After Rakhi Sawant, Rahul Mahajan and Ratan Rajput, speculation is rife that Pakistani import Veena Malik will scout for a life partner in Season 4 of Swayamvar.

Mika, Raja Chaudhary and Rakhi Sawant were other probable contenders for the forthcoming season.

Shweta Tiwari's estranged husband Raja Chaudhary and Mika had approached the channel and so did Rakhi Sawant to be a part of Swayamvar season 4.

Rakhi Sawant, who got engaged to Elesh Parujanwala on national television with the 1st season of Swayamwar, didn't get married and wanted another chance to find herself a husband after her experience with Elesh. She also told the channel that she would want to run a background check on the candidates and has even agreed to sign a pre-nuptial agreement with the groom and a contract to ensure she would get married this time.

Probably Veena's popularity in the country from her appearance in Color's controversial reality show Bigg Boss worked in her favour.

"Finally, the channel decided on Veena."

Will Veena, who is rumoured to be dating Ashmit Patel, really tie the knot? Wait and watch!

Ratan Rajput has chosen Abhinav Sharma to be her husband in Swayamvar Season 3 - Ratan Ka Rishta. However, they did not tie the knot and decided to get engaged and spend some time knowing each other.

The couple-to-be Ratan Rajput and Abhinav Sharma gave some great poses to our cameramen. Other than them, the happily married couple from Swayamvar Season 2, Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Mahajan, was also snapped. Actress Supriya Pilgaonkar was also seen at the event in a violet sari.

Speaking of the attires, while Abhinav Sharma was wearing a shervani, Ratan Rajput was looking gracious in her wedding attire (she did not get married though!).

Now, we will see if Ratan goes the Rakhi Sawant way and moves on from Abhinav Sharma even before the next season of Swayamvar is announced.

Anyway, have a look at the pics here:

Ratan Rajput's visit to Lucknow on Thursday was quite a memorable one, for the not so usual reasons. Ratan, who was here for the promotion of her onscreen swayamvar kept the media waiting because of a wardrobe malfunction that was detected before it could cause the lady any embarrassment.

"First, the hook at the back of her suit came off, and then, after a few minutes, the zip just gave way! And to top it all, Ratan was not carrying any other dress that she could have worn to the press briefing.

She was wearing was a pair of micro shorts and a loose tee. We only had two options, either to take her out and purchase a new one or to get this one repaired. Since Ratan opted for the latter, we got the suit fixed," informed a source close to Ratan.

As prospective grooms try hard to woo actress Ratan Rajput in Imagine TV’s “Ratan Ka Rishta”, a Delhi-based contender earned her displeasure after getting too close for comfort.

It so happened that photographer Avinash Gowariker arrived at the venue — the Shiv Vilas Resort on the Delhi-Jaipur highway — to capture the chemistry of the boys with Ratan. In a bid to outdo each other, they tried various romantic poses with the would-be bride.

But when Syed Shoaib’s closeness became too much to handle, Ratan gave him a piece of her mind in everyone’s presence, said a source.

The no-nonsense girl from Patna is hopeful of choosing a loving, caring and a simple husband, which clearly Shoaib didn’t seem to be!

Imagine TV's Swayamvar seems to be losing its charm. Ratan Ka Rishta - the third season recorded the lowest ever ratings for the debut episode of the show, while Sony TV's romantic drama Bade Achche Lagte Hain emerged a winner when both shows hit the small screen the same day.

Both shows went on air Monday, but at different time slots.

Bade Achche Lagte Hain, which has brought back two of Indian television's best known faces - Sakshi Tanwar and Ram Kapoor, back to the tube, garnered a television rating point (TRP) of 1.5. While the third season of Swayamvar on Imagine TV lagged behind with a 1.2 rating, according to data provided by audience measurement agency aMap.

This is the worst ever rating for the Swayamvar, where a celebrity gets to choose his or her life partner.

The first episode of the first season of Rakhi Ka Swayamvar, featuring controversy queen Rakhi Sawant as the prospective bride, mamaged a record-breaking TRP of 3.5 for Imagine TV. And the debut episode of the second season Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega with Rahul Mahajan got a 2.4 rating.

It is possible that the non-controversial nature of Ratan, popular for her show Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, has led to this drastic dip in the TRPs. The first episode of the show, which aired 8 p.m., saw the introduction of the 16 prospective grooms.

She is set to choose her 'life partner' on national television but Ratan Rajput, the star of reality TV show 'Ratan Ka Rishta', is not promising that the story will have a happy ending with a good old wedding.

The 20-year-old who shot to fame playing the protagonist in hit soaps like 'Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo' and 'Radha Ki Betiyan', said that unlike her predecessor Rahul Mahajan, she does not want to make any claims.

