Shriya Saran is celebrated her 30th birthday today on September 11th, 2012.

The actor famed for her really fit body and sizzling dance moves recently sent her male fans into a tizzy with a raunchy photoshoot for the leading men's magazine Maxim India, the August 2012 issue.

Now 30, Shriya's film career has some promises lined up in the form of the Tamil-Kannada bilingual Chandra, the 3D version of Sivaji with Superstar Rajnikanth and Deepa Mehta's Midnight Children.

Celebs Factory wishes the gorgeous actor a happy birthday and many more returns of the day with good health, happiness, success and more interesting films in the near future.

Shriya Saran recently made a lot of heads turn with her 2nd photo shoot for popular men's magazine, Maxim.

Maxim's photo shoot of Shriya Saran on the August'2012 issue of the magazine was raunchier that ever like she was never seen before and the actor's critics went to claim that She was doing such glamorous photoshoots to gain some attention from the film circles.

But Shriya without losing her cool just brushed away such claims as baseless information clarifying that she shot it for fun since she knew the photographer very well.

Shriya further asserted that her photo shoot was done aesthetically and in good taste.

On the filmy front, Shriya is pinning her hopes on Chandra, for which she has learnt Kalari and these stills have also been doing the rounds prominently in the net.

Actor Shriya Saran is all excited with her ambitious role in the upcoming Period-fantasy-Kannada-Tamil bilingual film, 'Chandra' directed by Roopa Iyer.

It has to be recalled that the director of the film had earlier roped in Divya Spandana and had even signed her for the role. However Divya was dropped from the film later as she unable to co-operate with the director and showed less interest during the shoot skipping the Kalaripayattu training classes that were required for the stunts performed by her character.

The director then zeroed in on Shriya after considering other actors like Dia Mirza, Amala Paul, Amrita Rao and Aindrita Ray for the prestigious role that it is of a princess of last generation. The film revolves around the princess and the love story in her life that has been shot at beautiful temples in Karnataka and an erected palace set in Mysore.

A thorough profession of an actor that Shriya is, trained in Kalaripayattu for the stunts performed by the princess and the fight sequences in the film. These sequences required a lot of dedication and Shriya has been putting in a lot of hard work, much to her director Roopa Iyer's delight.

It will be remembered that actor Genelia also had trained Kalaripayattu for the role of a princess she played in Santosh Shivan's Urumi, that did wonders for Genelia and got rave reviews.

Shriya must be keeping her fingers crossed for 'Chandra' to make her the darling of critics and fans alike.

It’s known that Vikram is cool and easy going. But director A.L Vijay has an image of a serious person. But in a recent interview Lakshmi Rai revealed how naughty the director and the actor are.

After finishing a shot for Thaandavam, Lakshmi Rai had casually asked Vikram how many heroines he has in Thaandavam. Vikram took this chance to play a prank on the Lakshmi and showed her pictures he took with Reemma Sen and Shriya Saran in his mobile phone to answer her question.

After seeing those pictures, Lakshmi Rai panicked and complained to Vikram that she wasn’t even informed that there are so many actresses in Thandavam and that she would not have accepted the film if she had known about this earlier. Acting very surprised Vikram called Vijay and inquired about the issue very seriously. Taking a cue from the actor, Vijay played along. An upset Lakshmi Rai kept bashing the director, until Vikram and Vijay started laughing. That’s when she understood that the duo had played a prank on her and those photos were taken during different shoots.

Southern siren Shriya Saran sports a lacy lingerie and adorns the cover of the August 2012 issue of popular Men's magazine Maxim. She even went ahead posing topless for a wide-spread that has grabbed the targetted eye balls in the North, where the magazine is comparatively famolus.

The glamdoll has supposedly made this move to draw attention and one would admit that Shriya didn't fail at her intention.

The actor has filmed for her part in Deepa Mehta's 'Midnight's Children' and is also a part of 'Zilla Ghaziabad' that  is awaiting its release.

Presently the actor is busy shooting for her Tamil-Kannada bilingual Chandra, starring Ganesh Venkatraman, Prem Kumar, Sukanya, Vivek and Sumithra.

Actor Shriya Saran, who was last seen in Rajapattai in a special appearance song alonside Reemma and Chiyan Vikram, will be back in a Tamil film after a long gap.

Roopa Iyer, the model/actor who recently ventured into directing films is best known for producing and directing her maiden venture 'Mukhaputa - The Cover Page'. The acclaimed filmmaker won 8 international awards for her directorial debut and is planning for her forthcoming film, a bilingual that will be made in Tamil and Kannada simultaneously.

Roopa has been working very hard for the script of thie bilingual tentatively titled 'Chandra' and has decided to rope in our very own Shriya to play the lead role in both Tamil and Kannada versions of the film.

"Shriya has accepted to do the lead role in my film. The film talks about the love story of a princess who lived post-independence and is based on a true story," said Roopa Iyer, confirming the news that is abuzz in the South Indian Film Industry.

Salman Khan and Shriya get along splendidly over their shared passion for fitness.

The Bollywood superstar is very impressed with Shriya's talent after Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai and has been promoting her in a big way.

