The chief magistrate court of Kozhikode has issued a summon to actress Meera Jasmine to appear for a case filed by a producer against her.
According to the case filed on the basis of Malayalam producer and director K.A. Devarajan’s complaint, the actress had taken an advance of Rs 5 lakhs from him to do the film Swapnamalika, but failed to honour her commitment.
After having received this summon from the Kozhikode court, Meera had approached the Kerala High Court requesting exemption to be granted from making a personal appearance in the court, on the summons issued by the lower court.
However, the High Court has rejected her appeal and has asked her to be present at the court on or before August 8.

Currently Meera has no projects in Malayalam and is awaiting for her only release in Tamil, Mambattiyan with Prashanth.
