Samantha is back in the limelight with news about her dubbing for herself in Neethane En Ponvasantham and also the recent songs from this movie which have become huge hits already. 


The actor also opened up to the media about her absence from cinema for sometime due to her health condition.

There were reports that the pretty actor was suffering from some skin problems but Samantha says that she was taking some medication for low immunity. She mentioned that she had developed some sort of infection and her system was resisting the medication that she was taking. Hence she had to take bed rest for an extended period of time. 

Now she is fit and fine and will have a movie release every month starting from October, this year. Currently she is completing the films that she had signed before, and she is gunning to bag more offers.

Naan Ee, an upcoming sci-fi bilingual film that was scheduled to hit screens on 30th of May has been postponed.

S.S Rajamouli, thedirector of the film has said that he himself is disappointed with the delay that is due to the pending works in the film’s computer graphics. 

"I had underestimated the amount of hard work involved in creating computer graphics, that made me fix the release date as 30th May," said S.S Rajamouli apologizing for the disappointment that this delayed release of 'Eega' AKA 'Naan Ee' may cause.

The bilingual stars Nani and Samantha in the leading roles also has Santhanam, Crazy Mohan and Sudeep in supporting roles. Senthil Kumar has wielded the camera and Keeravani has composed the tunes for the film.

The film's CGI works are still in progress and the final release date of the film is expected to be announced soon.

Naan Ee, an upcoming sci-fi romantic thriller that deals with the reincarnation of the protagonist as a fly to avenge his death is a bi-lingual film, directed by SS Rajamouli.

The film starring Nani of Veppam fame and Samantha in the lead roles has Kannada star Sudeep in a role painted in gray. The film will be released worldwide simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu on 30th May.

The crew is now busy doing patch-up work in the graphics section of the film and the film’s director boasts that the CG works in Naan Ee have been performed by professionals in USA, Poland and India.

Expectation from this film is high due to its different story line.

Actress Samantha, who was till recently living at her house in Poes Garden, Chennai, has shifted to a new house she had bought in Hyderabad, to meet her tight Telugu schedules.

Samantha, who is currently busy shooting for Kadal, Neethane En Ponvasantham and Naan Ee in Tamil, has more offers in Tollywood. In Telugu, the actor is filming for Autonagar Surya and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu besides the Telugu version of Neethane En Ponvasantham and Naan Ee titled Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu and Eega respectively.

Recently, Samantha even signed for another film with Nandini Reddy. Since, she has too many Telugu projects in her kitty she has shifted base to Hyderabad for now.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu celebrated her 25th birthday on April 28th,2012.

The Chennai girl was first seen in Gowtham Menon's 'Ye Maya Chesave', the Telugu version of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa that also earned her a Nandi Award and a Filmfare Award along with millions of hearts. In Tamil, Samantha debuted with 'Moscowin Kavery' written and directed by cinematographer Ravi Varman. Since then it’s no looking back for the glossy girl.

Samantha is now one of the most sought after actresses in both Tamil and Telugu industry. She is currently shooting for Gowtham Menon's Neethane En Ponvasantham with Jiiva and its Telugu version with Nani. She is also shooting for Mani Ratnam’s much anticipated 'Kadal' with Gautham Karthik.

Apart from these films that is currently under production, Samantha has a number of Telugu projects in her kitty.

Gautam Menon is presently busy shooting Neethane En Ponvasantham starring Jiiva and Samantha.

In an interview Gautam shared his experience working with Isaignani Ilayaraja who has composed the music for the film.

Gowtham said that when he approached Ilayaraja and told him the story and mentioned of his requirement, the maestro immediately came up with a number of tunes. The director said he was totally awestruck and asked Ilayaraja to take it slowly as it was too much for the director to take in. But the maestro was in no mood to stop.

"The maestro composed all the eight tracks with his Harmonium and made Na. Muthukumar write the lyrics. He then made the singers sing the songs and took the tracks to London. In a matter of 16 days, he completed recording all the 8 songs along with the Hungarian Symphony group in an ultra modern studio," said Gowtham Menon adding that the songs have come out beautifully and assured that the album would be a chartbuster.

