Karthika has proved to be one gutsy young lady walking out of Sundar C's next film with Vishal, Madha Gadha Raja AKA MGR. The rookie's move may have stunned the industry but Sundar C, the veteran who is riding high after the success of Kalakalappu has opted to rope in Taapsee Pannu for the role without wasting any time.

"The script was revised and my character had no scope to perform than merely be a glam doll. Moreover a second heroine had also been included," said Karthika about opting out of MGR.

"I would work with Sundar C in the future if he came up with something interesting," she added.

Sundar C's MGR has been confirmed to be a two - heroine project and the other heroine's part is likely to go to Varalakshmi Sarath Kumar who is making her debut with Poda Podi or a newcomer.

Taapsee seems intent on making it big in the Tamil Industry and has accepted the role that was earlier turned down by Hansika and Karthika. The actor was recently in news, when she landed a role in Vishnuvardhan's film with Ajith, Arya and Nayantara. MGR will be the second hot film that Taapsee has signed in succession.

'Kalakalappu', a comedy caper directed by Sundar C with Vimal, Shiva, Santhanam, Anjali and Oviya in lead roles is running packed houses and those who have seen the flick would have also noticed the glamour quotient in the film besides laughing their f#cking a$$es out.

"I did not force Anjali and Oviya to wear glamorous costumes in Kalakalappu. I just explained them the demands of the script and the thorough professionals understood it," said Sundar C about the two leading ladies who were seen with an extra dosage of glamour.

Initially titled 'Masala Cafe', the film was rechristened as 'Kalakalappu' before its release worldwide. Following the stupendous response, the producers of the film have decided to go ahead with a sequel with exactly the same team.

Sundar C is currently busy filming Madha Gadha Raja with Vishal and Karthika and would turn his attention to the Kalalalappu II once this project is wrapped up.

Shooting for Kalakalappu 2 is scheduled to begin in October and Sundar C is expected to return with exactly the same team with Vimal, Shiva, Santhanam, Anjali and Oviya reprising their roles.

Trisha's love for her mother Uma Krishnan is an open secret.

The actor has time and had again expressed her affection towards her mother, saying that it was her mum who shaped her up into what she is now.

However on Mothers' Day on Sunday, Trisha was unable to be with her mother, as she was in Mysore, shooting for an advertisement. But this has not stopped Trisha from showering loads of love for her mother.

"To the person I love d most n d reason I am :) I love u Mum...Happy Mother's Day," wrote Trisha on her microblogging page. She telephoned her mother and wished him on the special day, we learn.

On the professional front, Trisha recently delivered a super hit in Tollywood with 'Dammu' also starring NTR Jr. and Karthika. The pretty lass is currently part of three Tamil movies, 'Samar' with Vishal, 'Endrendrum Punnagai' with Jiiva and 'Boologam' with 'Jayam' Ravi.

Actor Vishal is a busy boy now-a-days.

The actor is working round the clock to meet the shoot of his films. The first one is Samar, which also stars Trisha as the lead lady. The film is being directed by Thiru, who directed Vishal in Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai.

Apart from Samar, Vishal has signed up for a comedy film MGR, that will be directed by Sundar C, whose Kalakalappu is all set to release on May 11th. Karthika has signed up for the film, to play Vishal's love interest in Sundar C's Madha Gaja Raja AKA MGR.

After these two projects, Saravanan will direct Vishal for his upcoming action packed film Sandakozhi 2 that will be produced by Lingusamy.

Also there are rumours that, Vishal and Bala, who did Avan Ivan together might get-together again for another film.

Sada, the sexy lass who made her debut with Jayam Ravi in Jayam and later impressed her fans with films like Priyasakhi, Anniyan, Unnale Unnale and Puli Vesham is back after a hiatus.

The actor has now been roped in to perform an item number for Vishal's upcoming film with director Sundar c.

As reported earlier, director Sundar C. is back to directing movies and his 'Kalakalappu' that is to release later this month is a much anticipated laugh riot. He had recently announced of his next project also to be a comedy caper titled 'MGR' AKA 'Madha Gaja Raja' with Vishal and Karthika in the lead.

Sada, the sizzling seductress who has not signed any Tamil films recently is touted to shake her legs for an item song in 'MGR' with the tall and handsome Vishal.