It may be remembered that Salman also promoted Katrina Kaif and as a result she is one of the leading heroines in Bollywood today.

Sonakshi Sinha is also a Salman discovery and her career is also rocking these days.

Will Shriya also follow suit? Let's wait and watch!

Vikram has made it very clear.

"I have taken the audience on an emotional journey in Ravanan and Deiva Thirumagal. Now I would like to make my fans feel good with my 'gym boy' persona in Rajapattai," said the actor.

Directed by Suseenthiran, Rajapattai is touted to be a powerful entertainer and has Deeksha Seth making her Tamil debut as the lead opposite Chiyaan Vikram. Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is composing the music for the film is also very upbeat about his first time association with a Vikram starrer.

"These days we read in newspapers about incidents of land grabbing and the police action on the wrong-doers. This is the basic knot of Rajapattai," revealed the makers of the film. With the plot revolving around the ubiquitous criminal phenomenon of land encroachment, Rajapattai has come to be seen as a potential action film as well.

Vikram looks very convincing as usual in his role and he has made the persona of the gym boy his own. To further reach the audience in a more effective way, the actor has released a string of mobile apps across all platforms. He is the second actor in South India to do it, after our very own Mahesh Babu.

Amongst all other highlights, the film also has a hot item song with actors Shriya Saran and Reema Sen shaking their legs with Vikram. Now if this isn't interesting enough, you just got to wait until the movie hits the big screen later this month.

Shriya is currently in Thailand.

The actress was having a whale of a time visiting various dive sites when things suddenly went sour for her there.

Shriya visited the Tiger Temple at the Kanchanaburi province, near Bangkok and was shocked to see that the tigers including the cubs were kept chained by the monks in the temple.

It is an inhuman practice to capture these wonderful creatures and then keep them chained so that tourists can play with them or feed them or pose for photos, she said.

The worst part was that they were selling SAVE THE TIGER tee shirts even as they themselves were so cruel to the beasts, Shriya complained.

STR's Osthi being the remake of the Hindi blockbuster Dabangg had a lot of speculation on who would do the popular item number “Munni” that the hot legged Malaika Arora had done in the original. Finally, it was announced that Mallika Sherawat has been roped in.

When all eyes and ears were on Osthi, curious to know who will dance to the item number, Vikram seems to have roped in two leading ladies for Rajapattai just for one item song!

Reliable sources reveal that Vikram’s Rajapattai will have an item song and director Suseenthiran had roped in Shriya and Reemma Sen for this. The song is touted to be the highlight of Rajapattai and is planned to be shot in Japan.

Shriya Saran, one of the most glamourous heroines down South has always been noted for her bold avatars. Be it the roles she signs up for her movies or her remarkable fashion statements.

Shriya was recently taken aback when noted Bengali filmmaker, Rituparno Ghosh asked her to appear n#de for a scene in his film. Apparently, her character in the film is that of a prostitute and the scene was a very important one in the script.

The actress reportedly has mixed feelings because the role is one of a kind and it'd be anybody's boon to enact such a superb character that will really bring out their acting prowess. Moreover, Rituparno Ghosh did wonders for Aishwarya Rai's career and could do the same for her.

But Shriya does have her reservations about the nude scene though she knows that Ghosh is a reputed director and will shoot the scene in an aesthetic manner without any sleazy elements.

What will Shriya decide now? Would she dare to go n#de?

"You will remember Kamal Haasan from Sathya when you look at him. He is a man of conviction and believes it's his duty to question the wrongdoers and help the helpless." This is exactly how Jiiva describes his character in Rowthiram, which hits screens today.

"It's a usual film, but director Gokul has brought in the element of difference through his way of filmmaking. It's a contemporary, no-nonsense film that will have the audience hooked," he says with confidence, "Despite being a debutant, Gokul had me hooked with his narration. He showed me videos of his previous works and explained how he was planning to shoot the film."

So, what is Rowthiram all about? "In pure Tamil, it means kovam. It's not about hopping mad with anger, but staying composed and thinking things through even when someone is angry. There's a saying - Tamizh oruvanai shantha padutthum. Tamizh oruvanukku rowthiram pazhakkum. The film talks about that kind of anger," he explains.

Despite being high on action, Jiiva says the film revolves around a cute love story. "People will not sit through a film if it lacks lighter moments. If Titanic was all about how a ship hit the iceberg and sank without a trace because the engine failed, it would have sank at the BO as well! The core of Rowthiram will be a love story between Shriya and me. It's a story that everyone can relate to and enjoy watching," he smiles.

Talking about Shriya, he says, "Despite having worked in several films with top actors, Shriya is down-to-earth. She gels well with everyone and is one whom you would call perfect heroine material."

Rowthiram was in the making for long and was even surrounded by controversies. But Jiiva says it was worth the wait. "It took us almost two years to complete the project. Some even thought that audiences would forget that a film called Rowthiram was being made! But, I'm confident that it will bring people to the theatres because it's a film worth watching. Be it the script, the cinematography, the music or the artists' performance, the audience will have a lot to look forward to," he signs off.

