Bipasha denied the news of her split with longtime beau John Abraham.

When asked if she was single, she said, "No, I am with John, and both of us are very happy. Please pray for us." She was even wearing the the two rings John had gifted her sometime ago .

Some time back there were reports that Bipasha and John have ended their rocky 10-year-old relationship because of difference of opinions. A close friend of theirs said, "Bipasha wanted marriage but John was not ready to be tied down. They were together for a decade, so the decision came naturally to Bipasha."

Deepika Padukone is ready to take on Munni and Sheila. The lissome beauty's set with her hot item number in Rohan Sippy's film Dum Maaro Dum, presented by Fox Star Studios, releasing on April 22.

And this one promises to be very different from the earthy Munni and the tease of Sheila. It's going to be out and out irreverent, we are told.

For the first time, audiences will get a glimpse of her oomph. "Deepika transforms into a super sensual girl in the recreation of this iconic song," says a source. The song is closely guarded; it was shot with minimum crew around, apart from the dancers. There was a lot of planning that went into Deepika's look. Apparently, an even skimpier skirt was chosen for her initially, but the director and choreographer felt that it was restricting the dance movements.

Rohan Sippy is glad with the way the item song has shaped up. "Deepika is naturally very sexy, but she has never done anything this brazen. It is a very irreverent attitude that she needed to carry apart from being sexual on the screen. DMD is an attitude, it is all about breaking free. Breaking free from conventions, fears and taboos," he told TOI. Deepika may manage to steal a bit of Bollywood's biggest sex icon Zeenat Aman's thunder, as she steps into the remixed version of DMD!

Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit turned down a film opposite Tamil superstar Rajnikanth because she didn't want to play his sister.

"Would have loved to do a film with Rajnikanth, but the role was that of his sister... need to wait for the right role," Madhuri wrote on microblogging site Twitter.

Madhuri has previously worked with the 61-year-old star in "Uttar Dakshin" in 1987.

Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupati are in Dubai since Mahesh is competing in the Dubai Duty Free Men's Open tournament.

The couple got married in Goa on Feb 19th this month and registered their marriage before that on Feb 16, flew to Dubai immediately after the wedding since Mahesh was to play in the tournament. Unable to find enough time for the honeymoon, Lara accompanied her hubby to Dubai. The couple is making the most of every minute they get to spend with each other by taking a stroll and watching a movie on days between Mahesh's matches.

The newlyweds zeroed in on watching '7 Khoon Maaf' on their honeymoon, ironically an unusual choice considering, it's anything but romantic! Newlywed couple watching a film which shows a woman killing her six husbands!

Lara revealed, "Hubby has the day off 2 spend with me! Beat the dDokovich bros yesterday. Planning 2 watch Saath Khoon Maaf! Then dinner with friends!"

Nonetheless, Mahesh we have to say you are a good sport! On and off the field, that is!

After Deepika Padukone, Rajinikanth is keen to get another Bollywood actress Rekha in his live-animation film Rana.

Rajinikanth seems to be really putting together things for a grand comeback in Bollywood. While his next ambitious project Rana is primarily a Tamil film, it is being made as a bilingual in Hindi as well. Top Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone has already been roped in to play the female lead opposite Rajinikanth. But Rajinikanth has a triple role in the film which adds to the possibility of having more leading ladies being paired opposite him.

Recently there was buzz that Madhuri Dixit was offered the film which she declined. If latest rumours are to be believed, the makers have approached Rekha to be paired opposite Rajinikanth in the film. Interestingly even the last Hindi film of Rajinikanth ( Bulandi , which released in 2000) had Rekha in it though they were not romantically paired opposite each other. Rajinikant and Rekha have also worked in the past in Phool Bane Aangaray .

Incidentally both Deepika Padukone and Rekha are from South origin though they are popular actresses in their own right in Bollywood.

They wanted to be different, says Hemant Sharma, news editor of India TV, and that is why they came up with 'Bigg Toss', which sees item girl Rakhi Sawant and Pakistani actress Veena Malik entertaining viewers by discussing cricketers in their unique style during the World Cup matches.

'Usually, during the World Cup matches, all the news channels organise discussions with four or five experts in the studio. This concept doesn't excite people anymore. We wanted to do something different so we zeroed in on this concept,' Sharma told IANS.

