Katie Holmes to judge dance reality show

Actress Katie Holmes has signed up to judge an upcoming episode of the US talent show So You Think You Can Dance.

Holmes has been invited to sit on the judging panel alongside Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy, while High School Musical director Kenny Ortega will make a special appearance on the show, reports dailystar.co.uk.

"I'm flying out tonight and going to be a guest judge on So You Think You Can Dance with Kenny Ortega, Nigel and Mary. I love that show," the 32-year-old revealed on the talk show Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Aug 9.

Katie throws Tom a suprise party

Katie Holmes threw a surprise party for husband Tom Cruise a day before his birthday.

Cruise turned 49 on July 3 and Holmes, 32, planned to celebrate it with a secret dinner party for 40 of their closest friends at the SoHo Beach House in Miami, People magazine reported.

"Katie planned everything herself," said a source. The bash took place on the roof and inside the private venue and guests enjoyed pasta, shrimp and other Italian dishes, in addition to a chocolate birthday cake.

"Katie has been very excited and actually did the RSVPs herself. She wanted to be sure everything was just right," the source added.

Katie's surprise for Tom

Tom Cruise celebrated his 49th birthday on Sunday with a surprise party thrown by wife Katie Holmes.

Katie threw Tom's soiree inside and on the rooftop of SoHo Beach House, a private members club and hotel located in Miami.

"There were over three dozen of the star's friends in attendance of the party incluring his children Isabella, Connor and Suri who enjoyed Italian food and shrimp with chocolate birthday cake for dessert. Katie had planned everything herself including making the RSVPs herself to be sure that everything was just right." reported the source.

Tom's fourth installment of the Mission Impossible Franchise is expected to release in December with its trailer creating the hype required to welcome IMF Agent Ethan Hunt back on the big screen. Tom is currently filming the movie adaption of the musical "Rock of Ages" in Florida that will hit theaters on June 1, 2012.