Sada was concentrating on Kannada films, after her last Tamil film Puli Vesham did not do well in the box-office. It is also being reported that Sada gave her denial for several item numbers earlier, but now accepted MGR as this special number will be featured differently with an innovative concept.

Trisha and Karthika's film with Jr NTR Dammu is receiving a positive response from the audience.

The Tamil version of the film will be hitting the screens this Friday and Trisha has been repeatedly questioned about whether she and Karthika were rivals who will be competing for screen space as well as the leading man's affections.

Trisha laughed off such talk and urged fans to watch the film instead of speculating about it. She insisted that she and Karthika had good roles and there was no clash or any unpleasantness between them.

Karthika Nair, daughter of Radha makes decisions regarding her career in a very unconventional way.

The demure darling who made her cinematic debut in Telegu with 'Josh' triumphed after a hiatus with the Tamil hit 'Ko' that also performed well as 'Rangam' at the Telugu Box office. In a surprising move, Karthika however chose not to capitalize on her successes and has signed very few films.

The young actor's film with Jr NTR and Trisha, Dammu has taken a good opening and Karthika's winning streak continues.

About her bizarre career moves, Karthika said that she won't sign films just for the sake of it and wants to be associated only with quality films. Besides she is working on a Business degree from a Mumbai based college that is affiliated to the London School of Economics.

Karthika will next be seen opposite Vishal for Sundar C's Madha Gadha Raja.

Sundar C seems to have returned to direction with 'Masala Cafe' with Vimal, Shiva, Santhanam, Anjali and Oviya. It is old news that the movie has been wrapped and has been retitled 'Kalakalappu' before its audio release.

The film maker is back to what he does best and has completed his come back film in 90 days time.

Kalakalappu that has music by Vijay Ebenezer is now in news for its musical album that is been sold like hot cakes. This summer laugh riot is slated to be released on 11th May.

After this, Sundar C will begin work on his next film which is going to have Vishal in the lead. This project will be a romantic comedy and will have Karthika pairing with Vishal for the first time. The film has been titled 'Madha Gaja Raja' AKA MGR for short!

Ain't that an innovative title?

Reemma Sen who married hotelier Shiv Karan Singh last month is still going strong on the career front.

Reemma has been roped in for a powerful role in Vijay's maiden production venture for Ghilli Films, which is a remake of S.A Chandrasekhar's Sattam Oru Iruttarai.

Sneha, S.A Chandrasekhar's niece will be making her debut as the director with Vikram Prabhu and Karthika in the lead roles with Reemma Sen playing the cop in the story.

After Reemma's power packed performance in Aayirathil Oruvan, a lot can be expected from her with this role.

Trisha is one confident lady as she has gone on record to say that she is not threatened by any other actors rising in competition against her.

In fact, Trisha said that she had no problems working with Karthika Nair in 'Dammu', the NTR Jr. flick that is releasing Friday, the 27th April 2012.

Trisha is now likely to team up with Amala Paul for a film with Ravi Teja called Saar Vastaru.

Although nothing is official yet, the makers are very determined in roping Trisha and Amala Paul for their project. Ashwini Dutt, the producer along with her crew has approached both the heroines to be roped in for their film with Ravi Teja.

"The stars themselves are reported to be excited about the project as both of them have tailor-made roles in the film," reported our sources.

Vishal’s next film has been confirmed.

It will be a full-length comedy flick directed by Sundar C, who seems intent on returning to direction in a full-fledged manner.

Sundar C is currently doing the Vimal-Shiva-Santhanam starrer Kalakalappu, earlier titled Masala Café. The film is almost complete and he will move onto the Vishal starrer immediately. Vishal also will be ready after the completion of Samaran, his film with Trisha.

Casting for the new film has commenced and it has been confirmed that Ko fame Karthika will be seen along with Vishal. It is reported that Hansika was the original choice for the role but the team later thought that the huge difference in height between Vishal and Hansika might not be ideal. So, they went for a heroine whose height matches well with the tall Vishal, and that’s how Karthika bagged the role.

Music can do wonders and music director and singer George Peter has utilised the power of music to create unity in the country.

George Peter along with his friends has come up with a multi-lingual song and the final mixing and mastering of the same is happening in A.R Rahman’s studio. The major attraction of this song is that several big stars and singers have joined together to promote brotherhood and unity in diversity.

