In the coming episode of Simi’s chat show 'Simi Selects India's Most Desirable,' Bollywood’s noted actor Abhay Deol would be making a confession about his personal life. The actor is said to have revealed that he might not get married but settle down in a live in relationship.
The actor, who is in a live in relationship with his girlfriend, model-turned-actress Preeti Desai, said that he has no plans to get married in the future.
“I think marriage is a cultural thing, it's my opinion that nature doesn't tell someone to get married. I may or may not get married but I will settle down in a live-in,” said the actor on the show.
London-based model-actress Preeti Desai, who is making her Bollywood debut with " Shor In The City", says she is more troubled by her Gujarati accent rather than her British one.
"As soon as I came to India, I started working on my Hindi. I can speak Hindi, but with an accent - not so much of an English accent, but more of a Gujarati accent," said Preeti.
She is now taking lessons to improve her chances of getting work in the Hindi film industry.
"Shor In The City" will release April 29.
She has made history, becoming the first woman of color - a British Indian - to win the title of Miss Great Britain. Now she has made all the way to Bollywood, already starring in upcoming movie, Balaji Telefilms Shor in the City co-starring the Hollywood actor Sendhil Ramamuthry. Preeti Desai is her name, newly working her way up B-Town's lane, all thanks to advice imparted to her by the famous SRK, yes THE SRK!
True indeed, as sources suggest, is the fact that London based Preeti Desai initially considered coming down to India to give acting a shot, because that is what - 'The Badshah of Bollywood' - Shah Rukh Khan himself suggested to her. Apparently Shah Rukh knows a family friend of Preeti, through whom he met her, which is when he advised her to come down to India and give acting a shot, recommending that she join Anupam Kher's acting classes called 'Actor Prepares'.
Already having her own share of the celebrity life, former 'Miss Great Britain' seriously considered working on the thought and next thing you know, Shor in the City happens.
Preeti Desai, who won the Miss Great Britain title in 2006, is all set to make a bold debut in the Bollywood. Preeti is a British-Indian, and was the cover girl of “Cosmopolitan”, “L’Officiel”, “Grazia”, “G2" magazines. In India, she has done several television commercials for Cadbury, LG, Hero Honda, Citibank, Nokia. Sendhil Ramamurthy, better known as geneticist Mohinder Suresh of “Heroes”, will be seen opposite Preeti in the film. Sendhil’s origin is Kannada and Tamil, but he is born and brought up in Chicago. He has acted in films like “Love & Debate”, “Blind Dating”, “Orient Express”, “Little India”. Sendhil also starred in television programs “Ellen”, “Casualty”, “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Ultimate Force”, “Numbers”.
Preeti’s launch pad in Bollywood is a Balaji’s film named “Shor In The City”. It is a thriller drama based on the urban scenario. Three stories acted in the film, are loosely interrelated. Preeti and Sendhil have shot a love-making scene for the film very passionately without any shyness. The director Raj Nidimoru and Krishna, shot the particular scene twice, to make it more passionate.
The film won appraisal from international film festivals. But, as this film is going to be released in India, on April twenty eighth, Preeti wants the love-making scene to be downsized. But, may be in the final version the scenes wont be clipped.