"Rahul announced that he will marry on the show and he did. I hope for the same and I am optimistic and committed to finding a life partner. But I do not want to make any claims because I cannot even predict what is going to happen tomorrow," Ratan told PTI.

The TV star received a total of 54,863 wedding proposals from across the country after the announcement of her 'Swayamvar' on Imagine TV.

After whittling down to 16 prospective grooms, Ratan is now in the process of searching out her Mr Right, but says that any announcement will be premature.

"I cannot plan these things because emotions, not just mine but of 16 other people, are involved and you cannot predict matters of the heart," said the actress.

But Ratan knows exactly what she wants in her to-be-groom.

"I am a practical person and I want both 'pyaar' (love) and 'paisa' (money). That is my P2 formula of finding my groom. I don't want to always work for money so I want a man who can provide for me if the need arises," said Ratan.

And how should her ideal husband look like?

"I am not looking for a good looking man but a man of character. Good looks can be ruined in a minute but the qualities stay. I want a mature and intelligent man and that is on top of my priorities," said Ratan.

The star is shooting for the show which will go on air on May 30 in the luxurious Shiv Vilas resort here.

And though the final decision will be hers, Ratan's parents, a retired civil servant and a homemaker from Bihar, are very involved in the process.

"My parents are camera shy so they will not be seen much on the screen but they are here and very involved in the process. Though all the decisions are mine I take their advice seriously," said Ratan.

When asked whether she will continue her acting career after tying the knot, she replied, "That will be a decision taken jointly by me and my partner. But I do expect that my husband will let me continue with my career because I am here today because of my work."

Popular TV actress Ratan Rajput has received 54,863 wedding proposals from suitors including doctors, lawyers, engineers, professors, businessmen, chefs and bankers, for her upcoming televised swayamvar "Ratan Ka Rishta" -- and this is said to be highest so far for the show. The maximum offers have come from Meerut and Lucknow.

Ratan, who became popular after her stint as Laali on Zee TV's show "Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo", has managed to elicit the maximum number of proposals ever, surpassing those received during "Rakhi Ka Swayamvar" and "Rahul Dulhaniya Le Jaayega", said a press statement from Imagine TV.

"I want to thank everybody for their continuous support to me. I hope that with the blessings of god, my family and viewers, I find a true soulmate," said Ratan.

The Patna girl has received maximum proposals from Uttar Pradesh, with hopefuls from Meerut and Lucknow topping the list; followed by cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Jaipur, Bhopal, Bangalore, Patna, Chandigarh, Ranchi and Hyderabad.

Men from Britain, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Canada, Pakistan and the US have also sent in their profiles in the hope of walking the aisle with Ratan.

"The response for the third season - 'Ratan Ka Rishta' has been very good. We have entries from all over the world and with so many prospective grooms on hand; Ratan has been spoilt for choice. We are confident to find the right match for Ratan," said Nikhil Madhok, senior director - Marketing and Communications, Imagine TV.

Rahul Mahajan, who is leading a successful married life with Dimpy Ganguly after his on screen swayamvar, has wished Ratan all the best.

"The swayamvar has been a beautiful journey that I cherish. It brought both Dimpy and me together from perfect strangers to being a happily married couple. We not only met on the swayamvar, but also discovered and found love in each other here. We both would like to wish Ratan all the very best in her search for her groom," said Rahul, son of slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan.

Ratan Rajput better known as Laali of Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo is getting nostalgic as the show comes to an end after running successfully for two years. The last episode of the show airs on Monday, February 14.

The 7.30 pm slot will once again be taken over by Dev-Radhika’s romance, Choti Bahu. “All good things come to an end. I’m not excited that my show is ending on Valentine’s Day, but I’m happy that I met great people and made good friends during the course of the show. I will always cherish everything I learnt from my senior co-actors,” says Rajput, who plays the lead in the show.

The actor now plans to revisit Wai, to relive the time she had spent there when her show had flagged off. “That schedule is so memorable. I loved the ghagras I wore and the way I loitered all over the fields and the village by lanes. It reminded me of the villages I have seen in Bihar. We would play on the sets all the time,” she reminisces. She adds that once the show’s sets shifted to Film City, Goregaon, she never went back to Wai.

Rajput says that she hasn’t had a holiday in a long time and she can finally take a much-needed breather as the show is wrapping up. “No actor regrets not having rested. I’ve never sat at home without work but I have some time on hand now. I will go back home, spend a few days eating food cooked by my mother, sleep peacefully and do whatever I like. I might even go backpacking and switch off my phone,” she says.

Rajput adds that there is at least a month before she starts shooting for Ratan Ka Rishta, her swayamvar show. “I’m not really on a long holiday. I will take breaks in between as I am keeping tabs on the entries that come in for my swayamvar. It’s a life-changing decision after all,” she says.
