Ileana lost to Nargis ?

Okay, so we know that Nargis Fakhri has been confirmed to play Akshay Kumar's heroine in his next film, which he's co-producing with Himesh Reshammiya.

Interestingly, the model who made her debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor wasn’t the first choice for the Ashish R. Mohan directed film.

Reportedly, South Indian starlet Ileana D’Cruz was initially confirmed for the part. Seems there’s more buzz about Ranbir and Priyanka Chopra, her co-stars in her upcoming maiden Hindi release.

So turning apprehensive about how she turns out in her Bollywood debut, the makers of the Akshay-Himesh joint production decided to rope in Nargis instead, considering that her film has released… never mind if her performance has been panned.

I was upset that I couldn’t dub for myself: Nargis Fakhri

Nargis Fakhri says she spent hours in the dubbing studio and hoped to hear her voice onscreen.

Nargis might have been linked to actor Ranbir Kapoor, her co-star in her debut Bollywood film, but when asked about the veracity of these reports, Nargis Fakhri maintains that she has no time for a relationship and brushes off queries about being romantically involved with the Kapoor scion. What's even more surprising is that the 31-year-old New Yorker had no idea who actor Ranbir and director Imtiaz Ali were before she signed up for the film that shot her to stardom.

"I had no idea about either of them. For me, doing the film was more like an art project. I just fell in love with the script the moment I heard it," said Nargis.

The former model admits that making the switch from the ramp to the big screen wasn't very easy either.

"It was very difficult initially; acting is a very intense job. It was difficult to adjust to the acting environment. Moreover, I had to get used to being in a new environment without my friends or family. But I enjoyed it," she says, adding, "I remember spending 10 hours in the office, from Monday to Sunday, dubbing for my own scenes. I did 5-10 scenes, but I don't know why they weren't taken. I was very upset that I didn't get to dub for myself."

While Nargis is aware of the appreciation that has come her way for her role, her greatest admirer so far has been Ranbir. "He has seen how hard I worked on this project, and it's great if your co-star gives you credit," she says.

And though the actor is just one film old, she has already bagged three endorsements and kickstarted a brand war of sorts. Quiz her about snapping up deals for which actors Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were also under consideration, and she says, "I don't think I am taking over from anyone. I have been doing ads for some time and this is not new to me."

And if B-town buzz is to be believed, the newbie Nargis has been signed up to play the female villain in Rakesh Roshan's sequel to Krrish. "I am not doing this right now. At the moment I am just taking my time," she clarified.

Deepika wept watching Rockstar

What more proof does an actor require of a powerful performance than someone moved to tears?

Imtiaz Ali’s film Rockstar may have drawn mixed responses from critics, but almost everyone agrees that Ranbir Kapoor has delivered a terrific performance in the film.

Well, that seems to be the case with Deepika Padukone.

Buzz is that Deepika Padukone, Ranbir’s ex girlfriend as the world already knows, was in tears while watching Rockstar at a special screening hosted by Ranbir himself at Yashraj over the weekend.

Ranbir really values the opinions of his peers in the industry and therefore held a special screening of the film to which the likes of Deepika, Anushka Sharma and even Katrina Kaif were invited.

Onlookers say that Deepika got so involved in the film that at one point her eyes welled up and she wept.

We don’t know if Ranbir knows about Deepika’s extreme reaction, but if he does he should realize that there’s no compliment bigger than this.

Kareena was the preferred choice for Rockstar

Did you love Kareena Kapoor's performance as Geet in Imtiaz Ali's 'Jab We Met', we all simply loved her, didn't we? The Director Imtiaz Ali thought the same! Thus, when he came up with the idea of his next project Rockstar, his initial choice of the female lead was Kareena Kapoor! However, since the script of Rockstar required some romantic scenes between the female lead and the lead actor Ranbir Kapoor, he could not rope in Kareena as Ranbir and Bebo are related by blood!

To fit in Kareena, he could not think of casting any other lead actor other than Ranbir coz he felt that it was a tailor made role for him and no one else could have portrayed it to perfection other than Ranbir.

In a recent interview, Ranbir Kapoor admitted that Imtiaz was keen to work with Kareena but since Kareena was his (Ranbir’s) sister, things could not work out! Ranbir even said that he would love to work with Kareena in the future, provided the roles are not romantic ones!

