Jo wants to act: Suriya

In a recent interview actor Suriya has revealed that his wife and former actress Jyothika still has the desire to get back to acting.

Suriya made it a point to clarify that it wasn’t his decision to keep Jyothika away from acting.

But when quizzed Suriya as to why his pretty wife takes up only endorsements but not films, the actor explained that shoot for endorsement lasts only for a couple of days and that Jo thinks that she cannot afford spending long time in shooting spots without being there for her children.

The 'Maatraan' actor also said that his lady will come to act when she thinks is the appropriate time.

STR to make Manmadhan II

STR is busy shooting for Vettai Mannan and Poda Podi after which he will start his next projects including Vaalu for Nic Arts. His Love Anthem will also be out this year. If this were not enough, the buzz is that STR is also working on a sequel to Manmadhan, his 2004 hit thriller with Jyothika.

It can be recalled that STR came up with the story and screenplay for the 2004 thriller Manmadhan besides supervising debutante A.J Murugan in directing the flick. STR also came in for a lot of praise for trying something so different and he followed it up with his directorial debut Vallavan.

STR didn't pick up the directorial baton since Vallavan and contented himself with acting, singing and dancing. Now it seems likely that he will turn director again for the much awaited sequel of sleek thriller Manmadhan very soon.

As of now Manmadhan II is only in its initial discussions and nothing is official yet. Watch this space for an update.

Shahrukh or Salman for Gowtham ?

Gowtham Menon's Vettaiyadu Vilayadu that starred Kamal Haasan and Jyothika in the lead is being remade in Hindi. The director is considering either Shahrukh or Salman Khan to play the lead in the remake.

Gautham is currently busy directing Nee Thaane En Pon Vasantham with Jiiva and Samantha in the lead and has Yohan – Adhyayam Ondru with Vijay in his kitty.

The director is also on the verge of releasing Ek Deewana Tha, the Hindi version of Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya very soon. In all probability, the Vettaiyadu Vilayadu remake is expected to take off once Yohan – Adhyayam Ondru is completed.

Karthi Sivakumar gets hitched..!

Tamil actor Karthik Sivakumar, also known as Karthi, tied the knot with the Chennai girl Ranjini on Saturday morning in Coimbatore.

The wedding was held as per traditional Tamil rites. The groom Karthi -- son of yesteryear actor Sivakumar and brother of Suriya -- was dressed in a white veshti and shirt. The bride Ranjini looked gorgeous in a rich Sandalwood coloured sari ornamented with brocade designs. She didn’t wear much jewellery but did opt for a traditional neckpiece.

The ceremony kicked off with the chanting of holy texts to welcome the guests. After that the formal wedding ceremony was initiated and completed as per traditional Tamil rituals.