Going by the video that are in the social networking sites, the song features who’s who of film and music industry and that includes Vikram, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi, Sudeep, Vivek Oberoi, Zayed Khan, Asin, Karthika, Lakshmi Rai, Bhavana and Mamta. It also has sport stars Saina Nehwal and Sreesanth along with musicians K J Yesudas, Vikku Vinayakaram, Shankar Mahadevan, Blaaze, KS Chitra, Shwetha Mohan, Vasundhara Das, Usha Uthup, Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan and sons and Stephen Devassy.

Mani Ratnam's next film has been entitled Kadal and will feature, Karthik's son Gautham and Radha's younger daughter, Thulasi. It will be remembered by Tamil cinema fans that Karthik and Radha made their debut with Bharathiraja's beloved film, Alaigal Oyvadillai and now their children will be making their entry into films together.

Mani also considered Akshara Haasan and R. Parthiepan's daughter, Keerthana who worked with Mani in Kannathil Muthamital. But finally it has been confirmed that Thulasi will be Mani's heroine. Arjun has also been roped in for this film.

Karthika, the Ko girl, who is currently shooting in Hyderabad with Junior NTR and Trisha for 'Dhammu' sure knows how to choose her films.

Karthika is pursuing her Bachelors degree in Business from the London School of Economics.

The star kid is actually interested in the hotel business. She says, “I have not had much exposure to films as I was growing up in Mumbai.

My dad runs his hotel business. I wanted to study hotel management and join my dad’s business. Working in the hotel industry is still a dream of mine. I will work hard to make it big in the hotel industry as well.”

Karthika says that she has no intentions to get into films. Explainng how films just kind of happened to her she says, “Getting into films was never my ambition in life even though my mum is a renowned actress.

I studied Bharatnatyam for 10 years of my own interest. Films just came by. So far as films are concerned I don’t know much about acting.

My mother advised me not to study acting and to leave acting up to the directors, they would mould me. If I had studied acting it would have been tough for the directors to sculpt me into their characters.

I have worked with wonderful directors like K.V. Anand and Lenin. I am just a raw clay. They draw great work out of me.”

Karthika’s mother, veteran actress Radha, assists her with all her shoots. She is her mentor. Speaking about her rapport with her mom, she says, “Mum assists me in all my shoots but she never interferes with anything on the sets. She always wanted me to be a director’s artiste. She guides me and she is everything to me so far as films are concerned.”

Karthika shares her screen space with Trisha. Talking about working with her she says, “I adore Trisha. She is very cute, friendly and down to earth. We shot for a few days and it was lovely working with her,” and added "I'm excited about being paired with Junior NTR. He is such a talented star and has great regard for my mother. I have some good times on the sets.”

Karthika’s fans are eagerly awaiting her next Tamil film especially after the mega hit Ko. Talking about her Tamil films, she says,”After Ko I would have done a dozen films in Tamil as offers poured in. I am actually waiting for a great script like Ko. I will be working with Bharathiraja sir and the next film will be announced soon."

Asked if Mani Ratnam has approached her for his next flick, she says, “My sister has been approached for it as the script demanded a little girl for the role.”

Karthika was supposed to have acted in Ko with Simbu before Jiiva committed to the project. Trashing reports that she has been approached to work with Simbu for Vetrimaran’s project, She says, “I may work with Simbu in the future, but I have not been approached for Vetrimaran’s flick.”

Karthika, the young girl from Mumbai, is working hard to live up to her mum’s expectations. She says, “I will make my mark in films and live up to my mom’s reputation.”

It is a well know fact that STR was approached for Ko before Jiiva and the actor was even ready to start shooting for Ko being impressed with K.V. Anand's script, but yet STR chose Vaanam over Ko at the last moment despite everything.

Post the success of Ko, STR had stated that he did not regret his choice, even as Karthika and himself were expected to be the pair for the blockbuster hit. But the recent reports say that STR and Karthika have been approached to play the lead roles in Vetrimaran’s next film that is yet to be titled. Once more there are lots of expectations from this lead pair.

However, inside sources say that nothing about Vetrimaran’s film is confirmed yet. Infact, STR is believed to be waiting for Vetri’s confirmation regarding the project.

