Carrie Bradshaw's fans need not be disappointed as a third Sex and the City movie is inching towards reality, says lead star Sarah Jessica Parker.
The 46-year-old actress who played the popular character in the successful TV series and two movies, says they have found a story for the third movie, the Hollywood Reporter said.
"There is. I know what the story is. It's a small story, but I think it should be told. The question is, what's the right time to tell it?" Parker said.
The second movie, where the action shifts to Abu Dhabi, was critically panned for its insensitive portrayal of the Muslim world with makers indicating that they might not take the story forward.
Parker's comments seem to lend credence to the theory that a third film would not be a prequel with younger starcast.
"My Carrie Bradshaw started at 33, and I took her to 43. I didn't even want to know who Carrie Bradshaw's parents were because I thought she only existed in Manhattan. So for me, the idea of going backwards and making her less evolved ... is something that I don't imagine doing," show runner Michael Patrick King had said.
Last month, rumours surfaced that the project will feature young stars such as Elizabeth Olsen, Emma Roberts, Blake Lively, Selena Gomez as Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte respectively. Also the film will be based upon The Carrie Diaries and Summer and the City.
Jessica looked relaxed and cheerful as she chatted to The Tonight Show host Jay Leno about her pregnancy and upcoming film Spy Kids: All The Time In The World.
Wearing a stunning full-length empire line dress, flatteringly nipped in under the bust, radiant Jessica giggled her way through the light hearted interview with Jay, whose other guests included sexpert Sue Johanson and Justin Bieber's girlfriend Selena Gomez.

Jessica took advantage of the opportunity to quiz Sue, who allayed Jessica's fears that having sex so late in the pregnancy might harm the baby, reassuring her that it was perfectly safe.
Jessica refused to bow to pressure from Jay to reveal the due date for her new baby however, saying only that it was 'soon'.She was also unwilling to tell Jay whether the child was a boy or a girl.
It is believed that the due date is around mid-September.
Jessica has been taking care to spend a lot of time with her three-year-old daughter Honor recently, to ensure that she doesn't feel left out amidst the baby buzz.
Jessica made sure Honor's third birthday, which was last month, was a special occasion for her little girl, escorting her around New York dressed adorable in a purple princess outfit.

Teen star Selena Gomez has dismissed rumours about being a part of Sex and the City prequel.
According to reports, the 18-year-old was likely to portray the character of a young Charlotte York, the role made famous by Kristin Davis.
But Gomez says she is not joining the franchise as the teen version of York, reported Daily Star online.
"That was a compliment and I was very surprised when I heard that - it was very sweet, but there is nothing official and I've never even been approached or anything," said Gomez.
The songstress also said that she is not a Sex and the City fan because she was too young to watch it when it first hit TV screens.
"My mum is more of a fan because I wasn't really allowed to watch it when I was younger," added Gomez.
The series has spawned two movies and producers are rumoured to be working on ideas for a big-screen prequel, showing the characters in their youth.

I just like to not focus on what the whole world is saying about me and just be happy with myself," contactmusic quoted Gomez as saying.
