Manganiello depressed over Superman

Actor Joe Manganiello says he was "severely depressed" after missing out on playing Superman because filming clashed with his work on True Blood.

The 34-year-old was asked to audition for the role of the iconic superhero in Zack Snyder's forthcoming reboot 'Superman: Man of Steel' but because of his date issues the part eventually went to Henry Cavill, reported Contactmusic.

"This was back in January. I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't (upset)... I was really, severely depressed for a few months. For a few months afterwards.

"Because I really thought the direction they were taking the movie and the character, I really thought I had a great idea where to take that and I was very excited and I just wanted to try out my ideas and things. But, you know, it just wasn't meant to be. I never got to put on the suit," Manganiello said.

The unofficial set of photographs for the upcoming movie in the series have been doing the rounds for sometime, now Warner Bros have officially unveiled the look of Henry Cavill as the new Man of Steel.

After the much-anticipated teaser for The Dark Knight Rises was unveiled by Warner Bros, fans had been waiting with bated breath for Henry Cavill's Superman avtaar in Man of Steel.

The movie is being made at a budget of $175 million and its release date was pushed back from December 2012 to June 2013, which was surprising as the look of the new Superman was unveiled today.

Earlier the lead actor, Henry Cavill had said that he had to get into shape for the role, previously played by Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh, and he was eating "far more than usual" to gain the required muscle mass.

"I'm on 5,000 calories a day. I'm training two-and-a-half hours a day, pushing my body beyond its normal limits, putting on a lot of muscle to make myself look like Superman," the actor said.

Incidentally, the actor also has his eyes as playing James Bond should the opportunity arise.

"If they approached me on that I'd leap at the opportunity to do it. But that's of course well away for the time being," said Cavill.

The Zack Snyder movie will be a reboot of the series and would co-star Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Laurence Fishburne.

Freida sexes it up

Freida Pinto is now the new envy of women earning the wrath of women from across the globe to her opportunity to have sexed up with Henry Cavill, the star of the new Superman movie 'Man of Steel'.

Pinto and Henry Cavill are cast together for the upcoming action tale 'Immortals' and had shot a sex scene for the film. They wound up getting acquainted quickly as the film went under production and it is said that it only helped in getting each love scene that was shot for the film.

Director Tarsem Singh reported that the sex scene was the first thing shot for the film on the first day of filming.

Singh said that it was embarrassing for them because Pinto and Cavill were just told "Get on the bed." Pinto disagrees. "How can it be embarrassing?" Pinto said. "It was with Henry."

A tale of battle about ancient gods and Greek warrior Theseus (Cavill), "Immortals" arrives in theaters in November.

Tarsem's directorial debut was with The Cell that starred Jennifer Lopez. He is acclaimed for the 2005 Pepsi commercial that saw the combination of gladiators with the song "We will rock you". Enrique, Britney Spears and Beyonce were part of that popular commercial.
