We learnt about the farewell party that Selvaraghavan had thrown for Anushka, when the Irandam Ulagam team returned from the long schedule of Georgia.

While having their dinner, someone had dropped a used tissue paper, which was consumed by a dog.

Anushka put her hand inside the dog’s mouth and pulled out the tissue. But unaware of her intentions, the dog took a bite off her hand.

As a result, the actor had to take injections for three days.

Finally, Karthi's Alex Pandian can gallop towards the finish line as lead lady Anushka is back from her Irandam Ulagam shoots in Georgia.

Just a song needs to be shot with the lead pair in Alex Pandian before the film goes into the post-production stage. This song is currently being shot near AVM Rajeswari theater in Chennai.

There was news that Alex Pandian would release on October 12, and it looks like the release would happen as scheduled. Alex Pandian is directed by Suraj while Devi Sri Prasad scores for this entertainer, also starring Santhanam.

Selvaraghavan and his Irandam Ulagam team involving Arya and Anushka had been shooting in exotic locations of Georgia for more than 40 days.

The team has been shooting under very difficult conditions for this ambitious film of Selva.

Being a very big star in the south Indian film industry, the team says Anushka never complained about the inconveniences she was been put through for such a long period. Though the tough conditions were mainly due to the locations they were shooting in, the pretty actor never failed to adapt to it, even if it involved staying in a common dormitory.

Highly pleased by the Anushka's co-operation and her support for the shoot, director Selvaraghavan threw a farewell party for her.

The actor is now back in Chennai and has joined the Alex Pandian team.

Selvaraghavan seems to be pulling out all stops for his film 'Irandam Ulagam' with Arya and Anushka.

The team will be flying to Georgia for a two month schedule and everybody is excited.Selva was there earlier to scout for locations and was joined by wife Gitanjali and baby daughter, Lilavathi.

Portions of Irandam Ulagam have already been shot in Hyderabad but the shoot was delayed because of the FEFSI - TFPC strike. Now the team is eager to make up for lost time. Arya has started work on Settai as well and will be juggling his dates to make room for both films.

Selvaraghavan's wife Gitanjali has said that Aayirathil Oruvan and Pudhupettai are her favorites among Selva's films.

"Aayirathil Oruvan was the first film I watched after completing film school in England and was blown away by it. I've always been a Selva fan and in fact even my thesis revolved around Pudhupettai," said Gitanjali, director Selvaraghavan's spouse.

Now, Irandam Ulagam starring Arya and Anushka is all set to beat these films, Gitanjali has promised fans on the basis of what she has read and seen so far. She added that it is going to be Selva's best effort thus far.

Selvaraghavan is proceeding full steam ahead with his Arya and Anushka film, Irandam Ulagam.

For the first time ever, the ace director is teaming up with Harris Jeyaraj and insiders have opined that it is the pairing of the decade. Great things are expected from this duo and they are keen to deliver.

Recently, a track was recorded sung by Karthik and with lyrics by Vairamuthu. Selva is in love with this song and said that the music director, singer, and lyricist have outdone themselves.

In Selva's words, "Recorded a fabulous song with Harris sung by Karthick. Superb composition and wonderful singing! Bloody romantic! And with kaviperarasu Vairamuthu's lyrics! Feeling enthralled listening to those beautiful words!"

Shooting for Selvaraghavan's film, Irandam Ulagam with Arya and Anushka in the lead, resumed yesterday after a gap of three months and the director couldn't help but blame the strike for the delay.

"Arya and Anushka share a good chemistry together as they enact two well-etched characters that I can't wait to see on the big screen," said Selvaraghavan updating the progress of his upcoming film 'Irandam Ulagam' collaborating with Harris Jeyaraj for the music of the film.

Produced by PVP cinemas, Irandam Ulagam will have Arya and Anushka paired together for the first time. This would be the first that director Selvaraghavan be associated with Harris Jeyaraj after having worked great tunes with Yuvan Shankar Raja and GV Prakash.

There has been a flurry of reports that Andrea and Sunder, seen recently in Selvaraghavan's Mayakkam Enna are dating.

It has been recently reported that Sunder has said that Andrea is a special friend and there is every chance of a romance blossoming between them.

