Some might see it as his way of settling the score with Ranbir Kapoor. But, for Salman Khan choosing Nargis Fakhri as his heroine for a superhero film might just be a clever professional decision.

Ranbir Kapoor is often accused of stealing Katrina Kaif from Salman Khan. After all, it was during the making of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani that the sparks first flew between Ranbir and Kat. What it resulted in was a break-up between Salman and Kat even though Ranbir couldn’t stick to Kat after that and has been repeatedly linked with his Rockstar heroine Nargis Fakhri.

Now, the tables have turned as Salman Khan is looking forward to rope in Nargis for brother Sohail Khan’s production titled Sher Khan which will reportedly have Sallu playing a superhero.

The buzz is that Sohail wants a new girl to pair with Salman in the film. And Nargis -- though she won’t be a newbie by the film Sher Khan goes on the floors -- tops Khan’s wishlist.

The film is set to roll by the end of this year. More than anything, it offers Nargis a plum chance to cement her place in B-town.

They have been together through thick and thin, completely different from each other and yet bonded by love -- Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin have finally decided to get married.

April 30 is the day when these two lovebirds will take marital vows amidst family and friends. The marriage is reportedly in the beautiful hill city of Ooty where Kalki’s mother stays. The couple, who recently admitted that they got engaged in January, has invited around forty people. The marriage will be attended by only a few from the industry. Kalki has also met her in-laws in Benaras (Anurag’s hometown) during the shoot of Anurag's forthcoming film, Gangs Of Wasseypur.

The maverick director of Dev D confirms the marriage to a tabloid, and clears that the marriage will be devoid of any pomp and show and would be a very simple ceremony. As both Kalki and Anurag are very private persons they don’t want media to be part of their wedding ceremony. The couple will wed in South Indian style, and as per reports, Kalki will wear a Kanjivaram saree and Anurag - a dhoti.

This is Anurag’s second marriage. His first wife was film editor Aarti Bajaj, with whom he has a daughter named Aaliya.

Kalki and Anurag’s love story started from the sets of Dev D, and since then the two are like inseparables. They have been living together for last two years, and have even bought a new house.

Last week, Mallika Sherawat became one of the selected few to meet the US President Barack Obama over a cup of tea in Los Angeles.

The actress is over the moon since that meeting.

“It was electric! Obama is d bomb:)” Mallika expressed her exuberance on Twitter.

When a follower pointed to her that she was trending on Twitter, Mallika responded: “What? wow cant believe;) & all it took was a meetin w/ Obama lol”

And when another follower joked that Mallika should get him a Green card, Mallika wrote “Me first”.

Mallika is now looking forward to the release of her film Politics of Love in which she plays a die-hard believer in Obama.

Talk about life imitating art.

Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan is once again ready to take on the role of the host of the television game show Kaun Banega Crorepati.

The coming months would see the superstar hosting the fifth season of the popular and hit reality game show that first aired in 2000.

“Preparing now for KBC's next season starting I think in a few months... creative and promo discussions today ... very interesting,” Bachchan revealed on Twitter.

KBC is based on the UK game show ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’

In the four seasons of KBC since 2000, Big B has hosted the show three times. The third season of the show was hosted by Shahrukh Khan but wasn’t as big a hit as was expected. Big B returned for the fourth season and took the show to a greater height.

A Bollywood romantic film bearing the title Mausam can’t possibly do without a rain song. So there were Shahid Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor getting wet and frisky on the sets of the film last week.

In a remarkable display of professionalism, Sonam insisted on shooting the song in studio rain despite having recovered from poor health just days back. Obviously, everyone from the producer Sheetal Talwar to her co-star Shahid Kapoor and director Pankaj Kapur were very concerned and caring towards Sonam during the two days she shot for the rain sequence.

The shoot was held last week at Nitin Desai Studios in Karjat on the outskirts of Mumbai. All through the shoot, Shahid made sure Sonam did not catch cold. She was provided with a protection of warm clothes and steaming hot beverages.

Thankfully, Sonam remained in fine fettle. It was a health risk worth taking because the rain sequence had already been delayed by a month, and postponing it further would have meant a delay in the film’s completion. No wonder, Sonam’s gumption has the producer crooning her praises.

There’s been a talk of Salman Khan gearing up to play a superhero. But the actor scotched those rumours at the music launch of Ready.

After Shahrukh Khan in Ra.One, Salman Khan was being touted as the next superhero of Bollywood. Reports suggested that Salman would play a superhero spy in director Kabir Khan’s next film, co-starring Katrina Kaif.

But at the music launch of ‘Ready’, when Salman was asked by a scribe if he had indeed signed on to play a superhero, he responded with his trademark charisma: “I am not interested in being a superhero. I don't want to wear my underwear on the outside nor do I want to be bitten by a spider. I prefer being SAL-MAN.”

In a self boasting style quite reminiscent of Shahrukh Khan, Salman said smugly that he is the best hero.

“I like to go watch a movie where I can see my hero and who better than me. I think I am better than any other hero,” Salman said.

He was accompanied at the music launch by Ready actress Asin, Zarine Khan and director Anees Bazmee.

Rajinikanth’s next film with KS Ravikumar is ready to rock and roll. A colossal set has reportedly been erected at the AVM Studios and all is in readiness for the shoot. The first schedule will begin on May 1st. Some crucial scenes and a dance sequence with Deepika Padukone will be canned.

The director wants to preserve the surprise elements in the film, so access cards have been issued to crew members so that only select personnel may gain admission to the set. This move is likely to increase an already inflated interest in Rana, a hundred fold.

