Actor Richa Gangopadhyay got a pleasant surprise recently when she was presented with a 'Fashion Diva' award at the Southspin Fashion awards 2012.

The hot looking actor was honored with the 'Fashion Diva' award for her unbiased ethnic look in the STR starrer 'Osthe' - a Tamil remake of the Hindi blockbuster 'Dabangg' that starred Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.

The actor will be next seen in the Goutham Menon produced 'Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum' and has been signed up for a couple of Telugu projects each with 'Rebel Star' Prabhas and 'Mass Maharaja' Ravi Teja.

Richa's next outing in Tamil is the Venkat Prabhu diet 'Biriyani' opposite Karthi in the lead. This biggie that is expected to release by the end of this year would feature newly married couple Sneha and Prasanna sharing screen space with Director Mysskin donning the grease paint to play the villain in the film.

Looks like Richa is progressing pretty good pace even on her career front.

A lot has been written about Sonakshi Sinha's apparent weight issues.

While some have called her "fat" others have commented on her "no lack of curves". However, Sonakshi's friend and co-star Ranveer Singh has come to her defence, stating, "Sonakshi has a real woman's body".

While many in the industry have been taking pot shots at Sonakshi, Ranveer says:

"I think she's gorgeous. Those who have worked with her know that she's very fit. You can make that out from her dancing and action sequences. Moreover, I think that her attitude towards her detractors is a cool one. I don't like it when people try and take away from such a fantastic talent on the basis of something as superficial as her weight."

Now, that's some compliment for Sonakshi!

Ranveer Singh was recently in news for being spotted with Deepika Padukone around town. There were also speculations if something could be brewing between the two.

However, the actor put all rumours to rest and explained:

"I think knowing your co-actor on a personal level is not a bad thing. I have been meeting Deepika outside of work to acquaint myself with her. Likewise, I am acquainting myself with the script, the director as well as the technicians of my new film (Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next). A greater comfort level does translate on screen!"

Well said, then.

Reema Sen is amazed at the response she has been receiving to her sensuous role of Durga, Sardar Khan's ( played by Manoj Bajpayee) second wife in "Gangs of Wasseypur" and expressed her thoughts about the size zero trend that she thinks is obnoxious.

"Anurag had told me that people were going to go crazy over my character but I never expected this. I never thought that people will be so ga ga over the character. People have found a cotton sari and a quarter second back shot so sexy - I am amazed," stated Reemma in a recent interview.

"Had it not come after 'The Dirty Picture', people would have said I looked fat. Vidya has made voluptuous look sexy and I really need to thank her," attributing her success to Vidya Balan.

"Everyone is so crazy over the size zero concept. I don't think fat is sexy but being skinny is not that great either. It's like their bodies are all the same and without seeing the face you don't know who it is. This is an obnoxious trend where people are anorexic and they try to look sexy," added the actor saying that she doesn't think skinny bodies make one look sexy.

Bebo, who is back to her size-zero avatar with Halkat Jawani, her Heroine song, has recently said: "Being fat is not sexy! Anyone who says that is talking crap. Voluptuous is sexy, but fat is out."

Sonakshi on the other hand remarked "People have told me they are happy that the full-figured Indian heroine is back. I have broken the size zero mould. I don't agree with the concept of being stick thin.

At the end of the day, Indian men want women who are well-rounded, voluptuous and curvaceous, someone they can hold."

Reemma, the latest entrant to the curvaceous league of Bollywood, wasn't quite chubby when she entered showbiz.

However, with Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha and now Reemma Sen prove their best with their hot voluptuousness, women with curvaceous, well rounded and voluptuous looks are back again in vogue in Bollywood.

Sonakshi Sinha admits that she is not bold enough to do an item number, but said that she won't mind doing one if presented in a right manner.

"I haven't been offered any item number till now. If there is a good song, I am convinced enough and I am presented in a right way, then why not?," said Sonakshi of her expectations to perform for a item song while promoting her latest release "Rowdy Rathore" with co-star Akshay Kumar and director Prabhu Deva.

What about the item song "Chammak challo chail chabeeli" in "Rowdy Rathore"?

"'Chammak challo chail chabeeli' is not an item song. It's a very situational song with a wedding as its backdrop," explained Sonakshi, who debuted as a demure village belle in 'Dabangg.'

Your role in 'Rowdy Rathore.' Doesn't it also show you in a similar desi avatar.

"I am not waiting to get a role that will change my desi girl image, but still if I get something, which requires me to be more westernised and my character is good, I won't mind doing it. Right now I am happy representing my own culture." added Sonakshi.

Looks like the actor is in no rush to change her desi girl image.

