The actor during a recent press meet mentioned of his admiration towards his director Shankar for his razor sharp vision, the magnificence and the grandeur element that he brings in all his films.

While Vikram's look in the 1st look poster has already made a mark among his fans, he promised that 'ஐ ' would be 100 times bigger than 'Anniyan' both in terms of budget as well as the treatment of his role.

Produced by V. Ravichandran for Aascar films, who also produced Shankar's earlier outing 'Anniyan' with Vikram, 'ஐ ' has a superb technical crew comprising A.R.Rahman, P.C.Sreeram among others.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu remains a hot and happening actor ever since she made her debut with the Gowtham Menon directed 'Ye Maaya Chesave (2010)'.

The 25 year old actor who is currently busy with Gautham Menon’s Neethane En Ponvasantham with Jiiva and Mani Ratnam's Kadal opposite debutante Gautham is still awaiting release of film directed by S.S Rajamoulu, a bilingual titled 'Eega' that is being made as 'Naan Ee' in Tamil.

Meanwhile, the actor has hit the headlines with reports confirming her part in Vikram's next film following 'Thaandavam' better known as director Shankar's big venture about the issues in election.

The Endhiran director is all set to start his work for Therdhal, with Aascar Ravichandran producing the film. P.C Sriram will crank the camera and A.R Rahman will compose the music for the film.

According to our sources, the film might also have another heroine apart from Samantha and this role would most probably go to an actor with Bollywood influence.

Dhanush recently signed up with the Vande Matharam fame Bharath Bala Productions to do a Tamil film.

Today, the actor announced that the film has been titled ‘Mariyaan’ and that Oscar Winner AR Rahman will be scoring the music for the film.

The actor is presently busy with his Bollywood launch pad Raanjhnaa with Sonam Kapoor, Anshuman Singh and Deepak Dobriyal.

Raanjhnaa directed by Anand Rai of Tanu Weds Manu fame would also have music by maestro A.R Rahman.

There is also news that Dhanush might be doing a project with Gautham Menon.

Rubbing off the rumors that were reported earlier, Soundarya Rajinikanth has confirmed that Deepika Padukone will be pairing up with her dad Rajinikanth in her directorial Kochadaiyaan.

There were rumors that Katrina Kaif would play the female lead in this film along with an ensemble cast but now now Deepika has been roped in to play the lead opposite the Superstar.

Interestingly, Deepika Padukone was roped in to pair with Rajinikanth for Rana last year that was halted after Rajini's health conditions deteriorated.

It is worth mentioning here that Superstar Rajinikanth was later hospitalized and regained his health.

Soundarya Rajinikanth, who has decided to direct Kochadaiyaan before filming Rana with her Superstar dad is now making progressing quickly under the supervision of K.S Ravi Kumar, the director of Rana who is penning the story, screenplay and dialogues for this film.

Kochadaiyaan, Soundarya Rajinikanth’s mega budget film has been the talk of the town since its initiation. Beginning with the long line of prominent actors in its cast followed by the rift between the two sisters Soundarya and Aishwarya over release dates, Rajinikanth’s health and finally now the poster.

The poster shows Rajinikanth portraying one of Lord Shiva’s poses. He sports long hair and a beard along with accessories on his hair, neck and leg. While the physique looks like the work of a ‘mouse’ we are sure Rajini’s fans will be over-thrilled to see the actor in the new avatar.

In the film however, Rajini plays an eighth century Pandya king who is known for his legendary valour. Soundarya released the first look of the film on Twitter. The music of the film is by A.R Rahman while K.S Ravikumar will wield the megaphone.

Rajinikanth alongside an ensemble cast including R.Sarathkumar, Katrina Kaif, Sneha, Aadhi, Shobana, Nasser and Jackie Shroff will be featured in Kochaidaiyaan, the first of its kind in Tamil cinema in terms of using motion capture technology. With cinematography handled by Rajiv Menon and background score and soundtrack .composed by Maestro A.R Rahman, the film is being directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth under K.S. Ravikumar's supervision who has penned the screenplay and dialogues.

While we eagerly wait for the film to hit the screens, tell us what you think about the poster.

Gautam Menon who has successfully teamed up with Harris Jeyaraj and A.R Rahman to create some of the most beautiful numbers of all time is all set to make magic yet again.