'Bigg Toss', which went on air Feb 17, will be shown only when India is playing. It features 12 contestants divided into two groups who will choose their favourite player from the Indian team and bet on him. The group that scores the maximum points will be declared the winner of a Honda car.

Why Rakhi and Veena?

'Both of them can add a lot of drama to the show and people are interested in watching them on small screen,' Sharma said.

Apart from Rakhi and Veena, the list of contestants includes cricketer Yuvraj Singh's father Yograj Singh, singers Shankar Sawhney and Ashok Masti, beautician Sylvie and RJ Simran, among others.

Ratan Rajput better known as Laali of Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo is getting nostalgic as the show comes to an end after running successfully for two years. The last episode of the show airs on Monday, February 14.

The 7.30 pm slot will once again be taken over by Dev-Radhika’s romance, Choti Bahu. “All good things come to an end. I’m not excited that my show is ending on Valentine’s Day, but I’m happy that I met great people and made good friends during the course of the show. I will always cherish everything I learnt from my senior co-actors,” says Rajput, who plays the lead in the show.

The actor now plans to revisit Wai, to relive the time she had spent there when her show had flagged off. “That schedule is so memorable. I loved the ghagras I wore and the way I loitered all over the fields and the village by lanes. It reminded me of the villages I have seen in Bihar. We would play on the sets all the time,” she reminisces. She adds that once the show’s sets shifted to Film City, Goregaon, she never went back to Wai.

Rajput says that she hasn’t had a holiday in a long time and she can finally take a much-needed breather as the show is wrapping up. “No actor regrets not having rested. I’ve never sat at home without work but I have some time on hand now. I will go back home, spend a few days eating food cooked by my mother, sleep peacefully and do whatever I like. I might even go backpacking and switch off my phone,” she says.

Rajput adds that there is at least a month before she starts shooting for Ratan Ka Rishta, her swayamvar show. “I’m not really on a long holiday. I will take breaks in between as I am keeping tabs on the entries that come in for my swayamvar. It’s a life-changing decision after all,” she says.

It was not going to be easy. Looking her best every day, interacting with total strangers… and figuring out which one of the men she was going to be spending the rest of her life with! Life is certainly not easy for modern-day Draupadis, especially if she is a certain Rakhi Sawant.

When the bold Rakhi Sawant announced her ‘Swayamwar' on television, the initial reaction of the Indian audiences was shock. Disbelief had, however, turned to amusement by the time the firebrand starlet announced her shortlist of ‘princes'. And soon enough, everyone wanted to be part of the first TV-orchestrated Indian wedding. It is irrelevant now that the actor never got married to her beau Elesh Parujanwala, even though she did briefly experience “family life” with the Canadian citizen on NDTV Imagine's similarly voyeuristicPati, Patni aur Woh.

Sensing the soaring TRPs, Imagine unleashed Rahul Mahajan's quest for his dulhaniya.

What followed was a bewildering display of desperation as wannabe actresses wooed the infamous Mahajan. The one who did end up being Mrs. Mahajan, Dimpy Ganguly, found herself, not surprisingly, in violent marital discord. That has been the only wedding to have played out on Indian TV.

That did not deter the same channel from releasing its third instalment of theSwayamwar series. This time, Ratan Rajput, more famously known as Laalifrom a Zee TV show is out to find her ‘rishta'. Ratan's entry shatters the myth that only the audacious Rakhi and Mahajan can take the plunge into extreme reality TV. Ratan justified her decision in an interview saying she wanted to take the burden of matchmaking off her parents' shoulders. Not surprisingly, some contestants (yes, that is what the suitors are called) who vied for Rakhi's hand later confessed that they did it only because they wanted to appear on TV.

On the other side

Surprisingly, the Swayamwar fever was preceded on foreign shores by The Bachelor series whose 14th instalment was recently aired in India.

The success rate of the hopefuls overseas has not been great. The last episode ended with the bachelors/bachelorettes (more often than not millionaires) not picking anyone. But the format seems to be addictive, with some contestants such as Jen Schefft reappearing in successive episodes.

But like all reality TV, scripted or not, these shows manage to grab eyeballs. “It is entertaining and fun. Who cares what happens after the show?” says student S. Niveditha. “I don't understand the debate about these shows. If you don't like it, just don't watch it,” says another viewer, Arpitha Shetty.

