"I now understand how Rajnikanth & Kamal Haasan works!" : Sanjay Dutt

Director K.S Ravikumar is making his directorial debut in Bollylwood with the Hindi remake of the Tamil hit 'Saamy' with Sanjay Dutt in the lead.

If our Bollywood sources are to believed, then K.S Ravikumar has supposedly created wonders with Sanjay Dutt's work ethic.

The actor, who hardly shot couple of scenes a day in the past is now shooting up to six scenes a day without budging until his director is totally satisfied.

The actor himself was heard saying that he now understands how top stars like Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan work in the South, on the evidence of K.S.Ravikumar's previous experience with the two superstars.

I'm game for intimate scenes: Madhuri Dixit-Nene

You can’t think of Ishqiya (2010), the movie written and produced by Vishal Bhardwaj, without thinking of its central character – Krishna.

In what was one her most powerful roles, Vidya Balan played the sultry, sharp-tongued character in printed saris and long tresses. Playing a dominatrix of sorts, Vidya's kiss and intimate scenes with Arshad Warsi became one of the talking points of the movie.

So now, as Madhuri Dixit-Nene prepares to start shooting for the sequel (Dedh Ishqiya) in September, everyone wants to know what her character along with Arshad Warsi and Naseeruddin Shah is going to be like.

Madhuri says, “I know there were talks about me being associated with the project even before I gave my nod. But at that time, I was taking things slowly to settle down and help my kids adjust with the new environment.”

“I’m really excited about both my co-stars. They were brilliant in Ishqiya. I loved that film also because of its director Abhishek, who didn’t make it seem like his debut film. And I don’t have enough words to praise Vidya Balan for her awesome performance that took the film to another level,” added Madhuri, who is all praises for Ishqiya’s actors and director Abhishek Chaubey.

If her character is going to be anything like Vidya’s, the question arises whether the 45-year-old mother of two will be comfortable with intimate scenes.

“If I’m convinced that the intimate scenes are essential to the script and I know it will be shot aesthetically, I won’t say no to intimate scenes. Vidya’s scenes were shot so beautifully in Ishqiya. If Dedh Ishqiya absolutely needs something of that sort, I’m game.

I don’t think marriage or motherhood has anything to do with an actor’s work. My kids (Arin and Rayan) and husband (Dr Sriram Nene) know that I’m an artiste. I can’t shy away from anything that a script demands, even if it’s physical intimacy,” reasoned the actor.

Of course, the veteran actor won’t be in unfamiliar territory, having shot for intimate kissing and lovemaking scenes with Vinod Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and Aamir Khan back then. Kangna's silence?

While Ram Gopal Varma and Sanjay Dutt fight it out in public, Kangna Ranaut who finds herself caught in the middle is maintaining total silence about the entire episode.

Sources close to the actor state that Kangna does not even want to take a ‘no comment’ stance.

In fact, The actor refuses to utter even a single word about it.

After the debacle of his recent release, RGV had stated on his micro-blogging site that Dutt had forced him to drop Kangna Ranaut from his film.

“Kangna wants to steer clear from any controversy and instead focus on her work,” says a source.

At one time Kangana was extremely friendly with both Sanjay and his wife Maanayata. Kangna’s personal rapport with the star had even helped her professionally as she found herself in several films Dutt was part of.

But after a fall out over a year ago, the actor found herself at the receiving end from Dutt and his pals.

The schism in the friendship was evident when she was sidelined during the promotions of Rascals. Kangna then acted difficult during the dubbing of the film. Apparently differences between the couple and her arose after she began talking about her proximity to them.

RGV inspired by Rajini..

Ace director, Ram Gopal Varma has gone on record to say that an item song in his film Department, is inspired from Rajinikanth's Aasai Nooruvagai number from the film Adutha Varisu.

The Hindi song Dan Dan Cheeni features Rana Dagubatti and Sanjay Dutt dancing with item girl, Nathalia Kaur - an Indo - Brazilian beauty is choreographed by Ganesh Acharya.

At RGV's insistence, composers Dharam - Sandeep added a 30 second line from the original to their own composition,

RGV said that the Aasai Nooruvagai song is one of his favorites and Dan Dan Cheeni is his way of paying tribute to it.

