Actor Richa Gangopadhyay got a pleasant surprise recently when she was presented with a 'Fashion Diva' award at the Southspin Fashion awards 2012.

The hot looking actor was honored with the 'Fashion Diva' award for her unbiased ethnic look in the STR starrer 'Osthe' - a Tamil remake of the Hindi blockbuster 'Dabangg' that starred Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.

The actor will be next seen in the Goutham Menon produced 'Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum' and has been signed up for a couple of Telugu projects each with 'Rebel Star' Prabhas and 'Mass Maharaja' Ravi Teja.

Richa's next outing in Tamil is the Venkat Prabhu diet 'Biriyani' opposite Karthi in the lead. This biggie that is expected to release by the end of this year would feature newly married couple Sneha and Prasanna sharing screen space with Director Mysskin donning the grease paint to play the villain in the film.

Looks like Richa is progressing pretty good pace even on her career front.

Multiplexes by Sathyam Cinemas are coming up all over Chennai.

Recently, the leading group of SPI Cinemas inaugurated S2 Perambur that is now serving as the destination for an incredible yet affordable movie going experience, in a setting that is truly inspirational.

With interiors of each screen equipped with state- of-the-art technology, S2 provides its audience with an experience that cannot be matched.

Another multiplex S2 Theyagaraja, Thiruvanmiyur by SPI Cinemas was expected to open on August 15th with AttaKathi and Ek Tha Tiger, but did not for unknown reasons.

S2 Theyagaraja, Thiruvanmiyur now looks all set for a grand opening with one of the screens showing Mysskin's 'Mugamoodi' and the other showing 2 shows of Vijay Antony's 'Naan' and Shirish Kunder's 'Joker'.

UTV south chief Dhananjayan Govind and producer of Mysskin’s Mugamoodi confirmed the news with his tweet on the microblogging social network website Twitter.

Mysskin’s super hero film is all set to release on Friday the 31st.

In a pre-release press meet of the film, director Mysskin expressed how he is looking at the overall product comparing 'Mugamoodi' to old MGR films, where MGR even after getting thrashed severely by the villain, rises again and defeats the evil.

“Jiiva plays people’s savior in 'Mugamoodi'. He gets beaten up to death but still rises up with hope for the ultimate face off like the old films of MGR days. That is exactly how I have made this film and it doesn’t look bad at all,” opened up director Mysskin.

“I don’t mind people watching this film on pirated DVDs. It is just that it will not look good and you will finally end up watching the film in theaters. So, I would recommend you to save that 20 bucks you spend on pirated DVDs and watch it in theaters,” advised the director.

UTV Motion Pictures's 'Mugamoodi' is about Anand (Jiiva), a man who turns into a vigilante to fight corruption and injustice for a better society. Directed by Mysskin and starring Jiiva, Narain and Pooja Hegde in the lead, the K-town Superhero is awaiting release on August 31, 2012.

Actor Narain, Mysskin's protagonist from his previous movies like Chithiram Pesuthadi and Anjathe has been roped in to play the remorseless villain 'Angusamy/Dragon' in the film. While 'Angusamy' is a calm and composed martial arts teacher, his alter ego 'Dragon' is the brutal villain who goes on a murder spree.

"Dragon is evil through and through. You would've never seen such a terrible fierce monster in Tamil cinema before. There is not one single aspect about him that is good and I believe that the role would add an interesting shade to my career," said actor Narain revealing about his role in the film that he expects to put his career in Tamil cinema back on track.

The actor mentioned that he cherishes his experiences with Jiiva and Mysskin during the making of the film and added that he would never play a villain again in the near future atleast till he is more established in the Tamil industry.

UTV is currently busy with two of the most promising projects in the pipeline, Mugamoodi and Thaandavam. Both of these teams are now working on tight deadlines and UTV is also giving their best to support these teams as they get ready for release.

Mugamoodi is being planned for censorship next week. The film is set for an August 31st release and the entire shoot has been wrapped up including the song shoots in exotic European locales.

UTV's Dhananjayan updated so, in his micro-blogging page.

Jiiva is staying up nights shooting for his upcoming superhero film 'Mugamoodi' with director Mysskin.

The makers of the film have splurged about the outcome of Jiiva's superhero costume and word is that it looks absolutely awesome on the Superhero of the script.

Jiiva however finds his costume to be uncomfortably heavy and hot shooting in summer and joked that he feels like a chicken wrapped in aluminium foil to be grilled slowly to death.

"Jokes aside? the shoot is going great. I can't wait to see myself as the Superhero on bigscreen," said Jiiva adding that the film's response towards its final outcome is something that he awaits.

Mugamoodi, produced by UTV Motion pictures and directed by Mysskin stars Jiiva and Narain as the Protagonist and Antagonist of the film with debutante Pooja Hegde, second runner up of the 2011 Miss Universe India beauty pageant as the female lead.

Pooja Hegde, who is currently shooting for her debut Tamil film Mugamoodi plays a news reporter and the Super Hero's love interest in the film. She is expecting a good outing as both Jiiva and Mysskin are wellknown for their substantial films rather than doling the run-of-the-mill stuff.

Director Mysskin's Mugamoodi that started rolling on 12th December with Jiiva and Narain in the lead would have Jiiva playing the role of a super hero, becoming Tamil cinema's first super hero.

Mugamoodi will be the first super hero movie for UTV in Tamil.

Narain, who has earlier worked with Mysskin in the blockbuster Anjathey, will play the villain. Narain and Jiiva recently underwent special martial arts training with experts flown in from China.

A super hero lies in every one of us; this forms the basic crux of Mugamoodi. It is said that consultants from IIT will create hi-end gadgets for the film and the super hero costumes will be designed by selected teams from NIFT.

Femina Miss India finalist Pooja Hegde debuts as the heroine opposite Jiiva with Mugamoodi, that is expected to grace theatres in 2012.

Amala Paul was initially said to play the female lead in Mysskin's superhero flick 'Mugamoodi' with Jiiva in the lead and now she has opted out of it.

Instead of Amala, model turned actress Pooja Hegde has been signed up to make her acting debut as the lead opposite Jiiva. Pooja was adjudged as the runner-up in the Miss Universe – India contest held recently.

Narain will play a negative role in this film directed by Mysskin and produced by UTV Motion Pictures.

The shooting of Mugamoodi will commence from September onwards and the director is planning a teaser trailer in the meantime.

UTV Motion Pictures is all set to produce Mugamoodi, to be directed by Mysskin. The director is supposed to have written this script with Suriya in mind but couldn’t join hands with him for various reasons.

The director then had a discussion with Arya and later also with Vishal, but again the project failed to start until Jiiva agreed to play the lead in this Super Hero flick.

According to sources, Jiiva who is now flying high with the stupendous success of KO has been signed by UTV for this ambitious venture and was looking for someone equally famous to play the baddie opposite him and Actor Narain who debuted with Mysskin's Chithiram Pesuthadi seems to have accepted the role.

UTV’s Dhananjayan had said that Narain’s role will be a very powerful one and has thanked him for accepting the negative role, as it will be a deviation from his hero status.

Jiiva is on a roll and there in no stopping him. Ko has enhanced his star status considerably and he has filmmakers queuing up to sign him on for their projects. But Jiiva is not one to grab everything that comes his way and he is waiting for the right scripts.

When Mysskin approached him with a project he has dreamed of making for a long time, Jiiva was floored and agreed at once.

The film will be called Mugamoodi and it is going to be a superhero flick, the first of its kind in Tamil Nadu. A Mumbai based production house has agreed to bankroll this mega venture, so it is time for Jiiva and Mysskin to rock and roll!