So if you have reached the ‘marriageable age' and don't want to go through the ordeal of serving tea to prospective grooms/brides, head straight to the TV.

Who knows? Once Indian channels exhaust adventurous ‘celebrities', theSwayamwar arena could open up to ordinary people like you and me.

The much awaited sequel of the director duo, Abbas-Mustan’s 2008 action packed thriller, ‘Race’, is all set to go into production in August this year.

The cast of the second installment of the smash hit, being produced by Tips, has been finalized, and while some of the stars from the first part have been retained, some weren’t lucky enough to bag a role in the successful film’s sequel.

"The casting has to be perfect once the script is okayed," Abbas-Mustan said some time back. "The expectations from Race 2 are humongous and we plan to make it bigger and better than the first part.”

'Race 2' cast
The impressive star cast includes Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor, apart from John Abraham, who replaced Akshay Khanna as the negative lead.

The casting of the film has been constantly hounded by rumors ever since it was officially announced. Initially, it was reported that Kareena and Asin would be the leading ladies, however, these reports turned out to be untrue.

Falsifying the rumors, the director duo denied the existence of Junior Bachchan in the film.

Producer Ramesh Taurani said, "Not true at all! Abhishek isn't part of the film."

Deepika and Sonakshi replace Kat and Bips
Both the leading ladies, Katrina and Bipasha, who brought the oomph factor in the first part, have lost out to Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha in the sequel. The role sashayed by Sameera Reddy in ‘Race’ as Anil’s leading lady is yet to be decided. The leading ladies will be different as well.

"Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha have been confirmed. We need to finalize one more leading lady opposite Anil," said Taurani.

Whatever be the cast of this film, audience have very high expectations from it considering director duo Abbas-Mustan’s panache for making films that leave audience guessing right till the end. Their finesse for handling action and suspense based subjects has been very well highlighted in ‘Race’.

Whether they manage to repeat the magic again is to be seen.

Latest on weight loss spree is Sonakshi Sinha. The newbie has been asked by Race 2’s director Abbas Mustan to do away completely from her debut film Dabangg’s village belle image and shed her extra kilos.
In a recent media interview, the 23-year-old said, “I’ve to get into even better shape for Joker and Race 2. For the last two years, all I seem to be doing is losing weight.”
Producer Ramesh Taurani added that Sonakshi will be presented as striking as Bipasha Basu was presented in the first edition. Sonakshi will also be seen in Farah Khan’s Joker.

Till date, the battle was between was primarily between Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra when it came to occupying that number one slot. However now with Anushka Sharma and Sonakshi Sinha seeing a rise in their fortunes and signing multiple films, the battle seems to be intensifying.

"Kareena is indeed the number one actress by miles when it comes to popularity. On the other hand Priyanka wins hands down when it comes to some of the tough roles that she has in her kitty currently. Katrina falls in between as she raised the glamour quotient (TEES MAAR KHAN) while also demonstrating histrionics (RAAJNEETI) last year. None of them can afford to relax though, what with Anushka and Sonakshi making their presence felt loud and clear", says an industry observer.

He has his reasons to say that. Anushka Sharma has shown gradual progress from RAB NE BANA DI JODI days and showed once again with BAND BAAJA BAARAAT that she is a terrific actress. Even in PATIALA HOUSE, which was basically a Rishi Kapoor-Akshay Kumar film, she shone in each of her scenes. No wonder, she has just bagged the latest Yash Raj Films project LADIES V/S RICKY BAHL even though her three film contract with the production house has expired. On the other hand Sonakshi Sinha now has confirmed assignments with Akshay Kumar (JOKER) and Saif Ali Khan (RACE 2).

Bollywood’s latest sensation Sonakshi Sinha looked pretty and smart in Dabangg. But surprisingly, director duo Abbas-Mustan wants her to shed more weight for her role in the film Race 2, a sequel to the hit film Race.

The makers of Race 2 want Sonakshi to look as hot as Bipasha Basu in the original. The 23-year-old actress said that all she has being doing the last two years is to lose weight. She added that she has to get into even better shape for her roles in Race 2 and Joker.

Well, Sonakshi knows that she has to look good to be in the business. Name and fame come with a huge price! What say?