Gowtham has recently roped in none other than maestro Ilaiyaraja this time around for his trilingual, Neethane En Ponvasantham. The two held discussions and have decided to go ahead and work together.

Excitement is high on the film sets and everybody is eagerly awaiting Ilaiyaraja's compositions for the film. Jiiva especially can't wait to hear the tunes, we are told.

“Hosanna is a prayer in the Bible and used by both Jews and Christians, referring to God or Jesus Christ, with strong reverential and religious connotations. So to make a song and dance out of it where a guy is professing his love to the girl by using this term is utterly unacceptable,” said Joseph Dias, General Secretary of the Christian Secular Forum.

Gautham Menon’s Hindi version of Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya, Ek Deewana Tha features a song that begins with the lyrics Hosanna. This has created a huge controversy as the CSF has said that the term is used only in hymns and its usage in films is objectionable.

Interestingly, the Tamil version also began with the lyrics Hosanna but no objection was raised at that time.

It may come as a good news for all Rajnikanth fans that the actor had declared himself to be fit, fine and ready being all set to start his shot for Kochadaiyaan later next month.

The Superstar along with his spouse had recently attended a stage play by Y Gee Mahendra in Chennai. Rajinikanth had thoroughly enjoyed the show and heaped laurels on actor Y Gee Mahendra. After the play, Rajinikanth said "Thanks to the prayers of all my fans and well-wishers. I am back. Fully fit and I will resume shooting for Kochadaiyaan in a month."

Kochadaiyaan is an upcoming 3D Tamil film to be shot with the kind of performance capturing technology used in films such as Avatar (2009) and The Adventures of Tintin (2011). Directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth and written by K.S Ravikumar, the film will feature Rajinikanth in the lead role whilst background score and soundtrack will be composed by A.R Rahman.

Initially, Anushka Shetty was approached to play the female lead role for Kochadaiyaan. However, it was later officially announced that Anushka Shetty was not part of the film. It was then rumoured that Asin and Vidya Balan were being considered for the female lead role, since producers preferred a Bollywood actress.

Soundarya Rajinikanth disclaimed all rumours that Aishwarya Rai was chosen to do a guest appearance in the film. In January 2012, Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif was approached for the lead role along with Rajinikanth, with Soundarya confirming the same.

Good news for all A R Rahman fans!

Celebs Factory brings to you the curtain raiser of yet another musical of A R Rahman, made by acclaimed film maker Gautham Menon.

Ek Deewana Tha is the Hindi remake of the 2010 Tamil romantic drama film 'Vinnaithaadi Varuvaaya'.

Gowtham Menon's 'Vinnaithaadi Varuvaaya' starred Silambarasan Rajendar and Trisha Krishnan in the lead roles and went on to become one of the best romantic flicks ever seen in the Indian film industry

Ek Deewana Tha is highly expected to recreate the magic with A R Rahman joining hands with Gowtham Menon having Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson in the lead roles.

By now we all know that veteran director Bharathiraja is back in the village atmosphere, doing what he does best!

Bharathiraja is all set to begin his ambitious project Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum with actor Parthiban playing the lead role.

The film will have two leading ladies with one being Priyamani and Parvathy (of Poo fame) as another. However the latest buzz is that Priyamani has opted out of the project due to date hassles and newcomer Iniya (who made a dream debut in Vaagai Sooda Vaa) has been roped to play the lead.

Set in Madurai, Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum is a period film which runs through four decades: 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. The film will have Parthiban in a dual role with different get ups.

The director has also roped in young composer G.V. Prakash as the music director for the project. Since music plays an important role and has to reflect the respective periods.

G.V. Prakash is currently doing research on the kind of folk rural music in these four decades.

Interestingly, G.V. Prakash's uncle A.R. Rahman teamed up with the veteran director for Kizhakku Cheemayilae in 1993.

Goutham Menon is very busy shooting Jiiva and Samantha for Neethaane En Ponvasantham.

"I have a passion for Ilayaraja’s songs. I borrowed the famous line from one of his songs," Said Gowtham.

The movie went to floors recently and the shoot is on in and around Chennai.

Gowtham said "Jiiva expressed his desire to work with me and I was waiting for a right script. Eventually 'Neethaane En Ponvasantham' happened," and added "I would describe Jiiva as a friendly and co-operative star. He is a director’s actor and does what a filmmaker wants."

