Shahrukh Khan's new movie titled 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' is set to release on Diwali day. The first look posters have been released too. The King Khan's market pervades all over the world and his films open strongly even in Tamil Nadu.


Over the years, by some coincidence or the other, Vijay's films also release on Diwali day and they invariably clash with the films of Bollywood's Baadshah Shahrukh Khan.

It was Vijay's 'Azhagiya Tamil Magan' vs SRK's 'Om Shanti Om' in 2007. In 2011, it was 'Velayudham' vs 'Ra. One'. This year, history repeats itself yet again as SRK's 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' will compete with Vijay's 'Thuppakki' for a share of the Diwali box-office pie in Tamil Nadu.

A super battle ahead! Shahrukh has Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif for company in this movie and both these stars are popular with TN audiences as well. A.R Rahman scores the music for this SRK starrer and the Mozart of Madras commands his own opening. For Thuppakki, Vijay has a strong technical team backing him with Kajal Aggarwal for company. On the whole, Diwali day is going to see fireworks on the cinema screen as well.

Yash Raj Films (YRF) officials says that their next production, directed by head honcho Yash Chopra, is not titled "London Ishq", as has been reported in certain sections of the media.

"Despite repeated confirmations that Yash Chopra`s film still remains untitled, large sections of the media continue to call it `London Ishq`. This is completely baseless, inaccurate and detrimental to the film," said an official statement from YRF.

The yet-to-be titled film, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma, started shooting for its first schedule in the third week of February in London. It has been creating a huge buzz all over since the first look was unveiled.

The film also brings together the Oscar award-winning pair of A.R.Rahman and Gulzar, who along with Chopra, are working on creating some wonderful and meaningful music.

Scheduled for a Diwali release, the film is expected to add the same fervour to the festive time that Chopra`s films are known for.

Katrina Kaif has been sexy but never the sensuous Yash Chopra heroine. And thus, she has decided to devote a major part of the year to her upcoming YRF project co-staring Shah Rukh Khan.

"I shot with Shah Rukh for five days before my Ek Tha tiger schedule in Cuba. We had never worked before. And I tend to be a bit reserved on the sets. Shah Rukh has shot several times with Yashji. This is my first. But I was made to feel at home from Day 1. Shah Rukh is very helpful. He is helping me understand my character better," said Katrina speaking about her experience on the sets.

Katrina, who has donned the quintessential chiffon saree a couple of times in her previous films, will be seen as the archetypal Yash Chopra seductress, the unattainable beauty in this one.

"The role requires Katrina to work on her body language. Shah Rukh, who has seen several heroines including Kajol, Juhi Chawla, Madhuri Dixit and Preity Zinta transform into Yashraj goddesses, is helping Kat with the same," informed a friend of the actress. In fact, Katrina, revealed the friend, wants this film to do for her what Chandni did for Sridevi.

Responding to the intense speculation about her southern projects, Katrina said, she is devoting all her time and attention to the film at the moment. "I can't take up any other assignment till this is over. I would be doing injustice to this film if I did. It is best that I surrender completely to this film. I can feel it will be special," added Katrina.

A few years back quite a few detractors had rejoiced when Katrina was signed for a serious affair like 'New York' coming from Yash Raj Films. They were sure that she would fail but Chopras had good belief in her. They played to her strengths and managed to hide her weaknesses.

Now with 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' finding brownie points coming its way mainly due to Katrina's presence, they have wasted no time in rewarding her with a film each with Aamir Khan (Dhoom 3), Salman Khan (Ek Tha Tiger) and Shahrukh Khan (untitled film to be directed by Yash Chopra).

Call it a cliche but the writing is pretty much clear on the wall - Katrina Kaif is easily Yash Chopra's newest blue eyed girl with multiple films falling in her kitty at a rapid pace.

"Now this is something that is already making quite a few cynics hide their faces and look the other way because they had never imagined Katrina being summoned at least for those roles that required her to actually act," says a filmmaker on condition of anonymity.

As Katrina about being entrusted to deliver in quite a few biggies, especially her immediate next release 'Ek Tha Tiger' and she says, "See, we are trying our best. It is good to be shooting for the film and we have a good script in hand to work upon. As for the performance standing out then well, we have some amazing scenes, sequences and locations in 'Ek Tha Tiger' which I believe would help enhance the performance as well."

Aah, now if only Katrina could acknowledge herself a little more than being her diplomatic self, there may well have been yet another inclusion of a fiery actress in the world of Bollywood.

The steady stream of South actors heading to Bollywood is likely to have an addition soon. Telugu star Allu Arjun is reportedly on the radar of Yash Raj Films.

If reports are to be believed, the very stylish actor, whose recent release "Badrinath" has hit a bullseye at the box office, has been offered a role in Yash Chopra's next flick.

Rumours are also rife that though Allu is very keen on working with YRF, his schedule which includes 4 big releases, may stand in the way. Apparently the actor plans to hold a meeting with the production house to try and adjust dates to accommodate YRF (who wouldn't).