Deepika will sport a brand new look for this film and will epitomize the Southern beauty. Tabu will be paired up against the patriarch character and Ileana will be the other leading lady. Sonu Sood, who has become famous for his bad guy act in Arundhati and Dabangg, will be the villain in Rana. Interestingly, the actor did a small role and was in a fight sequence with Superstar in Chandramukhi.

Ko has opened to a great response from the audiences and Jiiva, the hero of this venture, is thrilled about it. Naturally, many have been wondering if STR regrets backing out from this project as it has turned out to be a super success. His fans took it one step further and have been actively airing their feelings on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. They have said that the role was not a suitable one for their hero as it is a political drama with too many other characters that takes attention away from the lead.

STR was upset that his fans have chosen to show their support by tearing down the efforts of the cast and crew of Ko. He has requested them not to say negative things about others in the industry as they all belong to the same fraternity and he has nothing but respect for all who are a part of the film industry.

STR made it clear that he had certain reason for opting out of Ko and does not want the issue blown out of proportion especially since its success augers well for the industry. That is very decent and sportive of him we must say.

Actor Ram Charan, son of Chiranjeevi, whose Maaveeran will be hitting the theatres shortly is overwhelmed with the warm reception he received from the Tamil industry. The journos were very surprised when he addressed them in perfect Tamil. Even the director Rajamouli and producer, Allu Aravind spoke in Tamil. This is amazing in an age where most of the heroines can barely string a sentence together in Tamil despite doing so many films in that language. They all received a thunderous applause from the delighted onlookers.

Ram Charan conveyed his gratitude to Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam for their kind words and encouragement. He said he loves Chennai as he spent his younger days in the city and it is close to his heart and hopes there will be more collaboration between the Tamil and Telugu film fraternities.

Prabhu Deva’s Engeyum Kadhal is to be released by Sun Pictures on May 6th. The publicity campaign for the film is going on in full swing and it has already generated an enormous buzz. The music scored by Harris Jayaraj has become very popular.

Jayam Ravi and Hansika Motwani will be playing the lead roles in this love story with music reportedly being the third lead. Engeyum Kadhal is a stylish, youthful flick shot in some breathtaking locales. The director appears to be in fine form and has high expectations for this film which is supposed to be as frothy and delicious as a vanilla milkshake.

A house owned by Vijay, which was rented out to Vijay Anthony, came under attack recently. Some miscreants hurled stones inside and caused damage to this house situated in Virugambakkam. It was suggested that certain political factions, who disapproved of Vijay’s entry into politics, may have been behind the attack. The police report however put it down to drunken misconduct on the part of a few individuals.

This has angered Vijay fans who felt that justice has not been served. They have decided to organize protests to express their anger. The Coimbatore branch of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam was the first to make their feelings known and have organized a demonstration in that area. Many fans have joined in and they are all screaming for vengeance against the men who did this to their hero. They are demanding that the perpetrators be arrested and punished immediately.

Tamannah Bhatia hasn't signed any Telugu films after Koncham Ishtam Koncham Kashtam. Now after a brief hiatus, she is all geared to bounce back with not one but three projects - 100% Love, Badrinath and Oosaravelli. "All the characters are beautifully thought out and different from each other," quips the Sindhi beauty. 100% Love will release first [sometime in the first week of May], followed by Badrinath and Oosaravelli.

When asked about her role in 100% Love, Tamanna says, "I have always wanted to play a character like this. The name of my character is Mahalakshmi and Chaitu's character's name is Balu. We keep fighting with each other. How love blossoms between us and how we go about our new-found love forms the crux of the story. I liked the way Sukumar etched the characters. It's a film that I am proud to be a part of. It'll be one of my first films which I'll watch many times."

Compliments have been flowing in for actor Rana Daggubati, who debuted in Bollywood with Dum Maaro Dum.

However, praises from a megastar has put a smile on Rana's lips. The young heartthrob is on a high after the feedback his first Bollywood film has received. But the actor's happiness and excitement knew no bounds when he got an sms from Amitabh Bachchan praising his acting.

In a recent interview Rana revealed, "I got an sms from Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and he said he liked my work in Dum Maaro Dum. He was one of the first people to give the feedback after watching the film. Coming from him, the sms has now become my most priced possession."

Now, who won't be on a high after getting a compliment by the Shahenshah of Bollywood?

Saif Ali Khan will strum the guitar again and also sing on stage. He is once again teaming up with his favourite rock band Parikrama to belt out a concert in New Delhi which he expects to be electrifying.

The actor reveals, "It's been a while that I have played in public. But I was waiting for the right moment when I would do something again with music. Parikrama is doing a new gig and I'm a part of it. Playing in Delhi is always great.

People understand rock, understand music much like the other metropolitan cities of India. I'm really looking forward and very, very excited to go to the rehearsals and then play my heart out on the big day. It's great that I'm going back on stage again."

Actors Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor who used to party together, don't anymore...

Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor used to be good friends. In spite of Salman being way senior to Ranbir, they shared a comfortable camaraderie. Salman and Ranbir had a group of common friends, and went out together pretty often. When the two actors were shooting out of the city, and found themselves shooting the same city, they met up and would go out together.

However, all this seems to have changed ever since news about Ranbir and Katrina Kaif got out. Salman, we hear, has slowly been distancing himself from Ranbir. Friends close to the actors tell us that the two don't hang out together anymore. If one comes out, the other excuses himself.

Ranbir also went on record to say that he and Katrina are not an item. Salman didn't take too kindly to that. "Bhai believes that girls should be treated with respect," said a close friend.
