Tamil cinema witnessed a bizarre press meet today when actress turned producer Sona convened one to announce that she was a victim of a rape attempt.Sona accused actor – producer S P B Charan of attempting to rape her and treating her derogatorily at the Mankatha success party.
According to Sona, she attended the Mankatha success party thrown by Vaibhav and team where Charan grabbed her and attempted to sexually assault her. She also mentioned that Venkat Prabhu tried to pull away an inebriated Charan from assaulting her.
Earlier, Sona visited the Pondy Bazaar police station and lodged a formal complaint against Charan for attempted rape. Sona declared that she would immolate herself if Charan does not come out with a public apology for this assault on her.
Sona's press meet was widely attended by media houses.