When we contacted yesteryear actress Radha, Karthika’s mother about the possible pairing, she confirmed, “Karthika will pair up with STR soon. She is currently shooting for 'Dhammu' with Junior NTR," adding that she was visibly excited for Karthika who is acting with the most inspirational heroes.

Karthika and Trisha are believed to be currently shooting for the film 'Dhammu' with Junior NTR.

Will Karthika's combination with STR work this time? Lets wait and watch.

Radha is apparently the brains behind daughter Karthika's smart career moves.

All thanks to Karthika's mother actress Radha that the daughter had dream launches both in Telugu and Tamil with super hits, Josh and Ko respectively.

The latest buzz was that Radha wanted to launch her second daughter Thulasi as well.

It was reported that Thulasi would be making her debut with Karthik's son, Gautam in a Mani Rathnam film.

It will be remembered that Radha herself made her debut with Karthik in Bharathiraja's famous film, Alaigal Oyvathilai. However, Radha has said that the reports were false and that her second daughter is too young to enter films. So for now she will focus on Karthika's career in addition to her hotel business.

Mani Rathnam meanwhile is still searching for a suitable heroine for Gautam.

"You will remember Kamal Haasan from Sathya when you look at him. He is a man of conviction and believes it's his duty to question the wrongdoers and help the helpless." This is exactly how Jiiva describes his character in Rowthiram, which hits screens today.

"It's a usual film, but director Gokul has brought in the element of difference through his way of filmmaking. It's a contemporary, no-nonsense film that will have the audience hooked," he says with confidence, "Despite being a debutant, Gokul had me hooked with his narration. He showed me videos of his previous works and explained how he was planning to shoot the film."

So, what is Rowthiram all about? "In pure Tamil, it means kovam. It's not about hopping mad with anger, but staying composed and thinking things through even when someone is angry. There's a saying - Tamizh oruvanai shantha padutthum. Tamizh oruvanukku rowthiram pazhakkum. The film talks about that kind of anger," he explains.

Despite being high on action, Jiiva says the film revolves around a cute love story. "People will not sit through a film if it lacks lighter moments. If Titanic was all about how a ship hit the iceberg and sank without a trace because the engine failed, it would have sank at the BO as well! The core of Rowthiram will be a love story between Shriya and me. It's a story that everyone can relate to and enjoy watching," he smiles.

Talking about Shriya, he says, "Despite having worked in several films with top actors, Shriya is down-to-earth. She gels well with everyone and is one whom you would call perfect heroine material."

Rowthiram was in the making for long and was even surrounded by controversies. But Jiiva says it was worth the wait. "It took us almost two years to complete the project. Some even thought that audiences would forget that a film called Rowthiram was being made! But, I'm confident that it will bring people to the theatres because it's a film worth watching. Be it the script, the cinematography, the music or the artists' performance, the audience will have a lot to look forward to," he signs off.

KV Anand's Ko starring Jiiva, Ajmal, Karthika and Piaa Bajpai has completed 50 days. Congratulations are pouring in from all sides for the team and they are soaking up the sweet taste of success. They have all earned a lot of respectand and fame within the industry; thanks to their film.

Jiiva who is red hot right now is especially thrilled. He was full of praise for his director and said that it was remarkable that Ko had managed to pull audiences to the theatres in the age of piracy and television serials. The actor also thanked his fans for their support.

Actress Karthika had a dream debut in Tamil with KO and she also got a head start in Telugu and Malayalam films. But, she has not received any exciting offers in Tamil after Ko and so now mother and daughter are looking for greener pastures it seems.

Bollywood Superstar Akshay Kumar liked KO so much he has decided to remake the film in Hindi. On hearing this, Radha met him and has requested him to let Karthika reprise her role as a feisty journalist. Apparently, Akshay Kumar graciously conceded to her request.

Udayanidhi Stalin, the distributor of Ko, has said that some people are very upset about Ko’s success. He added that he feels very sorry for them and wished them luck next time. Though the producer-distributor-actor did not disclose the names of all those whom he thinks are upset about Ko’s success, there are strong speculations about whom he is referring to.

Sources say that Udayanidhi has referred to Silambarasan as he was the first choice of director KV Anand to play the lead role but it went to Jiiva following some differences.

Meanwhile, the film is being appreciated by movie buffs all over the world and has already been declared a hit.
