Hrithik Roshan, who plays a superhero in 'Krrish II, has decided to help his father Rakesh Roshan in the direction department.

Hrithik is now going to be the associate director for the sequel to Krish that started rolling December 1st at Filmistan Studios with Vivek Oberoi, Kangna Ranaut and Priyanka Chopra.

This is not the first time that the actor has stepped behind the camera for his father. Hrithik was an assistant director to Roshan Sr. for his films like 'Koyla' and 'Karan Arjun'. Apart from this, he has helped his father out whenever the two have made a film together.

The first schedule of the film started on December 1st and Hrithik was not a part of the first schedule but has come on the sets to take part in the direction process.

Hrithik will join the cast in front of the camera from the second schedule.

Kangna Ranaut, who has set the screen ablaze with a variety of screen characters from supermodel to a small-town girl, is now all set to play India's first female sci-fi character in Rakesh Roshan's sequel to Krrish.

Kangna was the original choice for this role and was approached by the superhit filmmaker six months ago. However, owing to her other commitments, she had declined the offer. Destiny had other plans. Rakesh Roshan, who subsequently approached a number of other actresses, found himself back at square one because talks with all his other choices fell through. And, Kangna, the original choice is now the supergirl in Krrish 2.

Two simultaneous movies facilitated Kangna's entry into this superhero franchise. First the shooting of her film Dedh Ishqya was pushed to early next year. Second, Roshan himself moved the shooting of the Krrish sequel to December this year. So, when the offer came to Kangna a second time over, she was delighted to accept the movie with Hrithik Roshan.

One knows that Kangna has essayed roles that deal with fine human emotions, be it her role as a diva in Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, a bindaas small town girl in Tanu Weds Manu or a supermodel in Fashion with elan.

"Moving to a sci-fi character that draws its inspiration from superwomen like Wonder Woman or Supergirl was a challenge and a natural progression for an actress who loves challenges. She's embarked on a rigorous training schedule which includes an intense martial arts programme. She believes the role is going to be a lot of fun and is looking forward to this," says sources close to the actress.

Vivek Oberoi is making sure that he finished his training that will equip him to fly a plane before he starts shooting for Krrish 2. It is learnt that he will be doing some daredevil aerial stunts for the climax scene with Hrithik Roshan in the next Rakesh Roshan movie.

A well-placed source told us that Vivek has enrolled at a flying institute in Florida, US. And as and when he can, he takes off, to complete his flying hours before he can get his license.

"Considering the curiosity surrounding the next Krissh sequel, the production house is trying to keep things under wraps as the film starts shooting later this November," said our informer, adding that Vivek too, is being cautious about not letting out any information.

Reportedly, his character is inspired from Patrick Stewart's Professor Charles Xavier in the Hollywood's X-Men series. Interestingly, there's a mutant angle in the Rakesh Roshan directed movie as Chitrangada Singh's character is based on Mystique, who can transform herself completely into another individual.

Another source revealed that the actor is relegated to the wheelchair for a considerable portion of the film. "He can move only his hands for a major part of the movie.

But later, he is cured and gains mobility before the action-filled climax," says the source, adding that this is when he flies a plane for the confrontational sequences.

Interestingly, Professor X, as Charles Xavier is also called in the X-Men series, also has a special plane for himself and his team. Maybe that's the inspiration for the producer-director, who's also said to be planning a specially designed aircraft for Vivek's character in the movie.
