For all those who have till date complained that Freida Pinto is only looking Westward and isn't doing anything 'Indian', take note.
Freida will be seen in her most desi avatar till now in director Michael Winterbottom's adaptation of Thomas Hardy's novel, "Tess Of The d'Urbervilles." The film, titled " Trishna", has the story shift to modern day India, where Freida plays the role of an autorickshaw driver's daughter.
The tragic love story sees her character fall in love with the son of a property developer. Winterbottom, who has directed "A Mighty Heart", will premiere his film at the Toronto film festival in September.
