Priya Anand, the bubbly actress who played the love interest of Siddharth in 180, was initially offered the lead role in Thuppakki opposite Vijay. But she had to put down the offer as she had already given her dates to the upcoming Bollywood project English Vinglish starring Sridevi.

Now the actress has been roped in opposite Siva Karthikeyan in Ethir Neechal, which is being produced and scripted by Dhanush.

After ruling the roost for about two decades and having solid 14 years break, Sridevi - the evergreen actress Sridevi is all set to make a comeback in a trilingual film titled ‘English Vinglish’.

R Balki, the director of ‘Cheeni Kum’ and ‘Paa’, turned producer for this film and is introducing his wife Gauri Shinde as director.

According to producer R Balki, ‘English Vinglish’ is simultaneously being made in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil and will be released in September in all three languages.

French actor Mehdi Nebbou is playing Sridevi’s husband and the film also features Priya Anand, Adil Hussain in supporting roles and Amitabh Bachchan in guest role. Sridevi plays the central character of a housewife, who enrolls for an English speaking course in order to please her husband and family.

Eros International Media has picked up the worldwide distribution rights of this film.

There were reports earlier that the 180 heroine Priya Anand would play one of the female leads in Kamal Haasan’s Viswaroopam.

Kamal Haasan, the star who is also the director of the movie, was questioned about this, he has said that he was not even aware who Priya Anand was.

Kamal wondered where such rumors surface from and clarified he has not finalized anyone for the role in question. He also made it clear that the main female lead is yet to be signed up.

Viswaroopam was announced several months ago with Selvaraghavan as the director and Sonakshi Sinha as the heroine. But the film underwent several changes and now Kamal will be directing the movie apart from playing the hero.

The buzz surrounding Kamal Haasan's Viswaroopam is getting interesting by the day.

Be it for the news that Selvaraghavan and Sonakshi Sinha opted out of the film or Kamal helming the project and planning to rope in Deepika Padukone and Isha Sharvani for important roles, the film has always been in the limelight. Now, the latest we hear is that actress Priya Anand might be playing one of the lead roles in it.

According to sources in the industry, Priya, who's worked in films like Vaamanan and 180 in Tamil, was approached by the unit recently for a prominent role. It's reported that the actress even gave an audition and did a screen test early this week for her character. While the details of her character have been kept under wraps, we understand that it's one of the female leads in the film.

When we contacted Priya, the actress declined to comment on the development.

Nithya Menon is super excited that she had one of the biggest releases of her career so far, this weekend. And the actress is obviously eager to talk about it.

“180 is a film that I’m extremely delighted be a part of. I was really fortunate that my first Telugu film, Ala Modalaindi, was a massive success. Now, I have my fingers crossed for this one,” she says.

“I play one of the two leading ladies in the film opposite Siddharth. While Priya’s (her co-star Priya Anand) part is set in the United States, mine is in India. Accordingly, my character is rustic and more Indian. It is a fabulous story and our director Jayendra Sarma has ensured he’s pushed himself to deliver a film that’s really something different for the viewers,” says Nithya.

The actor is happy to be considered one of the most promising new faces in the Telugu and Malayalam film industries and says “I was fortunate that the films that I ended up signing have become big hits. It is heartening to see that people have accepted me and my films despite the fact that I have had no training as an actor.”

Incidentally, Kannada films are on Nithya’s career plan too. “I have just done small roles in films that have appealed to me. I am most comfortable speaking in Kannada. I am from here and the city is to my heart. While I do have a release, Aidondla Aidhu, where I play a character in just one of the five stories in the film, I want my Kannada debut to be big. I haven’t really gone about looking for big films to sign on. But, I’m hoping for one such in Kannada,” she signs off.

Siddarth has revealed that he will have film releases in four languages – Tamil, Telugu, English and Hindi – in 2012. The star has confirmed this but was not willing to give out more details.

Siddarth began his career as an assistant to ace director Mani Ratnam and then went on to debut as an actor for an uncreditted role in 'Kannathil Muthamittal'. He made his debut as the lead with Shankar's 'Boys' and has been busy with Telugu films since then.

Sid is currently expecting the release of his bilingual 180 getting back with his Tamil audience and has O My Friend (Telugu) and Winds of Change (English) in his kitty.

180 is an upcoming bilingual Indian film, directed by ad filmmaker Jayendra, making this his debut feature film.

It is to be noted that this film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil languages and stars with known actors from both industries; Siddharth, Nithya Menen and Priya Anand play the lead roles, with notable roles being essayed by Mouli, Tanikella Bharani and Geetha among others.

The film, being shot on a Red One Camera handled by Balasubramaniem features music by Malayalam composer Sharreth. The film that is touted to be a breezy romantic entertainer with a refreshing script is slated to release on the 10th day of June with Actor Siddharth coming back of sorts after his hiatus from Tamil films.

The actor seems confident about this film and has stated that this film would be well received by audiences of all genre as its is the perfect film for his reunion with the tamil audience.