Sonakshi Sinha's act in a red saree in the song 'Chammak challo chail chabeeli' from Rowdy Rathore has forced people to draw comparisons with Kareena Kapoor's Chammak challo in RA.One. However, the actor brushes it off as mere co-incidence and insists the two not be compared.

"I am not just Chammak Challo, I am also Chail Chabeeli. I would like to say that Ra. One had not released when we had shot for this song and we had not seen that Chammak Challo in a red saree. It's just a co-incidence," said the 24-year-old belle in an interview.

Sonakshi insists that the two songs are completely different.

"Both the songs are different, it was westernised but our song is full of Indian melody. So you should not compare the two," said Sonakshi, who made her Bollywood debut with Dabangg.

Having said that, 'Chamak Challo' Bebo had agreed to sizzle for a hot item number in ‘Rowdy Rathore’ as a friendly gesture for producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali and co-producer Shabinaa Khan.

The diva is reported to have raised the oomph wearing a glamorous black outfit to dance on the song.

Directed by Prabhu Deva, Rowdy Rathore will hit the silver screens on June 1. Besides promoting Rowdy Rathore, Sonakshi is also busy shooting for Joker, Lootera and Dabangg 2.

We all know how Vijay impressed everyone with his dancing skills on the sets of the Akshay Kumar starrer 'Rowdy Rathore' directed by Prabhu Deva. The director of the film recently revealed some interesting details about the same in a recent interview.

Akshay, The Khiladi actor who intially didn't believe of Vijay's consent to dance with him received Vijay with a warm hug. He was so amazed to see Vijay and asked Prabhu Deva, “What’s he, just 17”?

"Initially, I was a little apprehensive to ask Vijay about doing the dance, but when I asked Vijay about it, his immediate response was ‘why not?’ In an hour’s time Vijay, who was in Mumbai for the shoot of Thuppakki, was at the sets of Rowdy Rathore," said Prabhudeva.

"I'm not trying to provide a Bollywood launch for Vijay. He doesn't need anybody to recommend for him. Bollywood will welcome him with its hands wide open,” he added.

Prabhu Deva is currently shooting Rowdy Rathore with Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha. Once this is done, he will begin his next film with Salman Khan.

Both Prabhu Deva and Salman Khan met during the opening ceremony of IPL and finalized on another project to work together after their previous venture 'Wanted' became one of the biggest hits in both their careers.

Expecting their second venture together to be a bigger hit than 'Wanted', both Prabhu Deva and Salman are planning to rope Kareena Kapoor to play the heroine in the film.

Kareena, the Bollywood Queen is reportedly a big fan of Prabhu Deva ever since he choreographed some of her dance moves in the S.J Suryah directed 'Kushi' and from what we heard, the sexy belle is keen to work with him again.

Prabhu Deva said an official announcement will be made soon once he is done with Rowdy Rathore.

Rajnikanth, whom his fans believe can do the impossible, doesn’t want to do what is really possible by even an amateur in the industry- to romance a girl.

Just imagine who wouldn’t want to romance a beauty like Deepika Padukone. Starting from the smallest star to the most powerful star would queue up to romance her for a life time, but not the Superstar.

If reports are to be believed, Rajinikanth had made a request to his daughter Soundarya, to keep the number of romance sequences to the minimum. It seems that he feels bad to romance a girl half of his age. This incident is said to have happened when Saroj Khan, the film’s choreographer had composed a dance sequence that involved moves that were very rich in romance.

Initially, when Superstar was planning to do Rana, he had objected to bring in Sonakshi Sinha as the film’s heroine as he felt it wouldn’t be nice to romance the daughter of his very good friend Shatrughan Sinha.

Actor/Director Prabhu Deva and Vijay share a good bond as both actors and dancers after working together for 'Pokiri' and 'Villu' together.

Prabhu Deva, who is presently filming Rowdy Rathore, the Hindi remake of S.S. Rajamouli's Vikramarkudu with Akshay Kumar in the lead, had asked Vijay if he could shake a leg for a song in the film along with him and Akshay.

Vijay, an esteemed actor that he is, has given his nod without any hesitation. Prabhu Deva observed this as a gentle gesture for an actor of such a high stature.

So, we will soon be seeing Vijay and Prabhu Deva shaking a leg with Akshay Kumar for a small part of the song. It must also be noted that Kareena Kapoor has also danced for a song in the film, without taking any payment.

Rowdy Rathore, now being touted as the most anticipated film of the year is being produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and UTV Motion Pictures.

From the looks of it, Akshay Kumar, Sonkashi Sinha starrer ‘Rowdy Rathore’ seems to be a hell of a masala flick.