The buzz around the tinsel town is that ace director Gautham Menon might start his next project with Dhanush in the lead. 

The Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya director is said to have met up with the Kolaveri boy recently to discuss his next script. We also hear that Dhanush will be signing on the dotted lines soon. The official announcement about the project is expected anytime.

The actor is presently busy with his Bollywood Debut Raanjhnaa that is being directed by Anand Rai. He is being paired up with Sonam kapoor and Kangana Ranaut. He has also accepted a project with the Bharath Bala Productions.

Gautham Menon is presently shooting for his Neethane En Ponvasantham with Jiiva and Samantha in the lead. He also has Yohan Adhyayam Ondru in his kitty.

Gautham Menon is determined to bring out unknown talents in Jiiva and Samantha, the lead pair in his film, Neethane En Ponvasantham.

According to sources, Jiiva and Samantha will be singing the title track in the film that is derived from one of Ilaiyaraja's hit songs of the same name.

Incidentally, Ilaiyaraja is also doing the music for this film, and Gautham has promised fans a fantastic album.

Jiiva and Samantha felt honored as they had been given the opportunity to sing for Ilaiyaraja but they were also very nervous. Gautham Menon had to cajole and push them into singing and finally they managed to pull it off.

Now the entire team is waiting for the audio launch and for the fans to hear the great music Ilaiyaraja has composed for Neethane En Ponvasantham.

Director Gautham Menon had approached Karthi with a one liner for his forth coming soft romance. But Karthi has a habit of going through the entire script before accepting any project. Therefore, Gautham has supposedly given the actor his script.

The buzz is that Karthi who is currently busy with the shooting of Saguni and Alex Pandian, has promised Gautham that he would get back soon with a reply after going through the entire script.

Gautham Menon who is right now busy with Neethaane En Ponvasantham starring Jiiva and Samantha, will soon be working with Ilayathalapathy Vijay in Yohan: Adhyayam Ondru.

Gautham Menon’s Nee Thaane En Pon Vasantham has come to a standstill with the film technicians in Hyderabad refusing to work until the FEFSI issue is resolved.

Director Gowtham Menon was planning to complete a schedule in Hyderabad and had made all the arrangements to shoot with Jiiva, Samantha and others stars who were ready for the shooting to commence. But the technicians refused to work in the film despite Gautham insisting that it is a trilingual and he wants to at least shoot the Telugu and Hindi versions.

The technicians were adamant in their stand and hence the shooting had to be cancelled, say sources close to the Nee Thaane En Pon Vasantham team.

There have been rumors of a big Aravind Swamy comeback for months now as it was originally reported that he will be playing the villain in Vishal's Samaran.

The actor/entrepreneur denied these rumors and said that he was done with films. But it seems that films are not done with him.

Mani Rathnam who introduced Aravind Swamy with Thalapathy and then worked with him on memorable films like Roja and Bombay has asked him to do a role in his next film featuring Karthik's son Gautham and Samantha.

The actor and muse in Arvind Swamy could not refuse his mentor and has agreed to wear the grease paint again for Maniratnam's tentatively titled film Pookadai.

Pookadai, that is to launch Actor Karthik's son Gautam in the lead opposite Samantha would also have Arjun and Lakshmi Manchu in pivot roles with Arvind Swamy joining the cast to play the female leads father.

It is certainly going to be a treat to see Arvind Swamy on the big screen again.

A source close to Mani Ratnam has revealed that the director who was in search of a heroine for his next Tamil film called upon actress Samantha for a screen test.

Samantha, who wad shooting for Gautham Menon’s next film 'Nee Thaane En Pon Vasantham' was reported to have received a phone call from Maniratnam's Madras Talkies for a screen test for his next film.

A thrilled Samantha rushed to the office for a screen test but unfortunately She was told that she did not fit in.