Raghava Lawrence's new project

Raghava Lawrence is currently directing a Telugu film called Rebel that will have Prabhas and Tamannah in the lead.

After this project Lawrence will give directing a rest and return to acting. He will be the hero in Rasu Madhuravan's next film entitled Paraman. The duo had worked together in a film called Pandi and are looking forward to working together again.

Muni 3 is also in the works for Raghava Lawrence following the super success of Kanchana or Muni 2. There is also talk of a Hindi remake of Muni 2 which will have Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt reprising Lawrence and Sarathkumar's roles.

Deepika Padukone dumps Race II for Rajinikanth

Earlier, when Deepika was approached for Rajini’s Rana, she walked out of Housefull II to spare dates for the Southern Superstar. Now, Deepika has apparently ditched another Bollywood film Race II and yet again it is to star opposite Superstar Rajinikanth.

It is said that Deepika Padukone has opted out of Race II to give dates to Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Kochadaiyaan, but kept the makers of Race II in the dark about the real reason for not working with them. However, this has gone down well neither with Ramesh Taurani, the producer or the film crew of Race II who are quite upset with Deepika Padukone.

“Deepika's manager Anirban said that she has bagged a big Hollywood film and it is a lifetime opportunity for her. So we had to let her go,” said Taurani.

But sources claim that it was later found out that the actress opted out for the Rajnikanth film and not for any Hollywood film. Apparently, this sudden exit of Deepika has caused a lot of trouble for the makers and that also includes monetary losses.

In fact, Deepika Padukone had even shot for two days for Race II. But reportedly she wasn’t happy with the slow progress of the film.

According to a source, who is close to Deepika, the actress didn’t leave Race II because of Rajinikanth’s film. She was just waiting for Race II to wrap up soon, as her dates for December and January were already wasted due to delay. Now, the makers of Race II required Deepika’s new dates because of Sanjay Dutt, who was recently roped in for the action thriller. And that created problem for Deepika as she couldn’t allot fresh dates to the film because of her prior commitments.

Whatever be the reason, producer Ramesh Taurani of Tips is not in a mood to take this lightly. Last it was heard that Taurani is lodging a complaint against Deepika Padukone with the Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA).

Deepika trumped the other favourite Katrina Kaif to romance Rajinikanth in Kochadaiyaan.

Katrina ain't aadha pahua ..

After a sizzling Sheila, bindass Bodyguard and Chikni Chameli, Katrina's only gotten better at it. But fame, as always, comes at a price.

Sources from Bollywood recently revealed that the shooting schedule for Katrina's Chikni Chameli song for Agneepath was rather demanding and stretched over long hours. So much so, that while shooting for the song, Katrina got blisters and her feet started bleeding. Worried about her condition, her staff asked the choreographer to stop the shoot.

Packing up for the day would have meant sending Hrithik Roshan and Sanjay Dutt home, too. But Katrina proved to be a thorough professional and insisted that the actors needn't worry about her.

Katrina resumed her dance in no time, and completed the shoot as planned. Looks like this Chameli gave it her 100 per cent, no aadha, pahua here!

Shah Rukh Khan’s over-ambitious superhero project RA.One received quite a few negative reviews in India. Talking from Los Angeles, where the actor was on tour with his film team until Saturday, he says, seeming rather upset, “I was reading some reviews and they were silly. They are looking into some other aspect of filmmaking.”

Internationally, he claims that the Anubhav Sinha directorial got a great response. “LA Times has carried a fantastic movie review,” he insists, before adding, “We presented the film to a lot of people from Fox (Fox Studios, US) and we spoke to the foreign press on the technical aspect of RA.One. It’s important that we promote this ideology and explain to the world that we can do it.”

Within this week, the actor has travelled to Dubai, London and Toronto, before arriving in the US. His promotional rampage in India too made headlines. But the real challenge he claims to face is “showing the world that India too can make high-tech films.”

