After finishing a shot for Thaandavam, Lakshmi Rai had casually asked Vikram how many heroines he has in Thaandavam. Vikram took this chance to play a prank on the Lakshmi and showed her pictures he took with Reemma Sen and Shriya Saran in his mobile phone to answer her question.

After seeing those pictures, Lakshmi Rai panicked and complained to Vikram that she wasn’t even informed that there are so many actresses in Thandavam and that she would not have accepted the film if she had known about this earlier. Acting very surprised Vikram called Vijay and inquired about the issue very seriously. Taking a cue from the actor, Vijay played along. An upset Lakshmi Rai kept bashing the director, until Vikram and Vijay started laughing. The actor who was last seen in the Telugu hit 'Adhinayakudu' opposite Nandamuri Balakrishna left her fans behind asking for after she did what she does best looking glamorous on screen.

Lakshmi Rai seems to be in no hurry in signing all the projects that come her way and currently has A.L Vijay's Thaandavam in hand co-starring Vikram, Anushka, Amy Jackson and Jagapathi Babu.

In this scenario, the curvaceous damsel bagged another biggie, when Actor/Director Raghava Lawrence honored his word and kept his promise to rope Lakshmi Rai for Kanchana Part 2, the sequel of Muni (2007) and Kanchana (2011).

George Peter along with his friends has come up with a multi-lingual song and the final mixing and mastering of the same is happening in A.R Rahman’s studio. The major attraction of this song is that several big stars and singers have joined together to promote brotherhood and unity in diversity.

It also has sport stars Saina Nehwal and Sreesanth along with musicians K J Yesudas, Vikku Vinayakaram, Shankar Mahadevan, Blaaze, KS Chitra, Shwetha Mohan, Vasundhara Das, Usha Uthup, Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan and sons and Stephen Devassy.

After scorching the screen in Mankatha, Lakshmi Rai is very careful about choosing her projects.

Recently, the actress chose to opted out of two Tamil films saying that the roles were not meaty. However, the recent news is that the actress is busy acting in multiple languages including Hindi.

It is reported that Ankush Bhatt who directed Bhindi Baazaar Inc. is keen to rope in Lakshmi Rai for the yet to be titled film, which also has Mallika Sherawat.

Lakshmi Rai is currently busy acting in Kalpana, a Kannada film and Adhinayakudu in Tollywood.

Actress Lakshmi Rai has come a long way after her debut in 2005 with the Tamil film Karka Kasadara. She is indeed considered as one of the actors who are ready to bare. Sizzling as usual, "What is wrong in wearing a bikini?," she asks stating "If you have a good body, you might as well want to flaunt it!”

Fresh with the success of Kanchana, Lakshmi Rai is ready to entertain the audience with her latest film Adhinayakudu starring Telugu Superstar Balakrishna in the lead.

Lakshmi Rai, about her film with the Telugu superstar, has shared her excitement of being part of the prestigious project directed by Parachuri Murali.

Talking about the experience of working with Balakrishna, Lakshmi Rai has praised the actor to heavens for his simplicity and down-to-earth attitude. Despite being a star, he never shows his tantrums and behaves like a gentleman on the sets, claims the actress.

Lakshmi Rai further adds that she has a good role in Adhinayakudu. Parachuri Murali has written a wonderful script, which has scope for every actor in the film.

Lakshmi Rai hopes that the mega-budget film Adhinayakudu also featuring Jayasudha, Sukanya, Saloni, Kota Srinivasa Rao and others in the cast manages to impress the audience as expected.

Lakshmi Rai who was very happy after the success of Kanchana has now settled in Chennai because her next film Mankatha has become a block buster.

Lakshmi Rai is now not only enjoying her success for the first time but also the pleasure of accepting offers ahead. She has decided to settle down in Chennai in order to retain her place that she's now reached and is unwilling to concentrate in Hindi and Telugu films.

The eyes of Young directors’ have finally fallen on Lakshmi Rai's house that is rented Saligramam. She is listening to a story every day, not in her rented house that is meant for her stay but in a star hotel sentimentally where she listened the story of Kanchana.

The success of Mankatha seems to have gone into the heads of its female stars, as they have taken a warpath to have the upper hand over each other.

The controversy broke out after Lakshmi Rai claimed that the director offered her the choice of characters between Ajith Kumar’s girlfriend and Sona for which Trisha Krishnan has shot back by saying that the former’s statement is ‘silly’.

Lakshmi Rai has said that she told Venkat Prabhu to explain about both the characters in which she felt that Sona’s character was meaty. It is because she would have to be part of two songs adding to that the actress was to be in the climax of Mankatha. Hence, she opted for the role.

Reacting to her claims, Trisha Krishnan says that she frankly believes that it will be funny for her to answer to Lakshmi Rai’s comments. The actress wonders why the Kanchana actress is raising the issue now. Mankatha might have 3-4 heroines but the fact is that Ajith Kumar’s love interest can only appear in the publicity materials.

Meanwhile, Venkat Prabhu has something other to say. The filmmaker says that Lakshmi Rai is confused. She was roped in to play the female lead role in the original script, where she was supposed to pair Ashwin. But plans got changed after Ajith Kumar came on-board.

The director admitted that he had to change the script after Thala signed the project. As the movie bosses had given an advance to Lakshmi Rai, they decided to retain her in the film by giving Sona’s role in Mankatha.

Venkat Prabhu further adds that Trisha Krishnan was roped in to pair up Ajith Kumar. He ends by saying that he feels sad for Lakshmi Rai but expresses his unhappiness for letting her co-stars down.

Lakshmi Rai has become a red hot sensation after delivering two mega hits – Kanchana and Mankatha. Her negative role in Mankatha especially has made people sit up and take notice.

The success of Mankatha has now led to a demand for the actress all of a sudden and to everybody's surprise the actress is suddenly unavailable and says she cannot sign any new Tamil films for the moment.

The reason is simple. Actress Lakshmi Rai has already committed her dates for films in Malayalam, Kannada, and Telugu and has to finish these projects first before taking up any new ones.

Commenting on the situation, the actress feels that the break will do her good as the fans will miss her and want more of her. Lakshmi Rai is definitely sitting pretty at the moment.

Kanchana, the sequel to Muni has earned good table profits in Telugu and its producer is now a happy man as the film turned out to be a bigger hit than it was expected.

It is to be noted that the dubbing formalities for the films's telugu version was completed in a swift manner and the film was released a week earlier than its original in Tamil.

"After Arundhati and Chandramukhi our film 'Kanchana' had earned a lot of craze among the audiences," says producer Bellamkonda Suresh. He had recently gifted Raghava Lawrence with a Benz car - not just for having directed Kanchana towards her success but also for bagging an offer to direct a Telugu movie with Prabhas in the lead.

Kanchana, the sequel to Muni has Raghava Lawrence in the lead with Lakshmi Rai, Kovai Sarala, Sriman and Devadarshini in the cast with Supreme Star Sarath Kumar as Kanchana.

Director Venkat Prabhu is relieved. He apologized to the fans for the delay and said that it was a mammoth task to coordinate the dates of the ensemble cast that included Ajith, Arjun, Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Andrea, Premji, and Vaibhav.

Yuvan Shankar Raja is working like a fiend to complete the songs since the director has promised the audio launch will be held this month so that the film can have an August release.

Dubbing, editing, and other post production work is going on at full swing. Producer Dhayanidhi Alagiri said he is proud of Mankatha and everything from the music to the performances is exceptionally good.