Ranbir got candid and also talked about his granduncle, late Shammi Kapoor. He said that working with Shammi Kapoor was a learning and memorable experience for him and the whole team of Rockstar! Ranbir was also all praises for A.R. Rahman, the music composer of Rockstar.

Rockstar is slated to release on November 11th.

Ranbir admits cheating in a relationship

He stays away from commenting on the matters of heart. But for the first time Ranbir Kapoor admits he has cheated in a relationship. His on-off dalliances with a host of beauties have caused enough trouble for him.

Once a friend of his, who is also a popular actor, said on a chat show that he wishes to gift Ranbir Kapoor a ‘Ways to be Faithful’ book. Now the proverbial Casanova of Bollywood dares to wear his attitude on his sleeve and talks to the film magazine Stardust. In his frank talk, Ranbir confesses to cheating on his partner (who is she?) and denies dating Angela Jonnson, Nargis Fakhri and recently Prerna Goel - the three women with whom he has been linked.

While talking to the magazine, Ranbir also has something to say on Deepika Padukone’s famous ‘condom’ comment made on a chat show. He says: “the next time someone gifts me condoms, I will say thank you for making me aware of safe sex.”

And what he has to say about Sonam Kapoor, who believes he is not sexy? “If Sonam says I am not sexy. She really means it. She is not saying for the effect. If someone feels I am not sexy, my parents should feel sad, not me,” says Ranbir Kapoor.

Nargis Fakhri is a boon to Rockstar: Ranbir Kapoor

Bollywood heart-throb Ranbir Kapoor can’t stop praising his co-star and debutante Nargis Fakhri.

“Nargis is an amazing actor. She is a big boon to our film. We are lucky to have her on board our film,” Ranbir, who was looking like a rockstar in a pair of jeans, green kurta and a jacket, told the reporters.

“I pray that audiences accept Nargis as this is her first film. I request everyone to be kind to her. It feels really nice to know that people are liking our chemistry on screen.”

“Rockstar”, slated for a Nov 11 release, is about a young successful musician and his tryst with love. While Ranbir plays the protagonist, Nargis, who is a half Czech-half Pakistani model, plays his love interest.

The actor visited the Centrestage mall here to unveil the poster of the film “Rockstar” and, as expected, the shopping arena swarmed with people cheering and hooting for the Kapoor scion.

Ranbir, who visited the Hazrat Nizamuddin dargah Monday with director Imtiaz Ali, described it as a spiritual experience.

“It was a very spiritual experience. I think we are lucky enough that Nizamuddin dargah gave us the opportunity to sing with the qawwals and sing the song with them at the dargah itself,” said Ranbir.

Rockstar - Theatrical Trailer

After much anticipation, Ranbir Kapoor fans now get a sneak peek at Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar, scheduled to release November 11.

Fans have pasted the trailer of the film on blogs and Youtube playlists and everyone's floored! The film also features a last look of Bollywood's original rockstar, the late Shammi Kapoor who passed away on August 14.

The film revolves around Jordan, a budding young musician, who is a little awkward around the edges.

It is only when love starts interfering with his performance, this young rockstar chooses his career over his heart.

Unable to let go, Jordan's plight transforms him into a tortured rocker, haunted by his past. Hardened by his attempt to block his heart, Jordan's successful career soon sees him with complete disregard to the law and society.

With music by AR Rahman and a final performance by the late Shammi Kapoor, movie buffs have much to look forward to.

Ranbir parties hard with Angela Johnson

He generally doesn’t like to host parties, but in the absence of his parents, the Kapoor lad decided to enjoy his freedom and threw a lavish party for his friends at his bungalow. And along with his close friends there was also this mystery girl, who the media recognizes as Angela Johnson, arriving quietly at the party. Yeah! Ranbir Kapoor invited Angela and she did come.

It’s reported that nowadays Ranbir is staying without his parents because Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh are on vacations. The time was just right to party and Ranbir invited his buddies at his home Krishna Raj. The actor had returned from Hyderabad just the day before.