"Sunder and I go back a long way and we have been and always will be good friends. There is nothing more between us. Such rumors are stupid and they just make things awkward," said Andrea denying the reported news to be baseless.

"I feel that Sunder may have been misquoted and moreover he is currently out of the country or he would have put a stop to such rumors immediately," she added.

Stylish Star Allu Arjun of Tollywood has a firm favorite in Kerala as well better known by his fans as Bunny following his hit film Bunny.

Bunny has been invited to inaugurate a showroom for Emmmanuel silks, located at Kottayam on the 25th of March.

News is that the inauguration would also bring Bollywood Starlets Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor who have also been invited to model some of the exclusive clothes available at the store.

Word is that Allu Arjun and Selvaraghavan are holding talks about a bilingual film to be made in Tamil and Telugu to be made after Irandam Ulagam.

Selvaraghavan is basking in glory lately celebrating the birth of his newborn daughter.

Following the birth, Selva took a short break from the grueling schedule of Irandam Ulagam which was progressing in Hyderabad. Now, the director is getting ready to fly down to Canada to film some important scenes there.

Irandam Ulagam’s lead pair Arya and Anushka along with the rest of the cast and crew will travel to Canada soon and the date of their departure will be announced soon.

Dhanush and director Selvaraghavan are basking in glory over the success of Mayakkam Enna and its successful run at the theatres for 50 days and still counting.

Busy with 3, directed by his wife Aishwarya, at the moment, the national award winner says that he will be doing one more film with his brother and director Selvaraghavan this year.

Dhanush also promised a super-duper script from his brother. Selva and Dhanush have churned out several hits in the past and we can expect one more from them.

Kamal Haasan is very passionate about his new film Vishwaroopam, an upcoming bilingial spy thriller which he says is currently the biggest project in Tamil cinema.

"I was not getting any younger to just stand by and let the director waste anyone's time besides wasting his own," said Kamal Haasan on his decision to direct the film. It can be recalled that Selvaraghavan was supposed to direct this film before Kamal Haasan was forced to take over the responsibilities.

Kamal Haasan also mentioned of actress Sonakshi Sinha whose dates were also wasted being the original choice for the heroine's role that is now being played by Pooja Kumar. The actor conveyed his apologies to Sonakshi and parted ways hoping to work together in the future.

About the kind of films being made in India today, Kamal said that he appreciates the kind of films that Aamir Khan does and it is such films that keeps his interest in Bollywood movies going.

Dhanush has said that he would offer bulk dates or even bulk years, if Selvaraghavan wanted him to act in Aayirathil Oruvan II.

The actor revealed that he was supposed to do Parthiban’s role in Aayirathil Oruvan but finally director Selvaraghavan decided against casting him.

"Initially Selvaraghavan wanted to cast me as a Prince in Aayirathil Oruvan but since the role went to Parthiban, the character turned out to be a King," revealed Dhanush adding that he began preparing very hard to get the right characterization when Selva told him about the role.

"In fact, when Selva told me that I am not in for the role, I felt very bad and could not sleep for a week", said Dhanush.

Hence, in case Selvaraghavan confirms Dhanush in Aayirathil Oruvan II, he would allot bulk dates or even years!

According to the latest information, Osthi will release on the 24th and Mayakkam Enna on the 25th of November this year.

Initially both the films were expected to clash at the box office but later it was decided that they will release on different weekends.

Finally it has turned out that both the films will hit the screens with just a day apart.

Although Dhanush and Silambarasan are not in for a head-on clash, their respective fans are very excited about the films’ response at the box office.

Dhanush has teamed up with his brother Selvaraghavan after a long time and this has created a curiosity over Mayakkam Enna. On the other hand, Osthi is the remake of the Hindi smash hit Dabangg.

Selvaraghavan has been toying with the idea of making a sequel to Aayirathil Oruvan for a very long time ever since the original was evidently wrapped with an open ended climax.

Although Selvaraghavan had said this long ago, his involvement in Mayakkam Enna kept him away from discussing the sequel for Ayirathil Oruvan.

