Lingusamy is planning to remake his Arya-Madhavan starrer Vettai in Hindi.

The director had approached Asin to reprise the role of Sameera Reddy, who played the wife of Madhavan and elder sibling of Amala Paul in the film.

But Asin seems to have turned down the offer.

“Right now I’m not ready to take up films that have multiple heroines. I definitely cannot do the role of an elder sister. And I also have some date issues,” said Asin justifying her decision to turn down Lingusamy.

It is reliably learnt that Hansika Motwani has been roped in to play the lead opposite Naga Chaitanya in his next flick. This film directed by Kishore is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster 'Vettai' that had Arya and Amala Paul in the lead roles.

The baby faced actress is currently busy shooting for Tamil films 'Settai', 'Vaalu' and 'Vettai Mannan' and also has Singam II in her kitty. The actor's last Telugu release was the Siddharth starrer, "Oh My Friend" that failed to live up to the expectations at the Box Office.

This yet to be titled Telugu remake of 'Vettai' will have Naga Chaitanya playing the role enacted by Arya and Hansika paired opposite him for the first time. Sunil has agreed to play Naga Chaitanya's brother in the movie and the filmmakers are currently looking for another female lead to be cast opposite him.

Bellamkonda Suresh is producing the movie that is set to start shooting from the last week of June.

Sources close to the producer say that an official announcement is on the way.

Gautham Menon was utterly saddened by a report made a famous newspaper that said he blames his actors for his failure in bollywood.

In a letter to the editor of the newspaper, the Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya director said, “It's unfair for a reputed newspaper to put out an article based on hearsay and constructed out of another article that itself didn’t quite report the exact words I had used.” He also added, “All it takes is a phone call and you would have got my views on the same before putting out the article.”

The daily had quoted that the director pointed out Madhavan’s obesity and Prateik’s lack of lusture as the causes for his two Hindi films’ to fail. However, the director in his letter has washed off this article as “wrongly reported”. He also made it clear in his letter that as the daily is writing articles that has no base, he wouldn’t be willing to share any details or even talk to their reporters anymore.

Lingusamy's plans to remake his hit film Vettai in Hindi ran into troubled waters when there were problems encountered with the dialogues being translated into Hindi.

Lead actor, Shahid Kapoor said he will continue with the project only if they agreed to rope in a good Hindi dialogue writer. UTV and Lingusamy immediately brought in Prasoon Joshi and thanks to this clever move recommended by Shahid, everything started to go smoothly.

A visibly relieved Lingusamy said "It was a big load off my mind since I do not speak Hindi and I am still trying to understand the market". Shooting will begin in June. Ali Zafar will be playing Madhavan's role. Asked about the heroines, Lingusamy said, "Ileana D'Cruz is almost finalized to play the female lead".

Ileana may just agree to play the lead role in Lingusamy's Bollywood debut with Shahid Kapoor. This venture produced by UTV Motion Pictures is a remake of the Tamil hit 'Vettai' that had Arya, Madhavan, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul in the lead roles.

The Hindi remake of 'Vettai' which will also be produced by UTV Motion Pictures will have Shahid Kapoor and Ali Zafar reprising the roles made popular by Arya and Madhavan respectively.

It may be recalled that Lingusamy initially wanted Ileana opposite Arya for 'Vettai' but unfortunately things did not work out that he had to settle for Amala Paul.

There were reports earlier that Amala Paul may just get her Bollywood ticket this early in her career with the B-town remake of 'Vettai,' but if reports are to be believed, the director has requested Ileana to keep her dates free for the Hindi remake to have her romance Shahid in the role originally enacted by Amala Paul.

Lingusamy is ready to begin shooting for the film in May and the first schedule will he held in Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. Now all that remains is for the makers to finalize the rest of the cast too.

Madhavan's hectic schedule had taken a toll on his health especially his knees.

Having wrapped up work, Maddy is taking a break pottering around at home, relaxing and doing physiotherapy to get his troublesome knees back in shape. It is painful going and Maddy said that he should not have put off treatment for so long as he has wound up slowing down the healing process.

Maddy has taken up gardening and is also cooking up a storm at home. The actor has been gifting friends and family, fruits and veggies grown in his own garden and needless to say everyone is touched with his thoughfulness. After this much needed period of rest and relaxation, Maddy will be back to what he does best - acting!

At the Vettai press meet, director Lingusamy said that he is satisfied with the way the film has shaped up and is waiting for the audiences’ reaction.