One of Bollywood's most volatile couples, Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra have reportedly called it quits yet again! Yes, you read that right, just when you thought PC and Shaks were going to make their relationship public, seems like the duo have had enough of each other.

Buzz is that unlike the last time when Shahid broke up with Priyanka due to her increasing proximity with Ranbir, this time it's Priyanka who has called it quits.

The real reason behind this break up is still unknown but it is being speculated that the couple could not stop fighting over conflicting morals and values. Shahid wanted Priyanka to follow the path of spirituality but she is too much of a party lover.

A source told Mid-Day, "The biggest problem between them was lack of communication. As it is things were bad, with Shahid shooting non-stop for his dad's film. He gets completely involved with his work, and forgets everything else. Which isn't easy for any girlfriend to deal with, and it held to a lot of squabbles. What made is worse was that after every fight, he would go into a shell and refuse to talk about things. She would try and reach out, but he would put her on ignore alert, blocking her out completely."

Meanwhile, Shahid out of frustration started to ignore Priyanka completely. He reportedly stopped taking her calls and even turned her away when she went to see him at his pad. Unable to bear this humiliation, PC ended their love story.

Following the split, we wonder if Priyanka will attend Shahid's birthday bash this Friday!

There are gossips that Ranbir Kapoor, the hottest dude of Bollywood is planning to settle his life with the Indian-Brit beauty and golden girl of Bollywood or known as Barbie doll of Bollywood, Katrina Kaif.

Earlier there was a huge buzz in the B-town about their affair and relationships. There is the latest gossip about these two love birds. Recently Ranbir took Katrina to his ancestral home in Deonar so as to meet his grandmother Krishna Raj Kapoor.

Again the couple was seen together getting mushy on flight while returning from Amsterdam. After seeing this, one can muse if the family has given green signal for their relationship and they may finally get married.

The line ‘Granny ne chai pe bulaya hai?’ or something else may be the cause but the meeting between Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor’s grandma wasn’t truly to make the bout. However one can’t deny this, that Kat and Ranbir are gradually disclosing their relationship status, giving photos with fans, enjoying secret vacation in Frankfurt or going for long drive in the car on the streets of Mumbai.

It seems the title song of Rohan Sippy's Dum Maro Dum, an item number picturised on Deepika Padukone, has ruffled quite a few feathers.

First it was Dev Anand who raised an objection to how no one had contacted him about the rights of the song from his 1970s blockbuster Hare Rama Hare Krishna.

Then it was the Goan government itself that started getting tetchy about how the tropical paradise was being depicted (accurately, some could say, with Russian mafia and drugged out teens).

Now apparently Bipasha Basu, the leading lady of the film is stomping her foot; the item number, starring Deepika Padukone, is what is being perceived as the first look of the film. In fact the poster only has Deepika grooving to the number and no one else.

This is giving the impression that it is a Deepika starrer. Bips has been pipped! It needs to be reminded that Deepika and Bips also had a cold war when starring together in Bachna Ae Haseeno, starring poster boy Ranbir.

Our source from the production house said, "There were various debates about how the first look poster of the film will be made.

Finally it was decided that rather than having Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu on the posters of the film it would be nice to have Deepika who features in the item song `Dum Maro Dum'.

When Bipasha learnt about the poster she was not very happy and called Rohan Sippy who explained his promotional strategy to her."

When contacted Rohan Sippy said, "Deepika is doing a title song of the film. On the teaser poster you can hardly recognise Deepika.

It's brand Dum Maaro Dum and Bipasha is the female lead of the film. But I guess that's what happens with guest numbers and with iconic songs."

On the other hand, Bipasha denied any dispute and said, "I was the first one to tweet about the first look of DMD because I loved it and am super excited about our film.

Deepika is a super dancer and has done total justice to our song. There are no controversies here."

Vijayalakshmi, who had acted as Suriya’s pair in Friends, and played Nayanthara’s sister in Boss Engira Bhaskaran, lodged a complaint against Seeman for making false promises that he would marry her.

The actress met the Commissioner of Police yesterday and gave her complaint. When reporters contacted Seeman, his advocate Chandrasekar said that these are false allegations made to tarnish Seeman’s image.

The advocate also said that Seeman is planning to marry a Sri Lankan Tamil who was affected during the internal strife in that country and preparations are going on.