Shriya Saran dazzled at the Gem Visions India 2012 held last Sunday August 7, 2011 around 7:30 pm at the Grand Ballroom of the Renaissance Hotel, Powai, Andheri (E), Mumbai.

The event’s Chief Guest was Priya Dutt, Member of Parliament.

Shriya looked gorgeous in this event, which was restricted only to selected invitees.

The Design Appreciation Awards were given to some of the well known jewelry designers & brands and the catwalk in which Shriya and others participated was the highlight of this show.

Shriya in heavily brocaded lehenga with matching accessories was truly a feast for the eyes of the fashion conscious.

Shriya Saran will once again team up with Prithviraj to scorch the screens in the Malayalam movie Hero.

The film is scheduled to begin production in November and will be directed by Deepan.

Earlier, Trisha was rumoured to play the lead actress in the movie, making it her debut vehicle in the Malayalam cinema, but had to back out due to scheduling conflicts. Deepan confirms that Shriya will now play the role.

This will be Shriya's third Malayalam movie after the Mammootty-Prithviraj hit Pokkirri Raja and Mohanlal's Casanova. Hero will also star Srikanth in an important role.

If sources are to be believed Nayantara will be seen doing the hot item song in south remake of Dabangg.

If you think Nayantara has decided to quit films after Shri Rama Rajyam then you will be surprised by this news. We heard the actress has been approached to do an item song in Osthi , the Tamil remake of Dabangg .

Reportedly before Nayantara, Shriya Saran was considered for the same item number. Though Nayan is yet to give her nod, the actress is certainly open to new offers. The hot item number which was done by Malaika Arora in Dabangg gained a lot of publicity and helped the film too. Osthi makers are looking for the same hot treatment to their item number.

Silambarasan aka Simbu has already started shooting with Richa Gangopadhyay who plays Sonakshi's role in the film. It seems director Dharani has to wait for Nayan's approval before making any announcement.

Osthi was officially launched in May and is scheduled to release end of this year.

Shriya Saran, who was once the hottest property down south, seems to have slim pickings now in the Telugu film industry.

The actress, who has worked with all the biggies, made headlines for walking out of Manchu Manoj's film Mr Nokia. She is now finally making a comeback in a low budget movie, opposite Allari Naresh and Sharwanand.

Ask her why she chose this film and Shriya says, "This is a cute love story and that's what prompted me to sign it."

While she has made special appearance in many films lately, this movie, directed by Narayana, will be Shriya's first leading lady role since Don Seenu, early in 2010.

Meanwhile, Shriya is awaiting the release of her Tamil film, Rowthiram with Jiiva. When we asked her if Rowthiram marks her return to Kollywood, the actress said, "Return? Why would you say that? The only reason I've not had a release after Chikku Bhukku (late 2010) was because this film took a long time to make. But it's finally releasing now and it's been worth the wait."

Nayanthara may have bid adieu to films but the film industry is reluctant to let her go. Recently STR and Dharani approached her with an offer for an item number in Osthi.

This will be a remake of the famous Munni Badnam Hui number which had diva Malaika Arora Khan in a scorching routine. They were willing to pay big bucks too as Nayan has a super successful track record for sizzling numbers.

Nayan however refused politely as she wants Sri Rama Rajyam in Telugu to be her last outing.

She plays Sita in the film and the role is very close to her heart as she found it very spiritually uplifting. It will be the perfect way to say goodbye to the big screen which she loves. So her answer was a firm no.

STR is not too upset however, and he asked Shriya Saran, who was more than happy to oblige.

Shriya Saran is currently busy on the sets of Rowthiram working opposite Jiiva. Rowthiram is nearing completion and Shriya is yet to sign another project in Tamil. However, she has been roped in for a Telugu film with Allari Naresh.

Naresh who debuted with Kurumbu in Tamil is very successful in the Telugu film industry ever since he shifted his focus on to Telugu films.

This project in the talks will be a remake of the Hindi film, Deewana Mastana which was released in 1997. It was a David Dhawan comedy with Anil Kapoor and Govinda vying for the affections of Juhi Chawla.

Shriya and Allari Naresh have already been finalized and the search is on for the other hero.

Actress Pranitha made her debut in Tamil with Udhayan opposite Arulnidhi. She is very happy with the response she has been getting and says that everyone has only good things to say about her performance in the film.

Pranitha has been hoping that the film will get her noticed and help her to land some good films and it looks like Pranitha's prayers have been answered.

Pranitha is now Karthi's heroine in Saguni. Karthi's last film Siruthai with Tamannah oppsosite him was a smash hit, and he has been waiting patiently for a good script to follow it up. Debutant Shankar Dayal impressed Karthi with Saguni and he readily agreed to do it.

The talks that Shriya Saran or Anushka to be pairing opposite was finally put to rest with Pranitha being finalized to be Karthi's arm candy.

Shriya Saran might well have got herself in trouble again. The actress has said that it is really absurd to raise the legal age for drinking to 25 when people are allowed to vote and get married when they are 18 years of age.

Shriya has said that she is not advocating drinking but matured people should be allowed to make their decisions.

This statement from Shriya has raked up a controversy, no doubt.

Shriya has said that she does not want to discuss this issue again and has put an end to by saying sorry.
