Jiiva was returning from Tirupathi to Chennai and found the road blocked by agitators, who had taken their protest to the streets due to some political issues in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the actor, the police arrived and cleared the area but the road was blocked again a little further. This time the police said they were helpless as it was not in their jurisdiction.
"Traffic came to a standstill for the next few hours and as usual only the innocent public are hurt in these situations," said actor Jiiva.
"Two old people had to be taken to the hospital. Worse, a mother and her newborn who had just been discharged from the hospital had to be helped out of a share auto and the poor woman could barely stand," added the actor being outraged with the situation.