When asked Lingusamy, if he was planning to remake the film in Hindi, Lingusamy said that he intends to remake 'Vettai' with Salman Khan reprising Madhavan’s role and Ranbir Kapoor in Arya’s character.

Vettai has Arya, Madhavan, Sameera Reddy, Amala Paul and others in the star cast. Yuvan Shankar Raja scored the music for this film.

Director Lingusamy is looking to strike gold in Bollywood and he feels that Vettai would be his ticket.

The director is planning to remake Vettai in Hindi and talks are on with Salman Khan to essay the role played by Arya in Vettai.

If sources are to be believed this remake would mark the Bollywood debut of director Lingusamy and the pretty lady Amala Paul who may be considered for the lead role in the Hindi version as well. There would be an official confirmation on the cast once the stars for the roles played by Sameera Reddy and Madhavan are finalized.

Vettai starring Arya, Amala Paul, Madhavan and Sameera Reddy has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja and is slated for release this Pongal.

Amala Paul is extremely thrilled with the audio launch of two of her films happening in the same week.

While Vettai’s audio launch is to happen on December 16th, Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal’s audio will be released on December 18th. The actress calls it as the icing on the cake as two important events are scheduled in the same week.

Amala Paul plays Atharva’s leading lady in Muppozhudhum Un Karpanaigal and in Vettai she shares the screen space with Arya, Madhavan and Sameera Reddy.

With Vettai’s release date set for December 23rd, the team is racing against time to finish off the shooting.

After the Diwali break, the unit assembled in Karaikudi to shoot the remaining portions before beginning the post-production work.

Lingusamy, the director of Vettai and the rest of the team members are currently stationed in Karaikudi, confirms the film's producer UTV Motion Pictures’ Dhananjayan.

Vettai is a multi-lingual film starring Arya, Madhavan, Sameera Reddy, Amala Paul and others. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for this film.

Hardly one month after the sequel to the matrimonial comedy Tanu Weds Manu was announced, the audiences were expecting the same cast, Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan, to star in lead roles of the sequel as well!

However, reports are now suggesting that though Kangana Ranaut will still be cast in the sequel, R Madhavan might be left out! A source revealed a tabloid that initially the producers wanted to cast the same couple for the sequel as well. They felt that there was uniqueness in their pair and they wanted to retain that charm created in the first part.

However, R Madhavan reportedly quoted a huge amount and raised his fee by a big margin. The producers felt that they can rather sign an A-listed Bollywood star at the same price! Not only this, a bigger male lead would take the scale of the movie to newer heights.

And since the time the news has broken out, there have been speculations that if not Madhavan, then who will be cast in the sequel! Well, we’ll keep you informed. Watch this space for more.

After the success of the superhit romantic comedy Tanu Weds Manu, director Aanand L. Rai is all set to make a sequel of the film.

The sequel is to be produced by Eros International.

"I am thrilled to join hands with Eros on this film. I am confident that together with Eros, we will make some very entertaining cinema. I hope to recreate the same magic with the sequel and reach out to global audience," Rai said in a statement.

The details on the film including cast and crew is yet to be finalised and will be announced shortly.

Tanu Weds Manu, which released Feb 25 this year, starred R. Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut in the lead.

Her transition from neurotic roles to romcoms has been smooth. Today, Kangna Ranaut is earning praise for her glamorous new avatar. The actor, who has been reticent about clearing the air over the staggering 5 crore that she is charging for Mile Na Mile Hum and her fallout with Sanjay Dutt, gives us her side of the story.

Is it true that Anjana Sukhani has replaced you in Ram Gopal Varma's Department?
I think that's a question for RGV.

Why did you choose to do Dedh Ishqiya with Abhishek Chaubey? Will it be easy stepping into Vidya Balan's shoes in the Ishqiya sequel?
I am excited about the film, but it's too early to talk about it right now. But I must say that the script is very strong and my character in the film is fantastic.

There are reports that you had a fallout with Sanjay Dutt, after walking out of the remake of Satte Pe Satta.
Not at all! Sanjay sir is a senior actor. I've done three films with him and hope to do more. Satte Pe Satta was never confirmed in the first place.

You are labelled as Katrina Kaif's competition in Bollywood? What's your take on that?
I think Katrina has done some very good work and so have I. But my choices in the industry have been very unusual, so I don't think that my body of work can be compared to anyone else's career.

In an age when item numbers help an actor gain instant popularity, why don't you want to do them?
Never say never! But yes, at present I'm certainly not drawn to item numbers.