Mani Ratnam is launching actor Karthik’s son Gautham in his next film that is touted to be a passionate love story.

Actor Nani of 'Veppam' fame will now be seen in another Tamil film 'Naan Ee'.

The film directed by S.S. Rajamouli is a socio-fantasy comedy entertainer and is Rajamouli's first film to be released simultaneously in two languages.

'Naan Ee' is the title of the Tamil version of the Telugu flick 'Eega' that is taking shape at a fast pace. It is a live action graphical film and has an animated character ‘House Fly’ in the title role. While actor Nani of ‘Veppam’ is the protagonist with Kannada actor Sudeep playing the antagonist.

The story of the film is about its hero who is reborn as Eega (fly) after being killed by the Villain. Eega happens to remember what happened in it’s last birth and the rest of the story is about Eega’s indomitable effort to irritate villain and take revenge on him.

Eega is an experimental film with mainstream emotions and financial viability.

Goutham Menon is very busy shooting Jiiva and Samantha for Neethaane En Ponvasantham.

"I have a passion for Ilayaraja’s songs. I borrowed the famous line from one of his songs," Said Gowtham.

The movie went to floors recently and the shoot is on in and around Chennai.

Gowtham said "Jiiva expressed his desire to work with me and I was waiting for a right script. Eventually 'Neethaane En Ponvasantham' happened," and added "I would describe Jiiva as a friendly and co-operative star. He is a director’s actor and does what a filmmaker wants."

Interestingly Goutham is also directing Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson for Ek Deewana Tha, the Hindi remake of Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaya.

The actor made her Telugu debut with Gautham Menon’s hit bilingual, Ye Maya Chesave, post which she has been doing a lot of glamorous roles.

Dookudu hit the screens last Friday, had a bumper initial. Samantha stresses that her role is very important in the film, unlike other superstar flicks.

Samantha is eyeing the top spot in Telugu industry with Dookudu as the likes of Anushka and Ileana seem to be a step below at the moment, though Kajal Aggarwal, who has the all-time blockbuster Magadheera to her credit, seems to be a bit ahead in the race.

Samantha is hoping that Dookudu will keep up its initial momentum and turn out to be a mega hit, which would propel her to the top heroine status in Kollywood.

Samantha also has an interesting line-up of films, including a trilingual directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon titled Nithya in Telugu, alongside Nani. In the Tamil version, she is paired with Jiiva.

The most popular movies at the multiplex this past weekend included some familiar titles: "The Lion King," "Moneyball," "Drive" and "Dookudu: Daring & Dashing."

"Dookudu," an Indian cinema that blends action, comedy, romance and dance sequences, scored three of the seven most lucrative engagements around the United States.

At a multiplex in Fairfax County, VA - the movie took in a whopping $82,000 over the weekend.

Already a hit in India, the film pairs the very popular Mahesh Babu with the gorgeous Samantha in true Indian cinema fashion at a lightning quick 3 hours and 10 minutes.

So what made "Dookudu" so popular?

"Obviously, the most important is the star of the film, Mahesh Babu; then the film is directed by Srinu Vytla, who has earned a name for making mass entertainers Ready, King etc.. The presence of popular comedians Brahmanandam and M.S. Narayana in the film is also an asset, and ‘Dookudu’ has a beautiful heroine Samantha Ruth Prabhu, sharing screen space with Mahesh for the first time."

It was earlier reported that Gautham Menon had signed up Jiiva, Ram and Adithya Roy Kapoor for Nee Thaane En Pon Vasantham’s Tamil, Telugu and Hindi version respectively but Ram had moved out of the Telugu version of the film and the director is looking for another suitable replacement.

Following the reports that Ram had walked out of the film, it was said that Jiiva had bagged the offer. But, Jiiva has now confirmed that he is not doing the Telugu version.

The star said that the Tamil version is being filmed at the moment and he is very busy with it.

Jiiva, however, refused to disclose who would be doing the Telugu version of Gowtham Menon's Nee Thaane En Pon Vasantham.