Rowdy Rathore, a remake of Telugu blockbuster ‘Vikramarkudu’ is being touted as one the big releases of this year with the trailers of the film creating ripples across the globe.

The makers recently released the trailer of its new song ‘Aa re Pritam Pyaare’ and by the looks of it, it is surely going to top the charts very soon.

Known for his passion for dance, Prabhu Deva has roped in not one or two but three dancing divas for the song. The result, of course, is simply splendid. The song ‘Aa re Pritam Pyaare’ features veteran item queen Mumaith Khan gyrating her hot body with Iraninan actress/dancer Maryam Zakaria and Shakti Mohan, winner of Zee’s Dance India Dance II.

The three gorgeous ladies are seen shaking their Jatkas and Matkas to the hot item number composed by the fabulous Sajid Wajid. The song is sung by the uber talented and perfect vocals of Mamta Sharma!

Have a look. We bet you would want to shake a leg or two as well!

Sonakshi Sinha is gearing up for her first item number threatening 'Chikni Chamelies' to move over as she is arriving soon with 'Chikni Kamar' for her forthcoming film 'Rowdy Rathore' opposite Akshay Kumar.

Close on the heels of Katrina Kaif’s item number 'Chikni Chameli', Sonakshi Sinha is all geared up to set the screen ablaze with her gyrations for her first ever item song. The actress is rehearsing her sexy moves before heading to Hampi where she will shoot for it with Akshay Kumar. Sonakshi prefers to call the track — ‘a complete masaledaar song’ — choreographed by Vishnu with valuable inputs from her director and ace choreographer Prabhudeva.

The actress reveals that she had started practicing her moves earlier, but had to take a break to shoot two films in between, one with Ajay Devgn in Patiala and another with Ranveer Singh in Kolkata.

“Now that I’m back, I’m going to push myself and get the steps as perfectly as I can,” she enthuses, adding that the dance track has several complicated moves.

Sonakshi explains the decision behind choosing Hampi as the shoot location, “It’s a very picturesque location and given the kind of film it is, the idea is to make the song also look larger than life.”

She’s also quick to add that keeping in mind the weather, it’s going to be very hot. “So Akshay and I will have a tough time,” she smiles.

While we’ve heard of actresses working harder at the gym to get a sexier body for their item songs, Sonakshi hasn’t been given any such instruction by her director. “Prabhudeva and everyone else I’m working with like me the way I am. Although I'm trying to fit in my gym sessions between my work schedules, I’ve not been banned from eating anything either,” she enthuses.

Will Sonakshi’s Chikni Kamar steal all the oomph from Chikni Chameli?

The first trailer of Rowdy Rathore was released yesterday amidst much fanfare in an open ground where Akshay Kumar in his rowdy look entertained the media with his dance moves and dialogues. However, as the original trailer was leaked on the internet over the weekend, the surprise element of a new trailer was certainly missing.

Nevertheless, like we promised you, here’s the first trailer of Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited film Rowdy Rathore, directed by the Wanted director Prabhu Deva.

The trailer of Rowdy Rathore starts with a boom -- Akshay Kumar as Rowdy Rathore is introduced to us as someone who is “unstoppable” and “unbeatable”. Akshay picks up fights with goons in the style of a typical south Indian action star, aptly emulated by Salman Khan in his recent action films. More than the hard-to-believe stunts, the entertainment lies in the punchy one-liners.

Akshay Kumar indulges in some heavyweight dialogue delivery in the film: Apun Ka Fatka, Chaar Sou Chaalis Watt Ka Jhatka. He fears no one, Naam Rathore, Vikram Rathore.

The three-minute trailer also has Sonakshi Sinha oozing oomph in desi clothes. The scene in which she makes an entry is quite unique. Akshay is shown rewinding his mind (which he does funnily through his finger) to see her once again. Also the scene where he is after ladoos and Sonakshi, also evokes laughter! Sonakshi Sinha’s doe-eyed beauty and alluring charisma adds freshness to the trailer because she is back after a year and half, and this time is sharing screen space with Akshay.

The trailer with its folksy tune has all the right elements that would help create the buzz for the film. Catch Akshay Kumar’s rowdiness and his “ladoo” romance with Sonakshi Sinha in this first trailer of Rowdy Rathore:

Now that the shooting of 'Ek Tha Tiger' has wrapped up in Cuba, Salman Khan is back in the city and is all set to switch on to the avatar of Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg 2 directed by his brother Arbaaz Khan, who is busy as of now searching for the most suitable cast for the movie.

News is that there have been a few drop outs from the prequel.

Not just that, in Dabangg2, there are reports of a few additions to the already existing cast. But buzz is that baddie Sonu Sood will not be seen in the movie while Sonakshi Sinha will continue to be Salman's lady love.