Celebs became party animals and enjoyed till the wee hours. Angela looked quite different for the party. Her poker-straight hair was defined with slight curls. The girl wore a blue-coloured short dress and wasn’t shying away from the cameras.

So who all were present? The list is endless: Karan Johar, Imtiaz Ali, lovebirds Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, another lovey dovey couple of Soha Ali Khan and Kunal Khemu. Salman settles scores with Ranbir

Some might see it as his way of settling the score with Ranbir Kapoor. But, for Salman Khan choosing Nargis Fakhri as his heroine for a superhero film might just be a clever professional decision.

Ranbir Kapoor is often accused of stealing Katrina Kaif from Salman Khan. After all, it was during the making of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani that the sparks first flew between Ranbir and Kat. What it resulted in was a break-up between Salman and Kat even though Ranbir couldn’t stick to Kat after that and has been repeatedly linked with his Rockstar heroine Nargis Fakhri.

Now, the tables have turned as Salman Khan is looking forward to rope in Nargis for brother Sohail Khan’s production titled Sher Khan which will reportedly have Sallu playing a superhero.

The buzz is that Sohail wants a new girl to pair with Salman in the film. And Nargis -- though she won’t be a newbie by the film Sher Khan goes on the floors -- tops Khan’s wishlist.

The film is set to roll by the end of this year. More than anything, it offers Nargis a plum chance to cement her place in B-town.

Nargis Fakhri - Reason for the rift?

Salman wants Nargis Fakhri

Ranbir Kapoor and Salman Khan have history. The RK boy began dating Khan's girl Katrina Kaif two years ago.

The romance began on the sets of their film Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (and continued during Raajneeti). Will history repeat itself? It is learnt that Salman now wants to romance RK's girl Nargis Fakhri.

Towards the end of the year, Salman Khan will get into the super-hero garb for his younger brother Sohail Khan's film titled Sher Khan (and not Tarzan) as reported. Sohail has worked on the script of this film for a long time and it is wildly exciting, say sources. Even as the girls — Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha and others start lining up for the role of Sher Khan's leading lady, trade sources indicate that Salman may team up with the Rockstar girl Nargis Fakhri. Says our source, "Sohail either wants a fresh face or he wants his brother to pair up with Nargis."' We hear the producers of Rockstar, who are also advising Nargis on her career, will be happy if she bags a film with Bhai.

Ranbir and Nargis get cosy

Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri were reprimanded by their director the last time they stepped out in public. But these two are unstoppable.

Eye witnesses claim to have spotted Ranbir and with his Rockstar co-star at Prithvi theatre recently. The duo watched two plays back-to-back. They seemed completely at ease with each other, even as people around clicked their pictures and asked RK boy for autographs.

Looks like the Kapoor lad is over his girlfriend of two years Katrina Kaif. He seems to be smitten by Nargis' charms! Well, what matters is that the Kapoor scion can't help date pretty girls and we can't help writing about it. Must check if Nargis tweeted about her play date with her hero.

Ranbir gives Nargis Hindi lessons

Ranbir Kapoor and his ‘Rockstar’ co-star Nargis Fakhri have been making headlines ever since the two allegedly started spending great time together on the sets of the film. But Ranbir kept insisting that his closeness to the actress was only on professional level. And now the Kapoor lad is making desperate attempts to help Nargis improve her diction in Hindi, hence the proximity.

Buzz has it that the Kapoor kid and filmmaker Imtiaz Ali have instructed the crew members of the film to converse with the model turned actress in Hindi. They want her accent to be typically Hindi. Nargis, who happens to be half-Pakistani and half-Czechoslovakian, was born in the US.

The actor-director duo is relentlessly working at brushing up Fakhri’s language skills before the release of their film.

Talking to a tabloid, a source revealed, "Nargis` screen presence and her acting abilities are topnotch. Everyone from the unit is raving about her. But the matter of her lines still needs to be sorted out."

Well, we do understand Imtiaz’s concern over the debutant hottie’s edgy Hindi accent but what makes Ranbir so interested in correcting her diction? Does the hunk feel Imtiaz isn’t good enough to do the needful or there is some other reason?

Nargis on Ranbir's speed dialing list

Bollywood heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor has dated many from Deepika Padukone to Katrina Kaif and then Nargis Fakhri but who is No-1 in Ranbir's speed list?