And to facilitate the same, he has set up a technically advanced studio in the city, which he used for the postproduction of RA.One. “The good news is that the studio is two or three years ahead of any other. This is the first step in that direction,” says the actor-producer, adding, “This is the time to bring this genre to India. And I have started it. Instead of cribbing, if you want to modernise and make different movies, you have to use this technology.”

Till Friday, RA.One had collected over Rs 60 cr at the box office in India, the film’s spokesperson claims. “I feel relieved to see it open well. I’ve been travelling, so I wasn’t able to follow the figures much. All my partners now feel that they’ll be able to recover their money.”

The film, which also stars Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor, released on Diwali, October 26 and was made for a reported budget of Rs 150 crore. Ask him about the sequel, and he says he’s leaving it all to time: “Let’s see how it fares. It’s lot of hard work. I’m happy how people have responded, despite mixed reports. Once it has come to the fore, I’ll give it a thought.”

Khan will be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s next directorial Don 2 in December, and will start shooting for Yash Chopra’s film in January 2012.

Shakthi Kapoor evicted frm Bigg Boss

After being humiliated by most Housemates in the last few days of his stay in the Bigg Boss House, ‘Aaoo’ man Shakti Kapoor, who had entered the House with 12 ladies amid much fanfare and widespread speculation, faced defeat this week, as he lost out in votes to lesser known names like Mahek Chahal, Pooja Bedi and Shradha Sharma.

Shakti had entered the House performing to the number Bachna Ae Haseeno Lo Main Aa Gaya, but by the time he left, he was the one who seemed to need all the ‘saving’.

While the actor was said to have entered the reality show to rectify his image spoilt by the sting operation that India TV had carried on him a few years ago, he seems to have returned from Bigg Boss with his image marred further.

Some also link his eviction to his earlier spat with the show’s co-host Salman Khan, which Shakti also indirectly discussed with another contestant on the show.

The Bollywood villain was not only seen playing politics with the Housemates, but also received flack when he slapped Miss Afghanistan Vida Samadzai’s butt on the show. Vida, who had become his good friend in the initial days, deserted him as she felt he was indulging in bitching and back-biting.

Shakti’s many other ways with the ladies on the show were abhorred, and now the actor is left with a more tarnished image than ever before.

Celebrity publicist and Bigg Boss specialist Dale Bhagwagar remarked, “What hit Shaktiji worst on the show was his long-time friend Pooja Bedi, repeatedly pointing out that he was not behaving like a gentleman, a good father, husband and family man. I guess, that negative branding hurt him the most,” adds Dale, sympathizing with the actor.

He analyses, “This situation was accelerated by the fact that while Shaktiji was being alienated by many Housemates and battled the onslaughts alone, he had absolutely no back-up support in terms of a PR machinery or management team outside the House, which could have done much to either justify his actions with his image, or at least dilute the negative impact, by portraying his actions in lighter vein. This was a big factor that went against him for garnering votes,” rues the PR expert.

Ranbir to enter the "Big Boss" house

If there is one thing that the Bigg Boss house has in abundance this year, it’s women! The actor, along with singer Mohit Chauhan, will be visiting the sets of Bigg Boss 5 – Aapka Farman to promote his upcoming movie Rockstar.

While it is still not confirmed if the actor will enter the house and speak to the contestants in person, we have heard that Ranbir is very keen to have a conversation with the ladies – especially so because they are ‘trapped’ in the house with a handful of men.

Ladies Man, Ranbir has, in fact, even managed to convince Mohit to try to convince Sanjay Dutt so that they can get a glimpse of the women inside the house.

Mahek's safety on Big Boss

With Salman Khan returning to co-host the Aapka Farmaan episode of Bigg Boss with Sanjay Dutt, it would be interesting to see, if his 'good friend' Mahek Chahal can get away with her new-found arrogance on the reality show.

Ever since her nomination this week, Salman's girl has been unnecessarily fighting and arguing with most contestants in the House. This week, she dramatically attacked new Housemate Siddharth Bhardwaj over petty issues and patched up with him later.

"Whether it is her ego or insecurity, Mahek is surely being unreasonable and coming across as artificial; just like Pooja Bedi. She may be doing all this to save herself from the eviction. But she needn't worry about that when she has Salman Khan's influential hand over her," says a source.

