The Priyamani starrer 'Charulatha' finally earns the distinction of being the first movie about conjoined twins to be released.

'Charulatha' directed by Pon Kumaran and co-starring Skanda is an adaptation of the Thai horror 'Alone' that dealt with obsession and hatred of twin sisters conjoined at their stomach.

Hansraj Saxena, with his new banner SAX PICTURES has acquired the distribution rights of the Tamil version and is releasing the film on 21st September, 2012 with a U/A certificate by CBFC in view of the horror elements in the film.

The Tamil-Kannada bilingual was earlier reported to have 480 CG shots as planned but now the final count is 620 CG shots as the team is taking extra care and due diligence to make sure that the visual output is without any blemishes. The film is also being dubbed in Malayalam and Telugu to meet the demands of actor Priyamani's popularity in South Indian cinema.

'Charulatha' in the likes of the horror thrillers creating box-office history is promising and lead actor Priyamani is certainly going to make a roaring comeback into Tamil Cinema.

Sources say that Priyamani has been roped in to play Riteish Deshmukh’s leading lady in a Hindi film.

After Mani Ratnam's Raavan, Priyamani has been looking for a good opportunity to make a mark in Bollywood and the actor seems to have found a good opportunity in a script narrated by Chandrakant Singh, says sources close to her.

Priyamani currently has a couple of Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada projects on hands and will move over to this Hindi flick as soon as her presence is required there.

Actress Priyamani is very unhappy with a section of the media and has gone on record to upbraid them for scandal mongering.

There was some unsavory news earlier about actor Sachiin Joshi of Mumbai Heroes being accused of misbehaving indecently with Priyamani, one of the brand ambassadors for CCL.

Priyamani on further investigation of the report said that such an incident never happened and this sort of irresponsible journalism is harmful and can destroy reputations.

Priyamani has made it clear that the blame lies entirely with the media and all this unpleasantness could have been avoided if only the journalists had verified their facts before writing up the story.

The actors will soon be giving a joint press conference to clear up the issue.

After MIA ( Missing In Action ) for a while, actress Priyamani is back on action.

Priyamani has been signed for a female-oriented film, titled "Kshetram", that will see her playing dual roles with one being an out-an-out glamorous role and the other of a historical character.

"The historical character played by Priyamani will appear in flashback sequences paired opposite Jagapathi Babu and this episode is going to be the highlight of the movie," says director T.Venugopal.

"Apart from this, Priyamani also has another film opposite Shyam that is expected to be ready to hit the screens this month end.

By now we all know that veteran director Bharathiraja is back in the village atmosphere, doing what he does best!

Bharathiraja is all set to begin his ambitious project Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum with actor Parthiban playing the lead role.

The film will have two leading ladies with one being Priyamani and Parvathy (of Poo fame) as another. However the latest buzz is that Priyamani has opted out of the project due to date hassles and newcomer Iniya (who made a dream debut in Vaagai Sooda Vaa) has been roped to play the lead.

Set in Madurai, Annakodiyum Kodiveeranum is a period film which runs through four decades: 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. The film will have Parthiban in a dual role with different get ups.

The director has also roped in young composer G.V. Prakash as the music director for the project. Since music plays an important role and has to reflect the respective periods.

G.V. Prakash is currently doing research on the kind of folk rural music in these four decades.

Interestingly, G.V. Prakash's uncle A.R. Rahman teamed up with the veteran director for Kizhakku Cheemayilae in 1993.

Priyamani has been through hell for the past couple of months apparently being harassed by a phone - stalker.

An anonymous male had been calling the actress constantly and using vulgar language and suggestive innuendo. He was also peppering her with offensive text messages.

The actress tried to ignore the calls and text messages but her stalker would not leave her alone. She had even changed her number three times but the misreant managed to find out the new numbers and continued to be a disturbance. The family and friends, who were concerned with Priyamani starting to wilt under the strain were forced to have this reported.

The cops were soon able to track down the phone-stalker and have arrested him relieving Priyamani to wear a smile again.

Priyamani is miffed with the media nowadays as irresponsible press persons have confirmed her marriage plans without waiting to verify things with her.

The national award winning actress has set the record straight by clarifying that she has no marriage plans in the offing as she will be focusing entirely on her career.

Ever since, Priyamani donned the glamor girl mantle, she has been flooded with offers, so it turned out to be a good move career-wise.

Currently she is filming Kshetram with Jagapathi Babu in Telugu and Vishnuvardhana with Kannada Superstar, Sudeep.

PriyamaniPriyamani says that she is still trying to get good offers from Bollywood and while speaking about this, she said,” I am currently acting in Telugu and Kannada films. I will also be acting in two more Telugu films and talks are going on with regard to this."

The films 'Vishnuvardhana' and 'Lakshmi' in Kannada that has Priyamani as the female lead role are getting delayed. She stated that the films are not delayed because of her and The shooting of these films will commence soon.

She mentioned of her acting skills that were noticed by an audience worldwide in Maniratnam's Raavan despite of the film's fate at the box office and mentioned that the Hindi audience enjoyed her acting.

Having said that she also mentioned about her role opposite Suriya in Ram Gopal Varma’s Raktha Charithra II that did not reach the audience as expected.

"Many are asking me about not continuing to act in more Hindi films. Though I am acting in South Indian languages, I am making efforts to get offers in Hindi. I am just waiting for good roles.” she added.

Tollywood grapevine is abuzz that Priyamani is all set to romance NTR Jr. again. She has been penciled into do the female lead second to Shruti Hassan in Boyapati.

Priyamani earlier paired up with NTR Jr. in Yamadonga which went out to become a big hit. Later Priyamani acted opposite Balakrishna and Kalyan Ram and was nicknamed as Nandamuri heroine by the media.

Of late Priyamani was in the news for her tacky liplocks with actor Sumanth in 'Raaj'. It is to be noted here that 'Raaj' also has sleazy scenes that aroused the audience as the protagonist makes out with both of his lead ladies with the other one being the sexy Vimala Raman.

Priyamani is now struggling to bag big budget films and After Ragada, the NTR Jr. movie will be another biggie in her kitty.

The Tamil remakes of two big budget Telugu films are all set to hit screens by the end of this month. One is the Nagarjuna-Anushka-Priyamani starrer Ragada and the other is Khaleja, starring Mahesh Babu and Anushka.

The Tamil and Malayalam producer of the films, Bhadrakali Prasad Rao, says, "While Ragada has been titled Vambu in Tamil, Khaleja will release as Bathra. The Tamil audio of both the films were launched recently in Chennai. Music of Vambu (by Thaman) and Bhatra (by Mani Sharma) will definitely strike a chord with the Tamil audience."

It is to be noted that both these films dubbed into Tamil as Anushka, the new sensation in Kollywood playing the lead and the producers are only trying to cash in their revenue Making Hay when the Sun shines . .