"The sequel is still in its initial stages and the cast and crew have not been finalized yet," said Selva’s wife Gitanjali, who added that Selva may decide on the sequel to Ayirathil Oruvan Once Mayakkam Enna hits the screens.

Aayirathil Oruvan starring Karthi, Andrea, Reemma Sen alongside Parthiban released in 2010 to mixed reviews from critics, however it is undecidedly a milestone in Indian Cinema and the sequel is highly expected by one and all.

Ajith's next heroine is likely to be Anushka who is on a high, post the rave reviews of her performance in Deiva Thirumagal.

Ajith and Anushka are likely to do a film together for Nagi Reddy's banner.

Ajith will soon turn his attention to this film once the shooting for Billa 2 and Vishnuvardhan's next for A M Rathnam is completed.

Anushka should also wrap shooting for Selvaraghavan's Irandam Ulagam opposite Arya and her pending Telugu projects before beginning work on this project.

This untitled film will be directed by Siruthai Siva and Yuvan Shankar Raja is likely to compose the music for the film.

Sonia Agarwal, who became popular among the audience through the film ‘7G Rainbow Colony’ is now making her re-entry into films with "Oru Nadigayin Vaakumulam" after divorce from her then husband director Selvaraghavan.

Oru Nadigayin Vaakumulam is a bilingual film that is simultaneously made in Tamil and Telugu. The film is being directed by Raj Krishna and produced by Punnagai Poo Gita for S G Films banner.

According to producer Gita, Sonia Agarwal, who won many hearts through her remarkable performance in ‘7G Rainbow Colony’ is playing a heroine's role in this film and the story is about the problems being faced by the heroines in the film industry.

"Sonia is sure to capture the audience hearts once again through her performance in this film,” added the producer.

This bilingual titled 'Oru Nadigayin Vaakumulam' is yet to be titled in Telugu and has a starcast that also includes Nikhol, Sadan, Jyothi Lakshmi and Vimala Sri in pivotal roles. The audio launch for this film was announced to be held in the last week of October with the film's release following it shortly.

The trailer of the film was launched during the Airtel Super Singers Live show that was aired on Vijay TV and it has naturally caught the attention of the viewers raising the expectation levels several notches up.

The television show 'Airtel Super Singers' enjoys immense popularity and it was indeed a good move to launch the trailer.

Mayakkam Enna is a directorial venture by Selvaraghavan and it has Dhanush and Richa Gangopadhyay playing the lead roles.

The songs have been set to tune by G V Prakash and they have already turned out to be chartbusters and interestingly, Dhanush has turned a lyricist in Mayakkam Enna.

The film is scheduled to release this diwali racing along with the Vijay starrer Velayutham and Suriya starrer 7aum Arivu.

There were a lot of expectations that Mayakkam Enna would be released in September in order to avoid the Diwali rush, but the post production work seems to have delayed its release.

Richa Gangopadhyay, the heroine of Osthi with STR and Mayakkam Enna with Dhanush says that she only wants to do roles that have meat on them and not the usual plastic characters.

The actress said Mayakkam Enna has given her a chance to show off her acting chops as her character has been beautifully developed by Selva. And as for Osthi, Richa says that her character along with the script has been modified from the original to suit the Tamil audience.

"My role in Osthi opposite Simbhu is prominent and is performance - oriented to that of Sonakshi's in Dabangg. It has been reworked to suit the Tamil audience" she says. She added that she was lucky to get such good roles with the top actors of this generation and is keeping her fingers crossed for more good offers.

Enough has been written about Mayakkam Enna and Irandam Ulagam that Selvaraghavan has decided that it is time the confusion is resolved. The director has made it very clear that Mayakkam Enna and Irandam Ulagam are two different films and his attention is now on the former because its release will be some time soon.

Irandam Ulagam will star Arya and Anushka and this film will commence only in the month of December, Selva states. Moving back to Mayakkam Enna, the director reveals that it is movie for the next-gen.

Maykkam Enna may not be an entirely new story but it is a story that happens at every home now-a-days, Selva has said. The film stars Dhanush and Richa, and according to Selva he picked up Dhanush not because he was his brother but because he was apt for the role in Mayakkam Enna.
