Trade circles are abuzz about the proposed remake of the Vidya Balan starrer 'The Dirty Picture' that was inspired from the life of yesteryear sex bomb 'Silk' Smitha.
The Dirty Picture that gave Vidya (Bidya in Bengali) the role of a lifetime not only raked collections and smashed records at the box-office but also won her a Nation Award for Best Actress for portraying the lead role 'Silk'.
Initially there were reports that Nikitha would do the role but there
was no confirmation on that.
Now according to sources, the producers of
the original version are looking for a bankable star and Anushka is at
the top of their list.
Anushka has already proved that she can carry a film
on her shoulders with Arundhati and this role is tailor made for her.
Fans are hoping that the busy actress will sign on the dotted line for a dirtier picture than the original.
