It seems that Genelia D'Souza is one bride with a major case of cold feet.
Interestingly it's for her on-screen marriage to Abhay Deol in Ekta Kapoor's Rock The Shaadi (earlier titled Shaadi Of The dead). However, a source explains that the actress's fears are justified after the unprecedented events that followed her on-screen marriage to John Abraham in Force.
The pandit, who married Genelia and John in the film, alleged that he performed the actual wedding rituals by reciting proper mantras and so claimed that they were a legitimate married couple.
The Pandit reportedly came out with these claims when rumours of Genelia's marriage to her beau Riteish Deshmukh surfaced.
What we hear now is that of Navdeep Singh's directorial venture, Rock The Shaadi, Which would have Genelia shooting 60-70 percent of the film in and around the shaadi mandap.
"Genelia was concerned with the wedding scene in Ekta's film after what happened with the similar scene shot for Force. Ekta is taking extra precautions around the sets to avoid any such mishaps like the last time. She had asked the priest to give it in writing that he will not talk to the media or click any picture nor take any footage. Only after Genelia was assured that this time there would be no controversy did she agree to sign the film. The producer doesn't want Genelia to go through any embarrassment." said the source.
When contacted, the official spokesperson of Rock The Shaadi said, "It's a fun film, revolving around a Punjabi wedding. Given the past controversy, we wanted to be extra careful."
