Aishwarya Rai is considered by many to be the most beautiful woman in the world but in recent times, she has been slammed by her ordinarily adoring public for her weight gain post delivery.

A section of the media and denizens of the social networking sites have been criticizing Aishwarya for not losing the baby weight.

"It has been five months since the birth of her baby girl and Aishwarya seems to have become fatter and is even sporting a double chin," says a part of the media slamming the beautiful Aishwarya against her indulging into motherhood.

Rushing to the defense of the gorgeous actor, designers like Sabyasachi Mukherji, Rocky S and Rina Dhaka have lashed out at the press saying that it is normal for women to put on weight at this time and Aishwarya should not be attacked for enjoying her motherhood and indulging a little.

A little junk in the trunk is no reason to get worked up about as beauty is not just skin deep.

Her orange saree in a song from Rajkumar Hirani's 3 Idiots also generated a lot of interest. So, when she had to shoot for the song Criminal in her upcoming superhero flick RA.One, the actress made sure that she surpasses her own quotient of looking sexy. Kareena ripped her dress, a Roberto Cavalli gown if you must know, to make it look hotter.

A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "Earlier, Kareena was supposed to wear this Roberto Cavalli gown. This dress was bought specially for the song. However, when the shoot finally started, everyone including Kareena's designer Manish Malhotra felt that she needed to look more glamorous. By then it was too late to look for a new dress."

"Manish suggested chopped off the existing gown and made it shorter. Everyone loved the end result. Including producer and lead actor Shah Rukh Khan," added the source.

When contacted Kareena, She confirmed the news and said, "The dress that I wear in the song was actually cut from a gown. The look needed to be glamorous. It was Manish's idea and I think it was great. It was a Roberto Cavalli gown made in to a sexy dress."

Recalling the experience, Manish Malhotra said, "We chopped the gown on the sets. The song required that. We cut it out and it worked for the better. Kareena looked hot and we are getting super response to it. Her looks in RA.One are very different from Golmaal 3 and Bodyguard. Feels superb."

Karisma Kapoor, who is returning to silver screen with Dangerous Ishq 3D, has told its director Vikram Bhatt that her favourite costume designer Manish Malhotra should be on board.

The actress, who bid adieu to movies after marrying Delhi-based industrialist Sanjay Kapur in 2003, met Bhatt last week at her residence.

During the incisive chat, Karisma discussed every aspect of her comeback film at length. She apparently told the director that she would be able to work only around her baby's daily schedules.

The intricate and historically-relevant costumes of the film's protagonist that take her through five different eras are to be researched by Nidhi Yasha, who designed the costumes for Bhatt's Haunted 3D.

Karisma, who has hardly ever worked with any other designer, gently but firmly asked for Manish to do her clothes.

"There was no compulsion to take on Manish. He is the best in the business of clothes and it'd be a pleasure and privilege to work with him. Nidhi Yasha would now be researching Karisma's clothes. Manish would actually be designing them," said Bhatt.

Karisma, who entered Bollwyood in 1991 with Prem Qaidi, featured in hits like Coolie No.1, Hero No.1, Raja Hindustani, Dil Toh Pagal Hai and Zubeidaa.