The music of the sequel will be composed by Sajid-Wajid.

The shooting is likely to go on floors in March.

Salman Khan and Shriya get along splendidly over their shared passion for fitness.

The Bollywood superstar is very impressed with Shriya's talent after Gali Gali Mein Chor Hai and has been promoting her in a big way.

It may be remembered that Salman also promoted Katrina Kaif and as a result she is one of the leading heroines in Bollywood today.

Sonakshi Sinha is also a Salman discovery and her career is also rocking these days.

Will Shriya also follow suit? Let's wait and watch!

There was rumor doing the rounds that Richa would be doing an item number in Prabhu Deva's Hindi remake of Siruthai titled 'Rowdy Rathore' with Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.

Richa was quick to deny the rumor and used the opportunity to stress that she is in the industry to do meaningful roles and item numbers are out of the question for her.

Richa added that she has no idea where the gossip came from as she does not know anyone associated with the film and is currently busy with her Telugu film with Prabhas and her Bengali debut with Prosenjit which coincidentally is also a remake of Siruthai.

After hand-painting the poster of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Rowdy Rathore, the street painters hired by the filmmakers have now created a portrait of the film’s lead cast Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha.

According to an insider from the film set, the actors had to spent almost four hours standing still in the same position, so the artists could create the piece flawlessly.

“Four painters were hired for the job and they all worked simultaneously and presented four versions, all of which will be unveiled in due course of time,” said an insider.

Just one film old and Sonakshi Sinha has shot for one item number already. What's more is the fact that the pretty lass seems to be aware of all the tricks which take a sizzling song to the top position. No wonder, for a raunchy number in her upcoming film Joker, the actress is aping the dance steps of Katrina Kaif in Chikni Chameli, which has already created waves all over.

'Dance Karle English Mein' is the title of the song which showcases Sonakshi in a village girl attire, something she carries off with no inhibitions. Wearing a fire colour chaniya choli and dancing away to glory with men around, Ms. Sinha surely reminds one of Chikni Chameli.

It will be interesting to wait and watch whether Dance Karle…too becomes a huge rage like Chikni…or falls flat just as a replica.

Kamal Haasan is very passionate about his new film Vishwaroopam, an upcoming bilingial spy thriller which he says is currently the biggest project in Tamil cinema.

"I was not getting any younger to just stand by and let the director waste anyone's time besides wasting his own," said Kamal Haasan on his decision to direct the film. It can be recalled that Selvaraghavan was supposed to direct this film before Kamal Haasan was forced to take over the responsibilities.

Kamal Haasan also mentioned of actress Sonakshi Sinha whose dates were also wasted being the original choice for the heroine's role that is now being played by Pooja Kumar. The actor conveyed his apologies to Sonakshi and parted ways hoping to work together in the future.

About the kind of films being made in India today, Kamal said that he appreciates the kind of films that Aamir Khan does and it is such films that keeps his interest in Bollywood movies going.

Sonakshi Sinha clearly defines her limits as an actress by disapproving of roles like Silk Smitha played by Vidya Balan in The Dirty Picture. But, the actress like a true professional admires Vidya’s ability to get into the skin of the character so well.

On enquiring about whether she will ever take up such roles,

Sonakshi without giving it a second thought says, “I will never ever do what Vidya is doing in The Dirty Picture. It’s against my principles and I can’t cross my limitations.”

“But, I must say, Vidya has done a fantastic job in the film. The promos look very promising especially the 'Ooh la la' song which has been creating waves. I wish her all the best," added Sonakshi.

Point taken Ms. Sinha. we are sure that Papa Sinha will be proud to have rules-abiding daughter who is rational at the same time.

Pawan Kalyan has things at his own pace.

Being committed to Vishnuvardhan's Panjaa, the Power Star could not give accomodate his dates for the making of Gabbar Singh, the Telugu remake of the Hindi blockbuster Dabangg that is to be directed by Harish Shankar with Shruti Haasan in the lead.

Meanwhile, the Tamil version titled Osthi, starring Simbu and Richa Gangopadhyaya is well on its way to release later this month.

To talk a bit about Osthe, the film has Simbu playng Osthe Velan, the role that Salman Khan essayed in the original. The trailers for this flick is already out and is eagerly awaited for its item song that features Mallika Sherawat, that is a rage across the state already.

Pawan will start working on Gabbar Singh very soon as Harish Shankar began shooting some scenes on Shruti Hassan. The film is scheduled to release in the summer of 2012.

If Osthe does well in Tamil Nadu, it will certainly be a confidence-booster for the makers of Gabbar Singh.
