Hollywood has seen competing films made on volcanoes, serial killers, killer asteroids and even competing Snow White films but not anything like this until now.
It is reported that there are two different projects in the development about Linda Lovelace, the '70s porn star who became a worldwide celebrity with "Deep Throat.
Does the world really need competing films about Linda Lovelace?
Indeed, one of the interesting things about Lovelace's life is that she transformed herself from a porn star into a crusader against pornography before her death in 2002 at the age of 53. Her story has the sort of dramatic arc that seems perfect for an Oscar nomination, plus the fact that there are usually so few meaty lead roles for actresses.
Maybe that's why there are two Lovelace films in development.
While one of these two projects may be wooing "Cowboys & Aliens" co-star Olivia Wilde, there is another called 'Inferno' that was in talks with Lindsay Lohan fitting in as Linda Lovelace. The filmmakers however decided that she wasn't worth the trouble and moved on to Malin Akerman with the role.
As for Wilde, just a few years ago she was simply the striking beauty with the dumb name on "House." After"Tron: Legacy" and "Cowboys & Aliens," she's working her way onto the A-list. That was sure fast.
