Sridevi was recently in the city to launch the Tamil trailer of 'English Vinglish' directed by debutante Gauri Shinde and produced by R. Balki of Cheeni Kum (2007) and Paa (2009) fame.
During her long absence from films, actor Sridevi didn't lose touch with Tamil films and programmes and mentioned that said she enjoyed watching Superstar Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai in Shankar's Endhiran.
When Sridevi was asked if she would make a comeback to Tamil films,
"It all depends on the script and the ability of the director to convince me," said the former diva adding that she has developed a habit of enjoying the numerous Tamil comedy channels before she goes to sleep.
English Vinglish marks the comeback of Sridevi after a long sabbatical (14yrs from Hindi and 16yrs from Tamil films) and her first time for to work with a lady director.
English Vinglish also features French actor Mehdi Nebbou, Adil Hussain, and Priya Anand. Amitabh Bachchan makes a guest appearance in the Hindi version of the film, while Ajith Kumar comes in for the same role in the Tamil version.