“The No-1 is my mother. I speak to her 2-3 times a day. I don’t do anything without letting her know, without actually talking to her,” Ranbir said.

So, the star actor is a momma’s boy and lady love always comes next to his mother.

My mom is very caring, she is always calling me asking me if I have eaten my lunch, my dinner, if I am doing ok," he added.

These days the actor is busy shooting for ‘Rockstar’ directed by Imtiaz Ali, ‘Azan’ directed by Prashant Chadha and ‘Barfee’ directed by Anurag Basu.

Nargis Fakhri the new playgirl in B Town

Nargis Fakhri, all set to make her debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor, has been in the news more for her ‘romantic’ affairs rather than her work.

The model from the US has already got many tongues wagging for her closeness to her Rockstar co-actor Ranbir Kapoor. The pictures of Ranbir and Nargis bonding together on the sets of director Imtiaz Ali’s film have already hit the web and now we hear that there’s another man the lissom damsel is often spotted with: none other than the divorced model Shayan Munshi, he who hit the headlines for turning hostile as a witness in the Jessica Lal murder case.

Rumour has it that there’s something brewing between Nargis and Shayan. The two have been spotted together more often than not in the past few weeks.

They have been spotted at restaurants and cafes and even enjoying the long drives.

Nargis and Shayan know each other through Shayan’s sister who is Nargis’ friend.

Reports say the two even went on a brief vacation in Goa.

From the start, Nargis has enjoyed a lot of male attention in B-town, be it Ranbir, or his friend Ayan Mukherjee, and now Shayan. The girl apparently knows how to stay in the news.

Nargis Fakhri considering Shayan

Post Ranbir Kapoor, Nargis finds solace in now-divorced- model-turned-actor Shayan Munshi's company.

Nargis Fakhri seems to be enjoying Indian hospitality to the fullest. Lest this American born model feels left out without Ranbir, it's Shayan Munshi who has chosen to keep her company.

An eyewitness tells us, "Shayan and Nargis, who reside in Bandra, have been spotted together at various hotspots in the suburb.

They have been dining together; going out for coffee and on long drives rather often. This has been happening for the past 20-25 days. Last they were seen at a Juhu lounge watching the World Cup final."

Now, Shayan, if you recall, was one of the four eyewitnesses who turned hostile in the Jessica Lall murder case in 1999. He was later arrested in the year 2006 when he was trying to leave the country with his then wife Peeya Roychowdhury.

Having filed for divorce last year, Shayan surely is free enough to take the latest Bollywood import around town.

A source said, "No one really knows how they got so close but they seem to have been hitting it off really well.

In mid-March, the duo even flew to Goa for a few days. Neither Nargis nor Shayan has revealed the status of their relationship to the public but the frequency of their calls, messages and meetings makes it so obvious. No two friends call each other and fight with each other for petty things."

When contacted, Shayan said he was busy in a meeting and that we should SMS him our query. He replied saying, "Not true. We are good friends. She knows my sister from New York."

Imitiaz takes a toll outta me

In a bid to get rave reviews, Ranbir Kapoor seems to have taken his latest character a tad bit too seriously, literally speaking. Buzz is that the otherwise easygoing actor suffered severe depression and turned morose in an effort to get the acting right. Ranbir's upcoming film has been directed by Imtiaz Ali and also stars the sizzling model Nargis Fakhri.

The actor admitted to a daily, "Yes, Imtiaz`s film took a lot out of me and shook me up," reports Spicezee Bureau.

According to sources, "The emotional scenes that he shot for, took its toll. He went into a shell and didn't meet anyone during this time. It took a lot of coaxing from friends and family to finally draw him out," reports the tabloid.

Whether it was actually the character or the ups and down in his love life, which put him down in the dumps, only he can tell.

Is Ranbir a womanizer?

The insatiable womanizer, Ranbir Kapoor, seems to have had more than his fill. After too many link ups and unending media speculations about him and his Rockstar co-star Nargis Fakhri and at times even Anushka Sharma, the actor's parents have lost their cool. He too is no longer amused.

"More than himself, Ranbir is embarrassed because of his parents. He won't take the Casanova image lying down," reveals a close friend of the actor.

