Akshay is shown rewinding his mind (which he does funnily through his finger) to see her once again. Also the scene where he is after ladoos and Sonakshi, also evokes laughter! Sonakshi Sinha’s doe-eyed beauty and alluring charisma adds freshness to the trailer because she is back after a year and half, and this time is sharing screen space with Akshay.

The trailer with its folksy tune has all the right elements that would help create the buzz for the film. Catch Akshay Kumar’s rowdiness and his “ladoo” romance with Sonakshi Sinha in this first trailer of Rowdy Rathore:

There was rumor doing the rounds that Richa would be doing an item number in Prabhu Deva's Hindi remake of Siruthai titled 'Rowdy Rathore' with Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.

Richa was quick to deny the rumor and used the opportunity to stress that she is in the industry to do meaningful roles and item numbers are out of the question for her.

Richa added that she has no idea where the gossip came from as she does not know anyone associated with the film and is currently busy with her Telugu film with Prabhas and her Bengali debut with Prosenjit which coincidentally is also a remake of Siruthai.

There has been talk about a Bollywood remake of A.R Murugadoss's film 'Ramana' with Vijaykanth for quite some time now.

After all the speculation, it seems that something concrete is finally happening. Sanjay Leela Bhansali loved the film and had purchased the remake rights for it.

Bhansali then approached Shah Rukh Khan for the role and word is that SRK loved the role. A.R Murugadoss has been asked to wield the directorial baton again and apparently he has agreed since he is keen to work with SRK.

Bollywood actors have their ways of making sure that their films set cash registers ringing at the box office.

While some go to temples or shrines, others keep vows as in the case of Prateik, who has promised celibacy, before the release of his " My Friend Pinto".

The 24-year-old actor has decided to practice celibacy for 14 days before his film releases Oct 14.

"This is my first solo film and people do so many things before the release of their films. Some visit religious places to seek blessings, some take a vow of giving up certain things. I have decided to go celibate. I'm just 24, it's my test and I will pass," said Prateik.

"My Friend Pinto", directed by Raghav Dar has been produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and also stars Kalki Koechlin in a pivotal role.

Produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ronnie Screwvala of UTV, My Friend Pinto directed by Raaghav Dar, stars Prateik Babbar and Kalki Koechlin along with Arjun Mathur, Shruti Seth, Makrand Deshpande, Raj Zutshi & Divya Dutta.

Prateik Babbar may be a newcomer to the industry, but he is learning the tricks of the trade — including how to ensure maximum publicity for his projects.

A case in point is how he has cashed in on Friendship Day to create a buzz around My Friend Pinto, which marks his first solo lead role.

“Prateik flew down from Delhi — where he was promoting Aarakshan — to Mumbai and planned a surprise bash for his friends,” says a source.

But is this just a promotional move?

“So what if his party on Friendship Day coincides with the theme of his film My Friend Pinto?” a friend says. “He hasn’t had time to catch up with the gang, and this is a great way.”

We have seen Prateik in more serious roles, but this time rising star Prateik takes on comedy playing Michael Pinto.

Michael is sweet and funny but at the same time, he is also trouble. A lot of trouble! And apparently he will bring the house down, (we hope not literally, but with laugher and applause) when the films opens October 14th!

Prakash Raj seems to be the perfect husband as he is encouraging and supporting wife, Pony Verma's career in a big way. They have opened a dance school in Mumbai called Indian School of Performing Arts. It aims to produce the finest dancers in the country. The dance school will be offering dance lessons in the following genres - Bollywood style, hip - hop, salsa, cha - cha - cha, samba, reggae, jazz, belly dancing and other avante garde dance styles.

The opening ceremony held on June 9th was well attended with Bollywood celebs like Govinda, Mugdha Godse, Vivek Oberoi, Neetu Chandra, and Sanjay Leela Bansali putting in an appearance. The stars danced to a few hit numbers and made the event a lot of fun.

Prakash Raj and Pony have revealed that they believe their dance school will be a success and they will also be opening branches in other parts of the country, particularly Chennai and Hyderabad.

Noted playback singer Shreya Ghoshal says that filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali is an encyclopedia of music.

Ghoshal, along with Bhansali and singer Sonu Nigam, is a judge on the Indian version of music-based reality show X Factor which will be aired on Sony from today.

"Guzaarish is completely composed by him. I think somewhere music inspires films for him. For me he is the encyclopedia of good music. He has heard so much that he is just superb," Shreya told PTI.

"Judging with Sanjayji and Sonu makes it even more special, because the credibility, the musical expanse that is associated with both of them. They are the cream of music icons today," she said.

Shreya made her debut as a playback singer in Bhansali's Devdas, for which she received both the Filmfare award for Best Female Playback Singer and the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent.

The 27-year-old singer, who had caught Bhansali's attention as a participant in music-based reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, sang five songs in the film - Silsila Ye Chaahat Ka, Bairi Piya, Chalak Chalak, Morey Piya and Dola Re Dola.

On 'X-factor', Shreya says, "One is born with X-factor. Usually one feels X-factor is something where people jump and show their enthusiasm and all that. Most of our singers don't do that. Lataji does not do that and she is magnificent. It is not specific what X-factor actually is...it has to be captivating."

The singer says X-factor reminds her of her Sa Re Ga Ma Pa days.

"When I am meeting these people...its like knock-knock, I am being reminded of my old days. I can feel the same energy. Due to non-stop work, stage shows, reality shows everything was blur but this show has stopped me and made me think about my journey. I am getting very emotional in this whole process."

Sanjay Leela Bhansali has postponed the release of his forthcoming film My Friend Pinto from June 17 to July 1st.

His film was clashing with Shah Rukh Khan's home production Always Kabhi Kabhi.

According to an industry insider, Sanjay Leela Bhansali recently saw SRK's dance number Antenna from the film and that made him rethink about the clash.

SLB had decided to postpone his production My Friend Pinto from June 17th to a further date.

Now Bhansali doesn't want to take AKK for granted especially after watching SRK's awe inspiring number.

Perhaps he wants to avoid the disastrous deja vu when Om Shanti Om and Saawariya clashed on the big screen.

However, SLB now has stronger contenders. His film will now release with Delhi Belly and Big B's Bbuddha Hoga Tera Baap.