Some time ago, it came to be known that the Norway-based Mahek is special to Salman. It was revealed that the superstar not only recommended her name for his earlier films Wanted and Main Aur Mrs. Khanna, but also for Bigg Boss.

According to reports, when Mahek got a call from the makers of Bigg Boss, she had already packed her bags and readied herself for the show, assuming that no one could ever refuse Salman's recommendation. She was right!

Now, whether Mahek is getting too big for her boots is not as important as the bigger question: Can the Salman connection save her from eviction? The other five Housemates nominated this week include Pooja Misrra, Raageshwari, Juhi Parmar, Amar Upadhyay and Shonali Nagrani, while Pooja Bedi, Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, Shradha Sharma, Mandeep Bevli, Vida Samadzai and Shakti Kapoor are safe for the time being.

Satellite rights for 41 crores - Agneepath

Karan Johar has a reason to be happy. His forthcoming film Agneepath has fetched a satellite price of Rs 41 crores, the highest ever in the history of Bollywood.

A source told Mumbai Mirror "Agneepath is hot property in the industry today. The promos have got great response. Everybody is looking forward to seeing Hrithik Roshan playing the legendary Vijay Dinanath Chauhan, the role that Amitabh Bachchan did in the original. That's the reason the channel did not hesitate in shelling out Rs 41 crore. Even Aamir Khan's film with Reema Kagti and SRK's RA.One have fetched lesser money than Agneepath."

When contacted, Jayantilal Gada of Pen India, the agency for the channel, said, "Yes we have bought the film at a huge price but I can't speak about the economics in print. We had a couple of options but we went for Agneepath because we firmly believe that all of Hrithik's films except Lakshya have done tremendous business on satellite. The promos of Agneepath are a rage right now and that's why we put our bets on this film."

Stereotypes should be obsolete: Lisa Haydon

There used to be a time when models, who wanted to be part of the film industry, were questioned on their capability to actually act. However, model-turned-actress Lisa Haydon sees no logic in that question anymore.

“Aren’t there plenty of models who can act well and look good at the same time?” questions Lisa, adding, “Over the years, models — men and women — have proven their credibility as versatile actors. This thought that models can’t act, should be made obsolete.”

Rascals, which is Lisa's second film, will see her playing a fun and crazy girl. “She’s so different from the way I am in reality, but that’s the fun part of it. Everyone is a little crazy in the film. I’ve said lines I’d never say — it was quite amazing an experience,” she said.

Lisa's debut film Aisha had her rubbing shoulders with a very young cast but in the case of Rascals, she had the very senior and talented Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn for company. “Just to think that I worked with the likes of Sanjay and Ajay so early in my career is rather encouraging,” she mentioned, adding, “They were really helpful during the shoot; moreover, their spontaneity and commitment to the job keeps newcomers like us on our toes.”

The high point of the film is her seductive number Shake It Saiyyan and Lisa’s passion for dance made it easy for her. “I’ve rehearsed tirelessly for the song; designer Aki Narula has put together eight fabulous outfits and the final outcome looks pretty sizzling,” she confesses.

This part-Malayali-part-Australian, who’s been a successful model, feels acting and modelling are very different from each other. “Acting needs more involvement while modelling is more about confidence and attitude — it’s not just glamour. Sadly, despite all the hard work, models don’t get enough credit,” states Lisa.

Salman helps another damsel in distress

Salman Khan can be a very good friend if and when he chooses to be.

And when it concerns a damsel in distress, you can be rest assured he'll do his best to help out. The latest to be at the receiving end of benevolence is Mahek Chahal.

Apparently, it was at the star's recommendation that the channel agreed to include the starlet as a contestant on Bigg Boss 5, which he co-hosts with Sanjay Dutt.

Sallu felt that the show would help her get noticed, and thus enable her to make another attempt in Bollywood.

"It was due to Salman's insistence that the channel roped her in," says the source.

A few years ago, she had became the object of his affection. As a result, she also bagged roles in Wanted and Main Aur Mrs Khanna. Now, thanks to him, she finds herself at the receiving end of yet another favour.