According to the friend, "Ranbir has never treated Nargis Fakhri as anything more than a co-star. Ranbir goes out with her, yes. But only in a group with his other friends." Also, there is a reason behind him being so caring towards the newcomer.

Nargis, it seems, is under an exclusive contract with Asthvinayak, the production house of her film, Rockstar, which states that she can't be seen with people apart from her co-stars from the film at social gatherings. What can a good friend like Ranbir do? Of course, keep the poor girl company!

According to the star's friend, "Ranbir is tired with his friends constantly joking about his libido." After all, he has been linked to Sonam Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, who he dated on and off before finally breaking off. Katrina Kaif, too, had been a part of his burgeoning list.

Incidentally, Nargis is not the only one in Ranbir's life currently. There is also Anushka Sharma. "Isn't she seeing Ranveer Singh?" laughs the friend.

While, Ranbir was reportedly seen in the backseat of a car with Sharma, his friend denies it vehemently. "Ranbir was in the front seat with his friend Ayaan Mukherji (Director, Wake Up Sid) Anushka was in the backseat with Ranveer," explains he.

Looks like the new generation Kapoor lad has been seriously misunderstood and his actions misinterpreted. And so, finally, he has decided to give his 'roving eye' voluntary retirement. "That isn't me that's being written about. I've had enough. I just want to withdraw from the limelight completely for sometime," says Ranbir.

I am not dating Anushka: Ranbir

It seems Ranbir has been having issues with his on and off relationship rumors, which has been staying in the news for quite sometime now.

Ranbir, who has lately been linked with his ‘Rockstar’ costar Nargis Fakhri after earlier being rumored to be in a relationship with Katrina, is now heard of seeing Anushka Sharma.

However, it’s learnt that the actor is tired of these reports grabbing limelight for the past few months and has stated that what has been written about him aren’t true and he has had enough of it.

“That isn't me that's being written about. I've had enough. I just want to withdraw from the limelight completely for sometime,” stated the ‘Rockstar’ actor.

Rishi and Neetu are angry with Ranbir’s relationship rumors

It’s heard that Ranbir’s parents are quite upset about their son’s image being badly tainted with these continuous link up reports.

Talking about Ranbir’s parents being upset, the actor’s close pal stated, “More than himself Ranbir is embarrassed because of his parents. He can take any kind of flak or rumour. But if his parents get affected, he reacts. And now Ranbir has had enough. He won't take the Casanova image lying down.”

Ranbir not dating Anushka Sharma

Ranbir is quite angry after he has been lately linked up with the ‘Band Baaja Baarat’ actress Anushka Sharma, since it was reported that both of them were seen seated cozily together in the backseat of a car.

Confirming that Ranbir and Anushka’s link up reports isn’t true, his friend stated, "Ranbir was in the front seat with his friend Ayaan Mukherji (Director, Wake Up Sid) Anushka was in the backseat with Ranveer.”

Incidentally, the actor is now speculated to have a soft corner for Nargis and is supposedly seen hanging out with her most of the time. However, when Ranbir’s friend was asked about the actor’s ‘Rockstar’ co-star, he stated that she is nothing more than a co-star to Ranbir.

"Ranbir has never treated Nargis Fakhri as anything more than a co-star. Ranbir goes out with her, yes. But only in a group with his other friends,” stated the actor’s friend.

Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor split

Katrina and Ranbir are no longer a couple, reports say. Some are of the view that the two have split because of Ranbir’s closeness with co-star Nargis Fakhri while others state that Katrina is looking forward to tie the knot with Ranbir while Ranbir is not ready to enter marriage.

A source stated “It was only incidental that Ranbir`s fondness for Nargis increased recently.”

The source said further, “However, what has really distanced him from Katrina is her demand that they get married, by March 2012, if not December 2011. She clearly told him that they should tie the knot in a year`s time.”

Denying the news, Katrina stated “These rumours are embarrassing, ugly, a million miles from the truth, beyond fiction.”

The actress said further, “The so-called people close to me who are saying these things actually have no proximity to me.”

She said further, “Ranbir is a friend, but there is nothing beyond. So there is no question of my breaking up with him or asking for marriage.”