Interestingly Goutham is also directing Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson for Ek Deewana Tha, the Hindi remake of Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya.

So far only very close family members were allowed to meet Rajinikanth due to his frail health. The only exception to this list was director KS Ravi Kumar who gained access to discuss Rana.

According to Vairamuthu, he is the second outsider to meet the Superstar. The poet is a good friend of Rajini’s and the two enjoy a very good rapport. He met Rajini recently at the Raghavendra Kalyana Mandapam and was happy to see his good old friend recovered.

Rajini is as active as he was and was at ease discussing Rana, politics and other such things. Rajini apparently told Vairamuthu that some changes are being made in Rana and the shooting will soon resume.

Gautham Menon directed Nee Thaane En Pon Vasantham (NTEPV) will be a Valentine’s Day special. The film has Jiiva and Samantha as the lead pair, and the shooting of NTEPV is now progressing in Chennai.

We are told that Gautham intends to complete the shooting in Chennai and London in a single schedule as he has plans to release the film on Valentine’s Day 2012. Interestingly, Santhanam has been roped in as the comedian in NTEPV which is being produced by RS Infotainment and is touted to be an out-and-out romantic flick with loads of humor added to it.

NTEPV will be a perfect gift for the lovebirds this Valentine’s Day, we hear.

Neethaane En Ponvasantham is a forthcoming Tamil romantic film written & directed by Gautham Menon, featuring Jiiva and Samantha in the lead roles. The venture is produced by Kumar and Jayaram of RS Infotainment and will have music composed by A. R. Rahman with cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa.

Gautham Menon met Jiiva to discuss a potential collaboration in May 2011 for his next venture after the Hindi remake of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. Menon decided to use Jiiva in the Tamil version of a bilingual film he was set to make featuring Ram and Samantha, and Menon's "regular crew" of music composer A. R. Rahman, film editor Anthony and cinematographer Manoj Paramahamsa were all a part of the film.

Initial suggestions indicated that the film was set to be titled Nithya, after Samantha's character in the film, but this turned out to be untrue.

The title was recently revealed through the first publicity posters to be Neethaane En Ponvasantham, inspired by a song from the 1982 film Ninaivellam Nithya starring Karthik. An official announcement was made by the producers of the film, RS Infotainment, that a photo shoot was planned in August and the film would also shoot portions across the United Kingdom.

The film was set to begin the first schedule on August 15, 2011 but delays led to a fortnight's delay. It eventually commenced the initial shoot from August 29, 2011 with a photo shoot held and publicity posters were released the following week.

After much anticipation, Ranbir Kapoor fans now get a sneak peek at Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar, scheduled to release November 11.

Fans have pasted the trailer of the film on blogs and Youtube playlists and everyone's floored! The film also features a last look of Bollywood's original rockstar, the late Shammi Kapoor who passed away on August 14.

The film revolves around Jordan, a budding young musician, who is a little awkward around the edges.

It is only when love starts interfering with his performance, this young rockstar chooses his career over his heart.

Unable to let go, Jordan's plight transforms him into a tortured rocker, haunted by his past. Hardened by his attempt to block his heart, Jordan's successful career soon sees him with complete disregard to the law and society.

With music by AR Rahman and a final performance by the late Shammi Kapoor, movie buffs have much to look forward to.

Here's a peek at the whirlwind life of a Rockstar.

Oscar glory eluded AR Rahman's 127 Hours track in the Original score and Original Song category. He lost the Original Score Oscar to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for

The Social Network.

And later the Original Song to Toy Story 3's We Belong Together by Randy Newman.

Earlier this month, AR Rahman lost out on a British Academy of Film and Television Arts award in the Best Original Music category to Alexandre Desplat, who bagged the trophy for his score in The King's Speech.

The Oscar-winning musician was in the race for his second BAFTA award, after being nominated for Danny Boyle's 127 Hours. He had won a BAFTA in 2009 for his work in Slumdog Millionaire.

Even though the 45-year-old composer failed to grab a BAFTA this year, he has already bagged the Best Original Song award at the 16th Critics' Choice Awards in January for If I Rise from 127 Hours.

Rahman was also nominated at this year's Golden Globe awards for his music in 127 Hours, but lost out to The Social Network.

We now look forward to the result for Rahman's second nomination in the original song category for If I Rise from 127 Hours.