Mahek has featured in the box-office dud Nayee Padosan and has also done an item number in Chameli. She hit it off with Salman when they did a show together in Nairobi a couple of years ago.

During this trip, they spent considerable time in each other's company, giving rise to rumours of there being more than just friendship between the two.

His then girlfriend, Katrina Kaif, apparently was also not too happy with their growing proximity.

It looks like Mahek, who is based in Norway and has now made Mumbai her home, is once again all set to show off her 'oomph' factor via the small screen.

Hopefully, this time, she manages to impress others in Bollywood too and not just Salman!

Earlier, Akshay Kumar had helped his buddy Vindoo Dara Singh enter the same show, which he eventually won. Akki had also recommended Vindoo's wife Dina Umarova for an adventure-based reality show that he had hosted on the same channel.

Salman’s next protégée

“Salman should have become an expert in giving Hindi lessons by now, as he has years of experience behind him”, teased Ajay Devgn who made an appearance at the Bigg Boss house recently to promote his next film, Rascals.

Ajay Devgn was indirectly hinting that Sallu bhai has toiled for years to get his ex-girlfriend’s (Katrina Kaif) Hindi right.

Ajay had a wicked grin on his face when the beefy hunk, very politely corrected Lisa’s ‘firangi twang’. While Lisa was patient enough to smile throughout the volley of digs targeted at her, she also parroted everything Salman asked her to, pretty sportingly.

Katrina Kaif’s Hindi has improved a lot and we definitely don’t doubt her ex-beau’s contribution, his hard work has helped us endure Kat’s acting over the years.

Perhaps, Sallu bhai needs a new student, now that the old ones have moved on.

Lisa started off with a small role in Aisha and now is doing an item number in Rascals, don’t be surprised to see this ‘Shake it Saiyaan’ gal land meaty roles and become a hot property in B-town, someday.

Well, Lisa may just have a long career in the industry if she is smart enough to become Salman’s next protégée.

Abusive Kareena: RA. One Dialogue Promo

Kareena Kapoor plays a bold, strong mom in Ra.One, who is at ease in speaking everything crass. You have seen her groove to Chammak Challo, now hear her as the super cool Sonia Subramaniam in Ra.One.

Until now, the promos of ‘Ra.one’ didn’t focus on her character; so here is the new trailer of the film which is surely a delight for all Kareena Kapoor fans.

In the promo, whenever Kareena sees Shahrukh Khan, she gets scared and unleashes a volley of cuss words, which sounds as refreshing as Kareena’s looks in the film. The dialogues read like this, “Tere baap ki…Tere tau ka poda….” She is a bindaas Punjabi girl who doesn’t worry about her lingo or what she is saying. However, her cute kid does remind her of the foul language.

It seems slangs suit Kareena. When she said ‘Tere Ma Ki ..’ while abusing her beau in the movie Jab We Met, audiences were thrilled to watch her in that particular scene. In the movie Golmaal 3, Bebo uttered some newly coined cuss words to the audience’s amusement, and we adored her for her attitude.

Shah Rukh Khan has launched his social avatar G.One from his upcoming sci-fi film RA.One in association with UTV Indiagames, which has got the rights to develop the online game.

The 45-year-old has conceptualized his virtual character G.One and games featuring him will be available on social networks like Facebook along with gaming platforms like Nokia Ovi, Android, Apple as well as to DTH subscribers.

To enable this, UTV Indiagames has created a cross-platform social game across mobile, online and television.

"The first ever superhero social game on the most powerful medium today takes it to a whole new level. The game has been specially conceptualized to ensure that it reaches out to all the audiences that are eagerly awaiting to catch a glimpse of the superhero G.One," said Shah Rukh in a release here Monday.

"This is the perfect opportunity for gamers to get introduced to and engage with G.One, understand his fantastic abilities and immerse themselves in the game and become superheroes," he added.

"The amazing statistic is that 50 percent of all users on social networking platforms play games. So when we associated with Red Chillies to create a game around 'RA.One', we decided to make a social game out of the character," said Vishal Gondal, CEO, UTV Indiagames.

Big Bosses on hosting Season 5 of the reality show.

As Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan get ready to host the fifth season of Bigg Boss, they believe that it is their comradery and their life’s experiences that will add to the show’s popularity.

After the much-publicised alleged spat between actors Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt almost a month ago, the two now seem to have put the past behind.

Having signed to host the fifth season of Bigg Boss together, the two were at Mehboob Studios on Thursday to promote the show. Dutt was the first one to arrive and Khan soon followed. After greeting each other briefly and sharing a few personal jokes, they parted ways for the interviews. While Dutt preferred to talk to the journalists in his vanity van, Khan, in his trademark style, sat outside the van with sister Alvira Khan and manager Reshma Shetty in tow. He looked fit after his facial nerve surgery and exclaimed that he is happy to be back home.

Khan, a Bigg Boss veteran, having hosted the previous season of the reality show, said that it was the channel’s decision to get Dutt on board. “My duty was to convince him. Since we trust each other a lot, he instantly agreed,” said the maverick actor. Dutt confessed that he had many television offers in the past, but he stayed away from them because they did not excite him. “Salman kept forcing me to take up television when I met him during 10 Ka Dum. I asked him to tell me when he finds something exciting for me. So when he came up with the offer of co-hosting Bigg Boss alongside him, I was thrilled,” said Dutt.

According to Khan, their coming together means that the ups and downs from their lives will add to the humour quotient of the show. “Whatever we have gone through in life might come out as a joke when we are hosting it,” said Khan. Dutt was a little nervous. “I did a mock rehearsal to get a feel of hosting since I will be doing it for the first time,” he said. Khan, however, believed it would be a cakewalk for Dutt. “His sense of humour is super and he is a spontaneous talker,” said Khan. It will be the chemistry, friendship and brotherhood between the two that will shine the most, insisted the duo.

The Bigg Boss house, known for fights among contestants and abusive language, was in some sort of trouble last season, when the Information and Broadcasting Ministry asked them to can the show if they did not adhere to the ministry’s rules. But Khan dismisses the fear of any such problems this time. He said, “The language is beeped and about the fights, don’t we see our mom and dad fighting at home. So what’s the big deal?”

Indian television, known for its gruelling work hours, has always made Bollywood actors a little apprehensive about taking up shows that require a lot of time. “Once you are on the set, then you are shooting continuously for five hours, unlike films, where we take a break after each shot. But then, once you are committed to a job, you have to give your everything,” said Khan. Dutt, however, insists that the schedule of Bigg Boss will not be as tough. “This is pretty easy. It is only one Saturday,” he said.

However, Khan wanted to send the journalists inside the house because he felt they ask him too many questions. He himself wouldn’t mind staying in the house. “As long as you are fine with your own being, you shouldn’t have a problem staying anywhere. Sanjay and I have been to places similar to Bigg Boss,” smiled Khan. Dutt, on the contrary, wouldn’t stay inside the house, because his three years in jail have sort of made him detest confinement. “But I would love to send David Dhawan in and starve him,” he laughed.

After Milan Luthria, who roped in Akshay Kumar for Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2, now we hear that Ram Gopal Varma is planning to make a sequel to Bhoot titled Bhhoooo with Sanjay Dutt.

A source revealed, "When Ramuji narrated the idea to Sanju, he was blown away. He immediately evinced his interest in playing a pivotal part in the movie."

Apparently, Dutt and Ramu have been bonding quite a bit on the sets of their forthcoming film Department.

Probed further about Sanjay's part in the horror flick, our source explained, "There's this character in the movie on whom the needle of suspicion falls. And the way Ramuji is conceptualising it, this character surfaces at every twist in the tale. He's almost like the main character in the movie because without him the story could neither begin nor end."

Interestingly, the actor is so fascinated by the director's concept for Bhhoooo that he has even offered to produce it for the filmmaker.

"This is not the first time Sanjay has expressed an interest to produce Ramuji's movie. He offered to back Department also, but then RGV struck a good deal with Viacom 18 Motion Pictures," the source said.

On his part, RGV reverted by text message saying, "We're doing another film and I'm producing along. But it's not a sequel to Bhoot."

When pursued for more information, the filmmaker conceded that he'd be in a better position to talk once the details are finalised.