Is it true that you charged 5 crore for Chirag Paswan's Mile Na Mile Hum?
I've asked for what I deserve and I have got it.

You are one of the few actors with a great comic timing - will we see more such roles from you, post Tanu weds Manu ?
I certainly hope so. TWM has been my favourite film so far, and with Double Dhamaal becoming a hit, I think audiences have started liking me in this comic avatar!

Sameera Reddy has made an impact in Tamil cinema but so far she has been unfortunate in finding the perfect onscreen match.

In her debut film, Vaaranam Aayiram, Divya Spandana gets Suriya. In Asal, she was part of a two heroine project with Bhavana, so she had limited screen time with Ajith. Then in Nadunissi Naigal, her boyfriend gets killed by a psychopath who is obsessed with her.

Sameera up next has Vettai with Arya and Maddy next, but that is also a two heroine project where she shares screen space with Amala Paul.

But finally, it seems her luck has changed and she will be seen opposite Vishal in Vedi which is her first solo heroine project. Besides, everybody is saying that they make a great couple as they are both tall and have dusky good looks.

Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul play sisters in Vettai, says report from Kollywood. Interestingly, it is Sameera playing the eldest sister of the two.

The two heroes in this flick are Madhavan and Arya. While Arya plays the youngest and Madhavan is the one elder to him.

According to grapevine, Vettai is a family saga with loads of sentiments, action, romance and emotions.

Lingusamy is directing this flick, which is produced by his home production Tirupati Brothers. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music and Nirav Shah has handled the camera for Vettai.

While everyone thinks that Madhavan doesn’t have a big role in ‘Vettai’ as he plays just the brother’s role of Arya, Lingusamy comes up for the clarification saying that he has a mighty role just like Arya.

Lingusamy says “When I approached Madhavan for the brother’s role, he was quite reluctant as he didn’t want to don such roles, at least not yet. But soon after hearing the script, he apologized on realizing how much he would have regretted for missing this role.

As per sources, there is this particular scene where Madhavan would be chased by a group of baddies rushing behind him towards a subway and pull down the shutter. Madhavan comes up with a punch dialogue saying ‘Dae Enakkae Shuttera? (It is the most important scene in ‘Run’). Mark my words, the theatres will flood with irresistible applause for this scene.”

Amala Paul has had an enviable career that has seen her come within touching distance of the top spot. She says that her stratagem to stay ahead of the curve is very simple. Rather than sign any and all films that come her way out of insecurity or a need to fatten her bank balance, she prefers to pick and choose.

The Myna babe gives due consideration to the weight of her role, the overall story, and the director. Only when these three factors meet her criteria does she go ahead and sign on the dotted line. Amala Paul currently has Deiva Thirumagal with Vikram, Vettai with Maddy, and Mupozhuthum Un Karpanai with Atharva in her kitty.

The news about Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ shelved has disappointed the fans of Vijay and Mahesh Babu. However, Mani Ratnam’s team members are reportedly happy that he didn’t involve in the project that is profitably not viable.

The latest we hear from the closer sources is Mani Ratnam is glimpsing through three different scripts that he had crafted before the completion of ‘Raavanan’. It looks like his next preference is a breezy rom-com starring newcomers in lead roles. The inside reports mention that audition for new faces is going on at initial levels. However, the technical team will have P.C. Sriram and A.R. Rahman, who are considered as the lucky factors of Mani Ratnam’s films.

Lingusamy's Vettai starring Arya and Madhavan is going on in brisk pace. The unit is currently at Pondicherry shooting for an action sequence. Stunt master Selva is choreographing this sequence which has Arya taking on some goons. It is to be noted that a lot of scenes have been canned at Karaikudi with all the four lead stars- Arya, Madhavan, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul. Arya and Madhavan are playing brothers in this movie and rumors are that Madhavan plays a cop.

Looks like Vettai is going to be an action extravaganza true to its name. Lingusamy is best appreciated for his action movies like Run and Sandakozhi and we hope he repeats the success with Vettai and showcase Arya in a complete action role.

Madhavan is on a high these days as his Tanu Weds Manu was a big hit in Bollywood. Now he has more reason to smile as he has been approached for the remake in Tamil. The actor has agreed since this project is very close to his heart.

The makers have also approached Trisha for the role that Kangna Ranaut did in the original. It is felt that she will be perfect as the rebel who hates tradition and conventionality. There has been no official confirmation yet, but sources reveal that Trisha is quite eager to do the role with one of her earliest co-stars.
