Shirish Kunder's 3D movie Joker, starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, will release Aug 30 next year.
"Joker release date confirmed, to arrive on 30th August, 2012," Kunder posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
The 38-year-old, who is married to choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan, says the dates will not clash with Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger, which has Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif.
"Joker is releasing two weeks after Ek Tha Tiger. Don't worry, not clashing, would never do that," he further tweeted.
The film is being jointly produced by Kunder and Farah's Three's Company and Akshay's Hari Om Entertainment Company.
Kunder, who made his directorial debut with Jaan-E-Mann in 2006, is also working on his action comedy, Kick. A remake of 2009 Telugu film with the same name, the film is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and features Salman and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles.
"We start shooting Kick in June," he said.
There has been a lot of bad press for Ileana in recent times accusing the actress being a tantrum - throwing, unprofessional diva.Farah Khan, one of the top choreographers in the country as well as director of hit films like Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om dismisses these reports as vicious fabrications.
Farah said that she has worked with Ileana on the sets of Shankar's forthcoming film Nanban that stars Vijay, Jiiva and Srikanth in the lead roles adding that she found Ileana to be the consummate professional.
"Ileana is an absolute trooper. She had her legs badly injured performing some intricate dance sequences and wanted to continue despite being in pain," said Farah.
Farah further defended the slender Goan beauty requesting the libelous reports about Ileana to be neglected.
The uncrowned Queen of item numbers is now all set to make her comeback with another item song in Sajid Khan's upcoming film Housefull 2, which is expected to bring back Munni's desi look on screen again.
According to reports, Malaika Arora Khan can be seen sizzling on screen in another hot item song in multi-starrer Bollywood movie Housefull 2. Choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan will choreograph this item song and is expected to bring the glory of her 'Sheila' and 'Munni' together in the song.
However, Malaika Arora Khan has done several item songs like 'Chaiyyan Chaiyyan', 'Kaal Dhamaal', 'Maahi Ve' and the chartbuster 'Munni Badnaam' and she is very successful in impressing the pranksters in each of them.
Malaika was even part of Sajid Khan's Heyy Babyy and Housefull. Now, she is ready to do one more item number for Sajid.
Ileana injured her leg once again, this time on Shankar’s ‘Nanban’ sets. Sonakshi Sinha gets the village excited and drooling as she cavorts bare back in a gypsy outfit in a new still from the film Joker just released by director Shirish Kunder.
A youngster in the audience misses it all, as Vindu Singh covers his eyes with his hand, finding Sonakshi's jhatak – lapak too sensuous for the boy's tender age.
The still shows Sonakshi dancing to the lusty beats of the song - Dance Karle English Mein - choreographed by Farah Khan.
Sonakshi's exotic looks and Farah's deft choreography. OMG! This one is going to be more potent than anything that we have seen!
The song, set in a village, was shot in Chandigarh during the film's first schedule.
Sonakshi had shared her excitement over the dance number while shooting for the film in Chandigarh.
"I'm finally going to dance in Joker. I wouldn't call it an item song because I'm the film's heroine and item songs are performed by guest artists. But, I know it will be well shot and lavish and aesthetic because it's being choreographed by Farah Khan," Sonakshi had told TOI.
Earlier in February, there was talk of a top actress joining Sonakshi in the dance number.
"Well, a top actress will be joining me. That's all I can say at the moment," Sonakshi had said, refusing to give details.
"This is a special song in the film as it has lyrics in ten languages. We had a ball shooting for it. Also, Sonakshi was a revelation. From being someone coy in Dabangg, it was a welcome change for her too to show a different side of her persona," Shirish commented.
