Director K.S Ravikumar is making his directorial debut in Bollylwood with the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit 'Saamy' with Sanjay Dutt in the lead.

If our Bollywood sources are to believed, then K.S Ravikumar has supposedly created wonders with Sanjay Dutt's work ethic.

The actor, who hardly shot couple of scenes a day in the past is now shooting up to six scenes a day without budging until his director is totally satisfied.

The actor himself was heard saying that he now understands how top stars like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan work in the South, on the evidence of K.S.Ravikumar's previous experience with the two superstars.

Lakshmi Rai is very excited about her role in A.L Vijay's 'Thaandavam' which has Vikram, Anushka and Amy Jackson in the lead roles.

Lakshmi Rai said that she is not playing Vikram's love interest in the film and that she won't be romancing him. 

However, the sultry looking actor kept up her fan's expectations and mentioned that her role in the film is very important and will be seen throughout the film!

The actor who left for London recently to join the Thaandavam team, feels that her role in 'Thaandavam' will be much talked about and will get her lots of appreciation just like the unconventional character she played in last year's smash hit, 'Mankatha'.

Post pregnancy, Lara Dutta has finally signed her first film and shall start shooting August onwards.

Lara Dutta recently claimed that she would not be returning to Bollywood anytime soon.

"I am looking at films and scripts. But I am not going to be back on the sets for at least the next couple of months because I want to make sure that my baby is secure. Only then I'll be back," said the model turned actor who delivered a baby girl in January this year.

The sexy looking wife of Mahesh Bhupathi and the mother of his child has now put an end to her self-imposed exile from the film industry signing Bejoy Nambiar's film 'David'.

Apparently Lara will start shooting for the film from August.

Not much is known about Lara's character other than the fact that David has an ensemble cast of Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tabu, Vikram, Monica Dogra and others.

Vikram's film, Thaandavam directed by Vijay and with Anushka and Amy Jackson as the heroines was supposed to release in July but it has been delayed and the release date will have to be postponed.

According to those in the know, the film is likely to be released in September instead.

Fans of both Vikram and Anushka will be disappointed with this. However, the audio launch will be held in July. The music for Thaandavam has been composed by GV Prakash Kumar.

The young composer who has already worked with Vikram and Vijay in Deiva Thirumagal has been acknowledged as a bright new talent and he will be hoping to deliver again with this album.

The Deiva Thirumagal team led by director A.L Vijay is presently busy with their next project, Thandavam.

The buzz is that Vikram, who is the film’s protagonist, will be playing the role of an undercover officer. The last time he did a cop’s role was in the super hit film Saamy. 

The film stars Anushka and Amy Jackson as the lead ladies with Jagapati Babu, Santhanam, Nasser and Saranya in supporting roles. 

Nirav Shah handles the camera and Anthony edits the film. G.V Prakash, who has been working with A.L Vijay since his Kireedam, is composing music for this film too.

 Bollywood lass Deepika Padukone, who is presently shooting for the much awaited 3D film Kochadaiyaan, has been approached by director Shankar for his forthcoming film.

The rumour is that the leggy actress seems to be quite interested in the film. But the news hasn’t been confirmed yet as the talks are still in its initial stages.

Though his previous film Nanban is still going strong in theaters, the Endhiran director isn’t interested in laying back and enjoying the success of the film. Instead he has started working on his next flick. The buzz around the industry is that this untitled flick might even feature Surya or Vikram.

Vikram made a sensational debut in Bollywood with Mani Ratnam's Raavan with Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai.

The critics who were impressed with Vikram's work and made the star a favorable impression with the audience as well, that he is now all set to do another fully fledged Hindi film.

To be directed by Mani Ratnam's assistant, Bejoy Nambiar, the film has been entitled David. This director made a huge impact with his film Shaitaan and David also promises to be different.

David will be about a gangster but will also include commercial elements. Vikram said that the film is going to be a quickie and is likely to be released in 2012.

Actress Deeksha Seth, Vikram's heroine in his upcoming action entertainer Rajapattai will be next opposite Manchu Manoj Kumar in a bilingual that is to be produced by his sister Lakshmi Manchu under the banner, Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures and Manchu Entertainment.

The film that has been titled Thalaivan Varuvan for the Tamil version is titled 'Oo Kodathara Ulikki Padathara' in Telegu.

The film is said to have a story that spans four generations and a palatial palace set has been erected in Hyderabad for the shooting of this film.

Directed by Sekhar Raja, the film has music by Bobo Shashi.

Vikram has made it very clear.

"I have taken the audience on an emotional journey in Ravanan and Deiva Thirumagal. Now I would like to make my fans feel good with my 'gym boy' persona in Rajapattai," said the actor.

Directed by Suseenthiran, Rajapattai is touted to be a powerful entertainer and has Deeksha Seth making her Tamil debut as the lead opposite Chiyaan Vikram. Yuvan Shankar Raja, who is composing the music for the film is also very upbeat about his first time association with a Vikram starrer.

"These days we read in newspapers about incidents of land grabbing and the police action on the wrong-doers. This is the basic knot of Rajapattai," revealed the makers of the film. With the plot revolving around the ubiquitous criminal phenomenon of land encroachment, Rajapattai has come to be seen as a potential action film as well.

Vikram looks very convincing as usual in his role and he has made the persona of the gym boy his own. To further reach the audience in a more effective way, the actor has released a string of mobile apps across all platforms. He is the second actor in South India to do it, after our very own Mahesh Babu.

Amongst all other highlights, the film also has a hot item song with actors Shriya Saran and Reema Sen shaking their legs with Vikram. Now if this isn't interesting enough, you just got to wait until the movie hits the big screen later this month.

Vikram’s upcoming film Thandavam with director A.L Vijay is getting stronger every day and it just got stronger with Telugu star Jagapathy Babu joining the team that also has actors Anushka Shetty and Amy Jackson.

"Thandavam is an in and out commercial film completely and has nothing to do with the Malayalam film of the same name," clarified the director creating a sense of anticipation among Vikram’s fans.

The crew of Thandavam to be directed by Vijay has Nirav Shah as the cinematographer and Antony Gonsalvez as the editor with G.V Prakash Kumar composing the soundtrack and the background score for the film.

"The photo shoot for Thandavam will begin today with Vikram, Jagapathy Babu, Amy Jackson and the first look of Thandavam can be expected very soon," said UTV Motion Pictures’ Dhananjayan who revealed that the project will start rolling December onwards.
